Writers Already Working On Season 4, New NBC Show, More SPOILERS!

Post image for Writers Already Working On Season 4, New NBC Show, More SPOILERS!

by Matej ( Heroes Television)

Heroes Writer Oliver Grisgby confirmed that the team of writers have already begun working on the frame work for the first episodes of the new season and that next week they will work on more details!! ( are you following us on twitter? )

By the way, NBC announced their 09-10 season series schedule . Chuck ( if it returns) will not air on Monday’s before Heroes. New scifi series Day One is rumored to be possible candidate. Visit official site and this forum thread ( whole page ) if you want to know more about the show.

What do you think about Day One, DayOneTelevision.com comes into mind :) ?

Now SPOILERS:

Zachary Quinto as Sylar will return, but in a “Fight Club-esque way”.

Few of our favorite characters “may be resurrected”. The key word for me of course is “may”, but for some it is “resurrected”. I point out “may” because this seems to be speculation based on other reports that we have also read but if a dead character does return who could that be!?

Tracy’s whole revenge arc will serve as a centerpiece of next fall’s “Redemption” volume.

Show is also planning to introduce a cool and mysterious new villain. Let’s face it, it’s time.

MEREDITH AND FLINT!!

Cmaster#1HeroesFan May 20, 2009 at 6:21 pm

Hey, y’all Xtreme Heroes fans, pay attention!
Peter himself said he took Sylar’s shapeshifting ability (10 mins before the end of season finale), so for one, now he has two powers, flying, and shapeshifting. Idon’t know about you but I pretty much think it will stay like that. At least until Season 5. Also see ‘I AM SYLAR’ again for ideas about what will happen to Sylar, Nathan.
*cough* the Haitan’s brother as new villain, *cough*.
I cannot wait for Volume Five!

Swm May 20, 2009 at 6:51 pm

Peter does not have Flight. Claire specifically asks him that after the battle with Sylar, and he answers no. He’s either got shapeshifting or all of Sylar’s abilities, but his old one is gone.

Cmaster#1HeroesFan May 21, 2009 at 2:28 pm

Oh yyeeeaahhhhh. I totally forgot. So, just shapeshifting then.

micky.w. May 22, 2009 at 8:55 am

to sk74: yes thats what i belive, sylar moved his week spot somewhere else i think he was just starting to get a hang of shapeshifting which i reckon come with more then one side effect.1 PHYSICAL: is DNA sylar with the extra tooth and blue eye,2 MENTAL: splitpersonality, seeing a different face everymorning most play hovac on your mind, but sylar was just starting to be allright and control it, (weekspot moved) peter wont be able to control it as fast as sylar he could just drop it but the writers/producers wont let him for a while i hope, my thoughts are that peter could get the scar shaping his own DNA or like sylar did with the tooth when he changes in to someone else bring back features of that person like tooth, extra toe, scars, etc also where do you belive sylars week spot is i have a feeling but would like some other views before i make up my mind, also claires healing people saying that it should bring back nathan no if hes dead it cant claires powers works with the living thats why SK74 that when peter gets the scar its dead tisue it wont heal only linderman could heal peter like what he did with the flower in 0.7% and angelas scar in 1961 and hes not around anymore, adam monroe i belive had the same power as claire might be slightly different but when he healed nathen his burns were not scars yet thats why he healed.

Swm May 22, 2009 at 9:05 am

“also where do you belive sylars week spot is i have a feeling but would like some other views before i make up my mind”

If Sylar had any sense, he’d stick it somewhere that’s as hard to reach as possible. Maybe in his ear or something?

gotay78 May 22, 2009 at 3:51 pm

@Swm, that would be a good idea unless he ran into Echo Demille from the Going Postal Webisodes! LOL I like his ability and they should use him or something of that nature in the upcoming seasons….can’t wait too see how Peter gets his scar and Sylar’s return…

sk74 May 22, 2009 at 4:15 pm

Hard to think where a good place for the weak spot would be… has to be somewhere unlikely but not vulnerable (obviously). I was thinking somewhere like his elbow or something, but if he hit his funnybone then he’d die laughing (groan)!

Maybe his heel (as in Achille’s heel)? Sounds ridiculous, but that’s off the top of the head

micky.w. May 22, 2009 at 4:50 pm

i think it would still have to be on the brain the week spot anythoughts?, through the ear might be good, i was thinking through his eyes oppsite side, but the hardest point would be at the bottom of the brain so stabbed through his chin up through the top of this mouth into the brain, you would have to catch him well off gaurd to get him

sk74 May 23, 2009 at 12:45 am

@ micky.w.
“i think it would still have to be on the brain the week spot anythoughts?, through the ear might be good, i was thinking through his eyes oppsite side, but the hardest point would be at the bottom of the brain so stabbed through his chin up through the top of this mouth into the brain, you would have to catch him well off gaurd to get him”

Thinking about it, you’re probably right – the weak spot would probably still be located on the brain for logical reasons (but then the theory about Peter’s scar moving around his body from leg to face, for example, would contradict that. What I mean is, if the scar could possibly ‘relocate’ from one end of the body to another, then shouldn’t the weak spot be able to be moved from brain to elsewhere as well?)…

The ear theory is a good one too (Sorry Swm, forgot to give you props for that one!), and I did think of his eye too… but I dismissed that one coz then he could get killed if his eye got poked out – I thought that ultimately the eye is too vulnerable a place to put it.

I do like the base of the brain idea though… it would be a difficult spot to attack. Another reason why I like it… there was a Marvel storyline that took place immediately before the Age of Apocalypse where Wolverine pierced Sabretooth’s brain with one of his claws in that exact same manner – through the chin, up into the brain (of course, Sabretooth’s healing factor eventually repaired the damage although it took some time, but for a while he was virtually braindead).

My ONLY problem with this is… isn’t that where Peter stabbed him with the syringe when he tranq’d him? (I could be wrong, have to watch the ep again.) On the other hand, maybe that’s why Sylar was out cold for so long, whereas he has recovered from tasers and Samson’s Sedation almost instantly.

heroes lover May 23, 2009 at 12:47 am

i want monica dawson to come back she had such a cool power. but i liked D.L a lot and i know that he was shot but i want him to come back. but i am so excited cause in that sneak peak tracy was the water and then formed into herself that was hot

micky.w. May 23, 2009 at 2:50 pm

@sk74: true the scar peter gets might move around his own body ie from his leg that wouldnt mean the week spot is able to do the same the scar is a mark the weekspot is a shutoff point, now the brain controls everything in the entire body what i belive sylar has done is shifted his brain round in a different way when sylar looks into the brain of someone he picks out there power and tunes his own brain to do the same and then devlop it, so i belive he shape shifted his brain to some point where the week spot is still in the same spot on the brain just an entire different spot on his head, petes scar: i dont think it comes from himself anymore, i said earlier in my posts that i belive that peter might get it from someone else (example) sylar had an extra tooth that he brought back when SS back to himself he was able to rip it out thou, if pete brings a scar back with him from someone hes been, he wont be able to rip that out or take it away he will have to live with it, also the syringe wasnt long enough to reach the brain a long ish knife would reach, my eye thing i thought was good because which eye would you go for, the left one what his left or my left lol

sk74 May 24, 2009 at 3:02 pm

@ micky.w.
Some good points and interesting thoughts there, mate. I’d like to see your scar idea take place, coz we’re all assuming that Pete gets it in a battle (although I would like to see that happen as well… Hmmm, just thought… what if Pete battles someone and scars THEM, but then has to take their form, and thus, the scar… which THEN proceeds to move around his body, ending up on his face? A lesson in consequences and repercussions?)

I agree on the syringe thing, after thinking about it and watching the ep again it wasn’t long enough… although if that’s where The Spot is, then Pete didn’t realise how close he was… and it’s a massive clue, by way of foreshadowing.

kervz john "peter" May 25, 2009 at 12:55 am

i think the new villain would be MOhinder Suresh

Cmaster#1HeroesFan May 29, 2009 at 11:44 am

A cool and (I can’t stress this enough) NEW mysterious Villain!!

Mike May 30, 2009 at 2:58 am

Something I read was that Peter will regain his abilities at the end of the next season, but he will acquire the scar in the first half of the season. My guess, since they are shortening the episodes to 18-20, he will get the scar in the first half of the season. He will then heal from that while they have about 6-10 episodes without him and focusing on Hiro, the new villain, the internal fight between Sylar/Nathan, Tracey, and have some more episodes discussing the older Heroes and what they did in the past, and he will come back after someone (probably Hiro) brings baby Matt Parkmen to him.

Also, when Peter shakes hands with Sylar at the end of the episode, what was up with Sylar shaking and changing forms? Was Peter draining some of Sylar’s powers (like Arthur does)? Or was there an issue with trying to take a shape of a person who had shape-shifted?

It does seem like they are heading back into the “Five Years Gone” path. One major difference is that Sylar already has Claire’s regeneration power.

Well, hopefully some things will be answered in the upcoming months. About 3-4 months until the season opener. I’m glad they moved it to the 8 o’clock time, now it won’t interfere with Monday Night Football.

sk74 May 30, 2009 at 12:13 pm

You got the answer with your last question

Cmaster#1HeroesFan May 30, 2009 at 4:54 pm

Rock on!!!!

Andy June 2, 2009 at 1:19 am

“Cool and mysterious *new* villain”?!?!

YES! ^_^

Season 3 really lacked any interesting new villains. (In my opinion, Arthur was a terrible character, and the other “villains” weren’t too interesting either)

Sylar and Adam are amazing – and it’s a downright shame they decided to kill off Adam :\ It’s good to see that they’re going with another new villain in this season. Hopefully this means that Sylar won’t step into the “villain” role at all this season ^_^ Not that I dislike Sylar – he’s my absolute favorite character. And I just love him as a villain… but let’s face it, we’ve seen enough of him as a villain. I’m not saying he should become the Clark Kent-esque character he was in Volume 3 (though I wouldn’t complain at all if that happened), but I do think the writers should explore him more as a hero than they have previously.

Mike June 2, 2009 at 2:57 am

Thanks SK74, I kind of thought it was that.

It looks like they added Arthur just to take away Peter’s powers, they probably couldn’t think of a better way to do it. But they could probably make some good stories from his past when they revisit the past.

I do think they need to back off of Sylar a little bit, they are going to run out of story lines for him.

kara June 6, 2009 at 5:32 am

peter is totally my favorite character :) i’m sure they won’t kill off sylar- he’ll snap out of it !

sarah180 June 6, 2009 at 5:35 am

i liked adam &claude :) they were funny

Tarot June 6, 2009 at 4:58 pm

@sarah180

Claude is Awesome. Adam was amusing but sadly Arthur killed him.

Cmaster#1HeroesFan June 6, 2009 at 5:47 pm

Adam Monroe was cool. He didn’t need to die! Matter of fact, neither did Nathan!

Tarot June 6, 2009 at 5:52 pm

@ Cmaster#1HeroesFan, it wasn’t up to us though :(

sarah180 June 7, 2009 at 5:46 am

i know- sucks that we can’t choose what happens! that would be cool :)

Andy June 7, 2009 at 3:02 pm

Ok, it seems like a lot of people don’t want Peter to get his original abilities back, while a lot do.

My take on this, I definitely think he should get his abilities back. However, in order to balance this, the writers would need a powerful villain to compensate (preferably NOT Sylar), and expand the other characters more.

I, personally, had no problems whatsoever with Peter being more or less an idiot. In fact, I like his character more when he’s like that – he’s too battle hardened in Season 3, and the show lacks that innocence that it had in Seasons 1 and 2 because of it. Having Hiro be the dreamer that he is, doesn’t compensate for Peter’s loss of naivety. The show has too dark of an edge to it, without childlike characters to lighten it up. Hiro and Peter were those characters. They were also the most powerful – which plays into the whole childish aspect of them, that they’re essentially children dreaming of being superheroes, and they are essentially the “supermen” of the show.

What made Season 1 work so well was that it took normal, everyday people, placed them in extreme jeapordy, brought them together, and through their connection to one another were able to affect the world and build a brighter future than the one that threatened to corrupt and destroy them. Some would argue that’s a very naive concept.

And yet, this is something that even Steven Spielberg claims to use in his films – the idea of taking extreme innocence, and placing it in extreme danger, and overcoming it.

Peter and Hiro were those extreme innocents. And because of their undying naivety and childishness, they were the most powerful of all the characters.

I’m not saying that the other characters should be ignored – far from it. But to say you don’t like Peter because he’s too naive is missing the point that he’s the dreamer. He’s supposed to be naive. He’s that little boy who wishes he was someone important. Who believes he can “save the world”. And what makes Season 1 an optimistic story is that he can.

Without their powers, Hiro and Peter can’t really do much to save the day. Even though, they do in season 3, it comes at tremendous cost. Peter loses his brother. Hiro sacrifices his health. And all in all, the show takes on a much darker and more depressing tone.

I know there are a lot of fans that enjoy darker stories, and I admit, I do too at times. But with Heroes, and with the initial message in season 1, about how we can save the world and how the future isn’t written in stone, the depressing feel of Season 3 doesn’t mesh.

sk74 June 8, 2009 at 1:06 pm

@ Andy
I have to say, you make some interesting and valid points. I agree with what you say, about the whole innocence thing, but in Peter’s case I think he had to wise up a bit. After all, people are supposed to learn and characters are supposed to grow and change. Peter can still be a dreamer and keep his naivety to some degree, but if he didn’t learn anything from such classic moves as:

1) Give your Father a hug…
and later…
2) Give your Brother a hug… zzzap!

… then he’d have to be a complete plonker – and someone THAT stupid + TOO much power = DISASTER!!!

Also, to refer back to the themes of S1… remember that the hero’s journey is not easy, and over the course of time there will be changes both good and bad. Maybe somewhere along their respective journeys Peter and/ or Hiro might get their full powers back – and maybe they won’t. Maybe there’ll be another Eclipse and everyone loses their powers again forever lol! (That would be the lamest way to end Heroes – the fade to black screen :)

heroesfan#16 June 9, 2009 at 10:35 pm

im just curious
do you think that the villain is the character returning from the dead.
and maybe it’s peter’s and nathan’s dad that’s the villain. he did have alot of powers
he was shot on the bak of his head yah but look how many times sylar has been shot or hit or watever at the bak of his head

heroesfan#16 June 9, 2009 at 10:36 pm

o and btw does anyone know when it’s coming out

sarah180 June 13, 2009 at 3:19 pm

i hope they don’t bring arthur petrelli back- that storyline is over, and he was sort of a boring villan anyway. i do hope that peters powers come back though. maybe all peter needs to do is become more empathetic again, like he was in season 1, and that will get his powers back.

Cmaster#1HeroesFan July 20, 2009 at 5:45 pm

To ‘Tarot’, Yes, it is!

Tarot July 21, 2009 at 12:57 am

@Cmaster#1HeroesFan 07.20.09 at 5:45 pm

Since when is it up to us? Where are you getting that info from? Plenty of people adored Isaac in season 1 and they killed him. No one gave ME a say as to whether Nathan or Adam died. I was part of the “save Nathan Petrelli group” that formed before season 3, volume 3 started and they killed him anyway! If they kill Claude I may just kill myself.

sk74 July 21, 2009 at 5:28 pm

@Tarot
Woah… that’s a bit drastic! Remember, if they kill Claude (or anyone for that matter) it’s worth sticking around coz it MIGHT just be a CBD (Comic Book Death, i.e. he might ‘get better again’ – you get me?)

Tarot July 22, 2009 at 1:37 am

sk74 They’ve had too many CBD’s and I don’t trust that his would be one of those, especially after the nightmare I had back on 8 February 2009. Were I in the Heroesverse, instead of watching it on TV etc., I would not hesitate to put my life on the line to save Claude.

Tarot July 22, 2009 at 12:13 pm

@sk74 also when I find stuff like this: http://www.ugo.com/channels/filmtv/features/whodiesonheroes/?cur=Claude-Rains

It’s hard not to fear for Claude’s safety. Also when Cmaster#1HeroesFan comes around says it’s up to us who dies, then I have to take a stand.

sk74 July 22, 2009 at 5:35 pm

@Tarot
I just clicked the link and skimmed thru what they had to say about three characters (Claude, D.L. and Ando).

Firstly, I wouldn’t worry much, coz that info is waaayyyy back (relevant to S1). Things have changed since then (new Company now, so Claude doesn’t even have to hide from his former employers really… Peter isn’t being tracked like he was back then coz he’s no longer the Bomb, so any affiliation that Claude might again have with Peter in the future might not be so fraught with danger… etc.)

Also, Ando is STILL alive – for now – (and he only just recently got a power) but he has a Death Probability of 80%! D.L. has a DP of just 60%, but he bit the dust a long time ago. Claude’s DP is 75% – closer to Ando than D.L. – but I wouldn’t read TOO much into those figures anyway.

Tarot July 22, 2009 at 11:51 pm

@sk74 the link may be to an old article but where is Cmaster#1HeroesFan getting his(?) info from that it’s up to us who dies? If that’s true then I HAVE to take a stand.

sk74 July 23, 2009 at 12:05 pm

@Tarot
I reckon he was just joking… Tim Kring and the writers might very well get to hear some feedback from fans, but the end decision is theirs.

Maya wasn’t a popular character, and there were countless hordes of (non) fans baying for her death… but she has only been depowered… and she has been ‘written to the side’ (GNs?) in a way that means that she could still be brought back, powers or not. The fans didn’t get their wish… although she is off the screen – for now.

Claire isn’t all THAT popular… and yet she remains with us (sigh)… lol! Again, no fan’s wish has come true lol!

A majority of people want Peter to get his powers back YESTERDAY!!! (I’m actually not too bothered about it ATM.) But, fans have to be patient until it happens (I’m sure it will someday).

Claude is a VERY popular character, and if they wanted to kill him off rather than bring him back they could have had Bennet and the Haitian finish him off on the Devaux rooftop or something IMO. But, I understand your concerns… they seem to kill off all the good characters, or introduce/ bring back a character/ concept/ plot device… only to kill it off shortly after! But with Claude, I have a feeling that his popularity ALMOST rivals Peter’s, and especially since he has been absent for SO long from the show. Even the writers, with their sometimes-shortsightedness can’t fail to clearly see that Claude is one of their trump cards, along with Peter finally getting his powers back… just two things that a lot of fans want to see the most in the show.

If they kill Claude, they drive another nail into the Heroes coffin IMO. Matter of fact… “Save the Invisible Man, Save the Show” LOL!

Now THERE’S a slogan for a campaign! :)

Tarot July 23, 2009 at 2:54 pm

Well my own personal slogan is “Save the invisible man, save the seer!”

sarah180 July 26, 2009 at 1:06 am

yeah, they should definately bring back claude and give peter his powers back- the show hasn’t been as interesting lately.

sarah180 July 28, 2009 at 5:18 am

hey, does anyone know when season 3 comes out on dvd?

kara August 2, 2009 at 10:24 pm

september 1st i think

Davy August 3, 2009 at 3:05 pm

if you want a super villain
get HRG to use his knowledge and training to get something

or maybe let him go head to head with say Angella Petrelli

he knows a lot of villians and their abilities…so he can start to manipulate them

that will give us a new and more interesting story line……

Know why Small Ville is keeping up….the villain “Luther” has no abilities only knowledge about them. so he can keep manipulating them….

sarah180 August 6, 2009 at 4:10 pm

hey, that might actually be a good idea, but i’m not so sure that the writers will be all that keen on turning HRG full on evil.

bdsns84 August 22, 2009 at 2:50 am

O.K.-with the whole Peter problem, just think of X-Men. If we give Peter the ability to take as many powers as he can, then they can just balance it out with him losing the powers he has absorbed after like say a 24 hour period. Or even think of it as a “window of opportunity”, that could come in handy in a large scale situation.
For the rest of the cast, I like the idea of groupish kind of things. Like a group of actual Heroes(I mean for god’s sakes, the show is called Heroes not follow the charcters and watch them die!) and a group of villians to go at it for a bit. But not fully because then it becomes to comic-booky and less like real life for them.

sarah180 September 2, 2009 at 8:38 pm

hey i just saw a clip for volume 5 and it looks like it might actually be good, or at least better than s.3. !

sk74 September 4, 2009 at 11:33 am

@sarah180… What?!? S3 was pretty damn good – especially the last half of Fugitives right up to the end!

But, yes, the coming season does look very promising.

sarah180 September 8, 2009 at 10:00 pm

i thought s.3. was ok. some of the episodes were really good, but there were some boring ones too… im really excited for s.4.!
