Open Discussion: Who’s Nathan’s Shooter?
Yesterday, we have posted the new Season 3 behind the scenes promo. It looks like that the video could be more spoilerific than we thought.
At the 20 second mark it looks like that the individual in the baseball hat is none other than Nathan’s brother Peter!? Is ” Future Peter Nathan’s shooter ? ( spoilers bellow )

Why would he shoot Nathan?
It looks so awfully like Peter that I’m starting to believe it might be, but I can’t begin to figure out why he would have used such drastic measures, He’s practically invincible.
Clues
- A camera records Nathan’s conversation with Matt and Pete in the vault. The camera is Company property.
- We see, in those previews, Peter in a baseball cap.
- We see a man, at the end of season 2 leaving the scene after Nathan is shot.
- In the comics, we know that the Company had (and maybe still has) in its employ, Donna, who can make impossible shots from a very large distance. Imagine what she could do with a sniper rifle.
- The casting call for episode 1 of season 3 looks for an ” doctor tending to a seriously injured patient “. So it still looks as if, whoever shot Nathan, was aiming to kill
Theory
Nathan was shot by Donna, who is still in the employ of the Company. She’s really far away. Peter, goes back in time to place himself in the audience room to see who shot Nathan. To avoid freaking out people, because there would be two Peters in the same room, he wears a baseball cap to minimally disguise himself. Nathan is shot and Future Peter with a baseball cap realizes that the shot came from outside, so he walks out to confront the shooter who is probably Donna.
Mysterious shooter doesn’t run to make sure he discovers the shooter. But then again, Peter has so many powers that he doesn’t have to hurry up to do anything. He can walk calmly into a situation because, let’s face it, he’s practically invincible. [ by AgentHavoc ]

KIDDING! But that is an amazing theory. I had a feeling they were introducing Donna and Evs for a specific reason, not just to show more info on the company.
When I first saw “Powerless” I’d thought HRG shot Nathan. Some have even suggested that Claude shot Nathan, but Matt saw whoever it was. Those stills looks suspiciously like Peter. I like the “Future Peter looking for the Shooter” theory. If Donna shot Nathan, then that explains the glasses in that drawing.
you say the shot came from outside.
however, we clearly heard the shots in the last episode.
sound would not have traveled that far, if the shot came from an outside source.
Nice, I like the idea that the guy in the basball cap wasn’t the one who shot Nathan, but looking for the shooter.
Peter shot Nathan. Nathan’s in on it - no ‘Donna’ or anyone else.
(Watch the interview on this site, Adrian Pasdar laughs and acknowledges the “Bullet-Proof Vest Theory”, indicating Nathan knew, or at the very least expected, someone to take a shot - and no he’s didn’t wear the vest on a chance, he knew because he’s in on it.) Perception is Everything.
The ‘good guys’ are as much up to something as the ‘bad guys’ - we will see this in the first episode. The ‘good guys’ are trying to get the upper hand, and Angela sets the ‘villians’ from level 5 detention @ the Company free to throw a wrentch into our ‘heroes’ plans.
Expect, as they said in the promo, that those who had previously sided with the ‘good guys’ or the ‘bad guys’ will find themselves having to switch sides - Mohinder being one, he’s “gone off the reservation” and will never be the same.
By the way, don’t forget our ‘heroes’ in the future … we will see them, all of them, in the latter half of “Villians”. I’m hearing present ‘heroes’ will need the help of our future ‘heroes’ to defeat the ‘villians’.

The cast of Heroes have promised fans a much “darker” third season.
Following negative reaction to last year’s strike-shortened run, the show’s cast have admitted that the upcoming season will see a change in tone.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura), said: “Some heroes might become villains, some villains might be heroes, who knows?”
Adrian Pasdar (Nathan Petrelli) backed up Oka’s statement, adding that the new season would feature characters switching sides.
“I think they want to focus on the people who appear to be heroic and do things for good, who may not be who they appear to be and vice versa,” he said.
“This season is going to focus more on the darker side of the heroic coin.”
It looks like some villians are turning good.

I just saw the interwiev ‘access hollywood and it seems like Nathan And Niki will be together in the show, said Ali Larter ’some characters you would never expect to be together will be together’ and than they hugged (Adrian and Ali) saying isn’t honney?
OMG that would mean that Niki and Nathan will have a relationship!

I suppose that some heroes will realize that they are wasting their powers and will protect the world… There has to be a group to protect people from villains!

more than anything, we’ve already seen Peter be the “bad guy” (in the 5 Yrs Gone, or w/e episode)
what i want to know, is what really happened in the 5yrs we missed.
Hiro was referred to as General, in that episode.
stating that “we lost.”
and Peter, in his older version… was not just more powerful, but a bitter man.
more than anything, i want the writing to link between the possible outcome that could happen, between now and those 5yrs.
(a side note, on that episode… Adams blood was able to heal Nathan from all harm… so why would Peter have a scar, when he clearly had the Claires power)

Well about the possible Nathan + Nikki relation may work, cause they are attract each other since episode 1×05 Hiros, and remember 2×07 Out of Time when they meet again, there is chemistry on this two characters, who know, perhaps mysteriusly Nikki is pregnat of Nathan ^-^, in four months maybe the child is still on process, but if she ever was then Mohinder could know if she was because of her test with the Shanti Virus, who knows, maybe her possible ^-^ just kiding unborn child has the hability to protect what is near him, like a barrier, I mean, it produces a shield, that hability may be cool, that may be a reason of how Nikki could survive the explosion, because her possible unborn child has this hability in the process, it protected Nikki… wow if that happen, and maybe the baby isnt infected because it is protected inside her, because of the barrier that the baby produces, and is undetected too, becuse is protected, like the power shield of Invisible Woman of F4, but without having invisibility like Claude, and that any ability cant break the shield, even a nuclear explosion cant, but only works against out side the shield but inside the source of the shield is unprotected…
Nathan flight and possible wind caster + Meredith pyrokinesis = Claire Rapid Cell Regeneration
Nikki super strenght + DL pashing = Micah Technopath
& now Nathan flight + Nikki super strenght = ? shield barrier ^-^, hope that, Pasdar and Larter make good chemistry on their characters, but that could make Nathan have more kids, what an affair guy he is, now that in the spoiler he gave us fans that he being a father would be very important, this possiblility could be one of them dont u think…
And about Nathan’s shooter, If it is Peter, I saw that coming, but what could be the reason, Peter is a perfect candidate for that, possible that he becomes a Villian, but obviusly he will become a Hero again, but what is the reason for him doing that to the one he matters most and like Nathan has the same feelings for Peter, now that he answer his feelings for Peter that he was longing for, could something bad happen in the future, could be related to Caitlin, who knows, will just wait 4 months and see for ourselves, and about the scar, how Peter had it, did Hiro’s sword injured him, make the Kensei sword the only weapon that prevents Rapid Cell Regeneration, that if you get injured with that, your wound wont heal, for the ones that posses it…
Peter is invincible, thats right but he is also invisible! he can be invisible and walk straight out without anyone noticing him.
its a cool theory, but i just can’t wait for the truth!! the premiere of the third season is gonna be a smash hit! imagine how many people will be watching it! i’m sooo excited

so far, we have seen no hints of this happening… (and it would be QUITE LAME!!)
i think you’re connecting the dots to closely to Wolverine and the MURAMASA blade…
think about it.
if they writing would go that sour… and connect straight into the comics(from which they’re getting their ideas from…
i would honestly stop watching.
because what would hold them back from simply taking Claire and submitting her to the Weapon-X program, that the company “has.”
so no… the Kensei blade having that sort of power… no…

remember how Hiro even said to Ando when he took him back to Japan… (in the final episode of season 1)
“its not the sword. it is the man.”
thus telling you that the sword truly has NO power.
*something i cant wait for… something i am expecting… is for Peter to learn how to control his power.
so far, he has been able to control powers he is able to absorb.
but what about him controlling his power… in a way where he can choose whether or not he will absorb someones ability.
that would put the cherry on top.
and where the HELL is that chick he picked up, and left in the future?
In that future episode where peter has the scar…in that time line Peter never saved Clair, so he wouldn’t have had the regeneration. Clair turned out to be alive in the future because they saved her in the past….it’s kind of confusing but it makes sense. That future Hiro says he cut Sylar, but Sylar regenerated.
Time travel is confusing enough as it is, so it just looks like that’s just the writer’s way of explaining how changing the past affects the future. Also that future won’t happen now because they’ve changed so much stuff in the past…especially because Peter didn’t blow up New York. Every time they change the outcome of the past, it basically writes a new future. Time travel is nuts. But anyways, the future heroes will basically be from a different “time line,” if that makes any sense.
And I don’t know how Peter would have tried to shoot Nathan. Because why would Angela say on the phone “I know, it was inevitable”…saying something like that sort of links her to the actual shooting. If that actually was Milo in the hat…he might have been filming that part of the “shooter” just to save time searching for another actor/extra…because they might not have actually cast the “shooter” guy yet. Kind of like the picture of Arthur Petrelli, how it’s all blurry so if he comes up in the future they can kind of put the new actor in without there being a huge difference from the original Company picture actor’s face/features.

and well, if time is a constant, and if destiny does exist… then Nathan HAS to die(i know hes coming back)
but he HAS to die… because in the 1st possible future outcome, Sylar kills Nathan. Just how he killed Candice Wilmer… in that possible outcome, becoming president.
so now that THAT has happened…

but think about it, everyone is betting on the wrong brother.
considering that Peter already had his thing with NIKKI… right?

because when you think about it… DL already died… and now micah is next.
in Generations… i wanted them, sooooo bad… to explore the option… of Hiro being the root cause of the Shanty virus by preventing Peter from ever exploding.
and in order to save 97% of human population… was to allow the death of .07%
(and them exploring the possibility that the hero Hiro wanted to be… is actually the cause for everything going wrong)
then again… its not gonna happen… but that would be nice.

They saved New York. There will be a completely different future. The Future Hiro who told Peter to save the cheerleader on the subway? We can assume he doesn’t exist anymore because Peter DID save her that time around.
Future Hiro may well feature in Season Three… but it won’t be the same Future Hiro… right?

Maybe its Peter’s Evil twin?
Well, all comments fit on possibilities in the show, but a problem, we are not the writers, we write what we hope to see in the show, like we want to see what future lies for our beloved characters.
For Peter becoming evil is not a bad idea, but it wouldn’t be him, I mean, we need to see him developt Nikki’s hability, right, remember that Jessica rised for protect her, until Nikki became one with her, because she’s now becomes strong, remember Jessica telling Nikki that she does what she does because Nikki isnt strong, and in 1×23 she becames stronger then her, becoming one now, its like Jessica rises until Nikki gets her goal, she wanted to be strong, Jessica was like a support, even when doing bad things, Nikki wanted to be strong for Micah, remember Jessica did what she did for Nikki and Micah, but for the record, why Gina awakened, and who is the other personality that attacked Bob and Mohinder in season 2. Remember the 1st promo of VILLAINS, that any of the characters may become a villain, for me possibles are Peter, besides maybe many alterations of DNA of the habilities may affect him, just like Sylar, but he need a support, remember 2×03, when he was about to kill Will in Ireland, he wanted to kill him, his look was like he was enjoying killing him, but Caitlin stoped him, telling her he wanted to kill him, my guess that others that calm him down may be Nathan, Claire and Angela, specially Nathan, like in 2×08 and 2×11, because in all season 1 all that Peter wants is Nathan’s answer that he loves him, like in 1×01 Angela says him, that he sees him like a Hero and that his feelings for him where never answered.
About Villains of the HEROES that are shown in the promo, possible that fit is Peter because of the multiple persona hability, it has become a classic this days that the main characters becomes evil, like Anakin Skywalker becoming Dark Vader, Peter Parker with the Black Suit, or of CLAMP’s Syaoran of Tsubasa Chronicle that results that is a clone and the one that look to be the bad one is the good one and the original. Claire I dont think soo, who knows, but if she is her enemy could be the COMPANY in order to save HRG, but hope she stills accept Nathan like his father, but that he wont replace HRG. Nathan, hope not, he was almost a villain like Hiro said in season 1, soo let the poor man live more time, poor Pasdar in almost all the films I have seen of him he is being killed, poor guy, get him a chance will ya, to stay till the end, and hope he has control of the wind or control of the weather better. Nikki, hope not, she was almost a villains as well in season 1 working for Linderman, Nikki may not be a villains, only her other personas, she may become one if Micah dies, but dont thinks soo that, if Micah dies, she will follow her wish, same for Monica. And Hiro, now that he is CEO of Yamagato and having a Nemesis Daphne makes dificult for him becoming a villain yet, besides he has his partner Ando, and hope he is not the third brother.
Talking about Sylar he has no more has Candice’s hability, remember when he killes her and see how her mind works it doesnt work, because he doesnt have his hability because of the Shanti Virus, and DL is dead too, soo no more of the habilities that he had in the dark future os season 1, that future is dead, or who knows, maybe in a diferent space exist where all the HEROES are dead and Sylar controls the world, but who knows, besides all changed, then what about Adam, he should be in that future as well. Candices/Michelle/Betty power may still work, who knows, he saw her mind, perhaps now that he has his powers back he may have control of her power. Being the third brother may fit him.
About the idea of the future, is an alternate future, a diferent one, similar like Dragon Ball Z with Trunks, remember that the present and the future were diferent. Soo thats what happened, like the time and space where affected it affected that future, It may still exist, eve Caitlin may be alive in a future of the Shanti Virus, who know, besides, when Peter when to the future in season 2, the he should have been in the future that Hiro went in season 1, which means the future has changed again, soo, in season 3 there is a new future.
Hope we see new habilities, there are some that I would what to see, like the ones I have mentiones, one that allows you body become one with elements, like making weapons with diverse body elements, or like creating a shield that protects what is inside, i mean the source of it, those would be awsome, and that the habilities doesnt affect the shield, neither could an atomic bomb.
Future Hiro of season 1 is dead, so he cant come back, only a new Hiro of a season 3 future could, but it may be different of the one of season 1…
For me anothet insane idea, well, mine was worst of putting Nikki being pregnant with Nathan and having a son that his hability could be a shield barrier hability, is that Nathan know that he was about to bee shoot, that would fit at all, but is HEROES many things may change, and that Peter knew, well, it didnt look like in 2×11 when Nathan is shoot that he was waiting for that to happen, even Peter that was in terror in that moment, besides Peter doesnt have Candice’s hability, and Nathan bleed in Peter’s arms, they didnt expected that to happen for the looks of it, besides another crazy idea of the one that shoot Nathan could be himself of the future, because what he could done it may affect billions, who knows, but for my point of view, Peter wouldnt never do that too him, neither Nathan hurt his brother, I love this brother relationship duo ^-^.
My guess of the one that shoot Nathan, is Peter of another time, Nathan of another time, some messenger of the COMPANY, or perhaps the 3rd brother, because it looks like that Angela knows the attacker when they spoke on the cellphone.
i mentioned Future Hiro… because… (and i didnt want to post this w/o a link, but i cant f’ing find it)
i dont know exactly who was interviewed… if it was the Tim Kring, or Pasdar, or Ventimiglia…
and im more than sure it was Tim Kring… (youtube or such)
in this interview… he mentioned that “the characters in Villains are going to be well developed… blah blah… that we will know who the evil villan’s will be RIGHT OFF THE BAT…
and we will see Future Hiro make a return in the very beginning.”
regardless of having seen future hiro die in one of the ‘possible’ futures…
the point is that Hiro is still alive, and apparently he is still going to turn into what we saw once.
just like MABK, wont stop talking about a pregnant nikki… i will NOT let go of the possibility that destiny place a huge part in this series.

jane doe, u r right, I know that idea of mine about Nikki being pregnant is silly, but lets forget about that, there’s another bad news, is a spoiler given on heroeswiki, is that Sylar kill one of the shows most popular character, which name is not revealed, and that we can imagine what he does after that, noooooooooooo, please, dont, If its Adam fine for me, but not Elle please, not Elle, nor Peter, Claire, Nathan, Niki, Hiro, Matt or Mohinder, included HRG, but not Elle, those are the shows favorites, or, no, not Angela too, Claude perhaps, hope not, we love him T-T, who do you consider the shows most popular, mines are Peter and Nathan, I dont know your choice… hope at least the ones that last longer r the 7 originals…, but please not Peter, well, he is a hard catch, maybe is him, hope his head regenerates again, Nathan again hope not, they keep killing the poor guy, give him a break, at least put Claire of Hiro in perill, Niki hope not, Matt, perhaps, now that he is more powerful, but hope not, Mohinder, the poor is terror now… well, all we have to do is wait…

the series has been centered around different characters…
i honestly cant stand nikki and micah…
i rather they be gone FOR SURE
so they can focus on Peter/Hiro storylines…
so as far as most popular… either of those 2.
i realllllly wanted them to show us who the real characters behing the syndicate…or w/e were… in the off season…
but this didnt happen because of the strike and all…

something else that got me mad… however… was pretty impressive…
was the fact that Isaac Mendez is able to predict… not just the future…
but possible outcomes.
I think pehaps that sylar kills Micah because his storyline is getting boring so he could kill micah getting rid of a main character and then use Micahs power to do what he likes.
i doubt the network executives are ever going to allow that to happen…
but quite honestly… i cant stand the nikki/micah storyline.

and well… i guess Nikki is coming back… but more than anything… i want their dumb ass story like gone, so that they can focus on bigger better things.
the spoiler about a popular hero getting killed is most likely Peter or Hiro. Al though Peter can regenerate so I don’t think it could be him, so it’s Hiro I guess or Nathan or Matt or Nikki. I liked the Dl/Nikki/Micah storyline it was more down to earth and i thought a super family idea was cool. Nikki storyline was getting pretty annoying and Micah’s so i agree with you there since they killed Dl, i think they should end their storyline now.
With that said i can move unto the theory above. Looking at he pictures that does look like Peter. But I am just wondering how they gonna do that Peter and Future Peter. Well writer’s knows best
-.- I can’t belive that people hate niki’s storyline. Anyways I belive that the hero getting killed is Elle. The spoiler said a popular hero I know many people have said that her charcater has saved season 2 yes its true that this will be Elle’s last season as kristen bell has said that she is going to take on new projects. As for the person in the video I do not belive he is the shooter I don’t recall the shooter wearing a hat but please correct me if I’m wrong. For people asking for storylines to end so some charcaters can have a slightly more screen time dosnt make sense Heroes needs all its storylines for it to be Heroes. So far I have not been disapointed in any storyline with the exception of Hiro’s in season 2. I belive that the writers can make every single story line to what you people consider intresting again in villains. Back to the shooter if Donna dose turn out to be the shooter how will she fit into Villains?
Donna might have been dead by the moment the show comes back, we always said that some of the graphic novel characters will appear on the show, but that may not happen at least Hana, that appeared in only 2 episodes, the rest of her was graphic novel, and she dies in the novel, and speaking about Donna, remember that Thompson Jr finds one of Isaac’s paintings of her dead. For the record Nikki’s story isnt boring, and she is one of the characters that should last the show since she is one of the 7 originals, along with Peter, Claire, Nathan, Hiro, Matt and Mohinder… and the character to die possible is Elle or Angela, if it about the butterfly effects episode, probably all characters will die and claire will bring them back… some times I wonder, I f the video game ever comes, Claire will be between the imortal character and the healer character, instead of cheerleader she could be a nurse for now ^-^…

Wow the future Hiro part is very confusing! Since Peter didn’t explode on land in the finale of season 1, doesn’t it mean the future has changed? So why is badass future Hiro making an appearance? The keyword here is “badass”. This means the original future Hiro we see in Season 1. Even if he comes back, shouldn’t he be dead? Yea, you might argue that the future has changed, but since its changed it MUST be another future Hiro! But it seems like the original one.
REMEMBER, in season 1’s “Five Years Gone” chapter, future Peter said Hiro turned so obsessed with stopping the bomb is becaused Ando died due to the explosion.
Since the explosion didn’t take place, Ando didn’t die, why is future Hiro still the original one? Why isn’t he dead?
Not necessarily so much dead as a paradox, heroesultrafan . Though something could still happen to make Hiro become someone very like “Badass Future Hiro.”

I believe that were going to see a lot of alternative future scenes in season 3. Scene where Ando is about to be struck by a car could be the one… Hiro turns evil… it makes sense ( at least a little bit)…

The original plan was that I to participate in discussion but I wasn’t able because as I mentioned before - I had some problems with my PC.
In my opinion one of Elle, Mohinder or Claire could be next Sylar’s victim.
Nathan should be alive within the first two episodes, so i don’t believe it’s going to be him….

i doubt it’ll be claire… Matej. simply because she is rooted into the mythology of the show.
it would be nice to have her be dispensed with(along with others i have mentioned which need to go)
however, Sendhil Ramamurthy, mohinder, has already filmed episodes for this upcoming season… so who knows.
im fully excited, and im already preparing a full blown geek party for the premier!!

I presume that Niki should stay… why?
Well, she as a character has a lot to offer, it’s not her fault that she was set in this possition for season 2… Kinda disappointing but still great… As they say that they will be back to style of season one it shoul be great…
So I think that the writers have done something really clever to keep niki inn the show and use her in differnt way. Firt they killed DL now they say Micha will die… So we are only left with Niki who in fact can realy be extraordinary…
I wan’t to see Niki as a heroe and Still jessica as Villain; I can imagine the building or a towe falling and Niki keeping it up just to save people or Niki stopping driving bus by going on it’s front, JUST LIKE SUPERMAN…
Besides the thing with Niki and Nathann being together is great… Wonder what will they do?
Also I am concerned how Niki will behave knowing that Micha is dead…

Imaghine Nik or Jessica getting all the money Linderman had and becoming a powerful tower in the world… I can’t imagine this… It’s not in the style of writers and I cannot see Niki being like Linderman.

the end of season 2 done what any great series does left me wanting more.i think the person who shot nathan is his dad.i think his dad is not dead and he is something like peter.and by the way we have not heard what powers peter’s mother has yet.

Hmm. Even if the shooter in those images above is “Peter,” isn’t it possible that it’s actually anybody else with a shapeshifting ability? We don’t really know if Sylar has that ability or not, what with the Shanti virus and all.
I’d say that there’s a possibility of it even being a future Sylar. We’ve already seen one future Sylar pretending to be Nathan, who’s to say that in the future of the current Heroes world (post season two, that is) Sylar doesn’t kill Hiro or Peter or somebody else who can bend time.
Granted, it’s a little contrived, yet it seems possible. I can see them not revealing it until around halfway through the season, probably then leading into a Sylar vs. Sylar battle?
I believe that everyone is getting a little off track when it comes to the time travel stuff. I want to make a few points here that we know are true before we jump right into the speculation:
1) Present Hiro has seen the future version of himself and thought he looked cool, so no matter how many times they change the future, when Hiro comes back in time to the present, he is going to look like that. That being said, the “Future Hiro” everyone keeps referring to will NOT have had the same experiences as the one we saw last season.
2) When time travel is used to change an event in the past, it creates a ripple effect, with the changes growing larger and larger over a longer period of time. Hence the title of the first episode of season 3 “The Butterfly Effect” One event, i.e. stepping on a butterfly, will change one outcome, then that outcome will change 2 other outcomes, then those 2 outcomes will change 4, then 16, then so on and so forth. That means the greater the amount of time that passes between when an event was changed in the past and the present, the more outcomes it will touch and change. The reason I bring this up is because everyone seems so obsessed with people from the future coming to the present to change things, they are completely forgetting that last season Hiro went over 400 years into the past and changed the outcomes of some pretty significant events, and more importantly changed the life of a man that could live over the span of that 400 years and continually change events from the original timeline. They mentioned last year that we have not even begun to see the effects of Hiro’s little adventure in the past and what it will mean to the present. I guess I’m trying to get everyone to look at the facts of what we already know instead of taking these bits and peices of spoilers we are being fed and running wild with speculation. I believe that Hiro’s trip to the past will play a bigger role than anyone coming back from the future.
3) We know from the graphic novels that one of Adam Monroes names over the span of that 4 hundred years was Sanders, i.e. Niki Sanders. We also know that he took at least 10 wives during that time span, and had children with all of them. Adam, like Adam from the bible, could be the very FIRST super human, and the direct decendant of every single hero on the show.
4) We do NOT have ANY evedince as of yet that a couple that has ONE powered person and ONE NON-powered person being able to have a child that has powers. Then only sets of parents where we have met BOTH parents for sure, have BOTH been powered. Arthur and Angela Petrelli, Nathan and Clair’es Pyro-kenetic mother, DL and Nikki. We do NOT know for sure if Hiro’s mom had powers or not, we have NOT met Matt Parkman’s mom, we know the Haitian’s DAD had powers, but we never met his mom in the graphic novels. I bring this up because Linderman went to great lengths to set Niki and DL up to have a child together, and perhaps that is because he knows it takes two heroes together to make a baby that is a hero. If that turns out to be the case, then it will answer many questions, but also raise a few more. For instance, we HAVE met Sylar’s “mother” and she DEFINITELY didn’t have a power, which would mean that Sylar was NOT her child and is probably the adopted character that E! mentioned in their spoilers today,(oh yeah, if you haven’t read yet, another one of the main characters is adopted, and everyone is speculating Peter). Also, I mentioned that we didn’t know for sure about Hiro’s mom, but if we find out she DIDN’T have powers for sure, then Hiro would have to be a child from Kaito and someone else, perhaps someone like Angela Petrelli, who we KNOW Kaito had an affair with. We never met Sylar’s dad, and we have yet to meet Arthur Petrelli or if he has powers for sure, in fact in the graphic novel where Arthur and Linderman meet in the army, I would say Arthur definitely didn’t have powers at that time because he was so shocked and scared of Linderman’s powers, and at the age they were, I’d say he wasn’t likely to develop them at a later time. We have also seen clips of the new season where Angela and Sylar are very chummy, which leads me to wonder if Sylar is possibly the adopted character and that he was originally Angela Petrelli’s child. If it took two heroes hooking up in order to have a hero baby, wouldn’t that also explain why they seek each other out, why the 12 older heroes gathered together on that rooftop and stayed close to one another. What if they mixed and matched with one another in order to create more babies with various powers, i.e. Angela having children with Kaito, Sylar’s Dad, Nathan and Peter’s ‘real’ dad. Charles Deveaux was a pretty dark black man, and Simone was very light skinned…where was Mrs. Deveaux while her beloved husband was dying? As I said before, if it taking two heros to create a hero baby, it would explain a lot of things, but also raise many questions as to where the “other halves” of these pairings are…….or perhaps they are the people locked up on the 5th level of the company???

Thank you, I really appreciate that. I don’t get on here every day, just from time to time when I find a free minute to read everyone else’s posts. I became president of my company back in December so I have had to stray away from my love of writing and literary criticism. For my senior thesis I argued that tv shows, like heroes, and movies are just as valid of a medium and open for the various schools of literary critique as much as books are. Running a company doesn’t leave me much time to even think about writing myself, so these boards are a good outlet for me.
I would like to cite the heroes wiki to back up the argument in my previous post regarding the need for two heroes to create a child with powers, if you go to their 3rd season spoiler page, there are several quotes from interviews and press releases where they have confirmed that Angela Petrelli has given birth to at least 3 people with powers, so minus Peter and Nathan (if both are really hers) that still leaves another, which could be either Hiro or Sylar or someone else. There is also a quote from the woman who plays Angela Petrelli where she comments that when the 12 older heroes got together, it was back in the 70’s when there was a lot of free love and the woodstock mentality touched even the heroes of the time, which just strengthens my belief that there was some swinging going on between the older heroes in order to create as many children with variations of powers as they could.

I have just a few more points to make regarding my theory about needing two powered people together in order to make a powered child.
1) When you think of the word ‘godsend’ what do you think of? I personally think of children. When you examine the helix symbol that is ever-present in the show, and has actually been in every episode, look closely at the pieces extending out from the “S” shape. There are TWO on one side, one slightly larger than the other (kinda like a man and a woman) and just ONE one the other side. I look at this as possibly meaning it takes two together on one side, to produce just one on the other. The meaning of the helix was intended to be revealed in the “Origins” spinoff, however due to the strike that never happened. Once again, food for thought, and worth taking a closer look at the symbol when you get the chance.
2) Why does the company strictly enforce the “One of us, one of them” policy?? At first I thought it might be because the normal humans just didn’t trust the powered agents, however after thinking about it more logically, there has been a powered person running the company since the beginning. First Linderman, and now Bob. Why would they NOT trust other powered beings? Why even bring normal humans into the fold at all? Is it possible that they pair the powered beings with a normal person so that if they happen to become romantically involved (just like Julien Dumont and Sabine Hazel in the most recent graphic novel) that they will not or rather CAN not create an unauthorized or uncontrolled child with powers? For those that will say, well the Haitian and HRG can’t have children together so why pair them up, I would answer that if you only enforced the “one of us, one of them” policy on male/female partners, then it would be more obvious what the need for the policy is in the first place and I believe this is one of the more closely guarded secrets that the older heroes are aware of, but nobody else.
Once again, trying to work off of facts and symbols we DO know rather than speculate on spoilers. Feel free to punch holes through my ideas, that’s what they’re there for.
i like that theory DC even though i never thought of that when i looked at the helix. I thought it meant something representing superpowered beings and the rest of the human race living together.

coming back to the shooter. the person who shot Nathan was obviously someone who doesnt want the world to know about these para-human abilities. sylar comes to mind. it would be easier for sylar to kill all the ‘heroes’ if the normal people didn’t know about them.
if the world new about the ‘heroes’, they wouldn’t need to stay in hiding - i mean really, sylar cant kill in public.

peter can turn invisible why hide with a baseball cap not to mention he can probably stop time too, so if he is not the shooter but rather there to investigate who shot his brother, why didn’t he stop time in order to capture the killer.
if future peter is the shooter whats the point of going invisible or stopping time when present peter is there it wouldnt work againts him he would still see him and go after him surely even stopping time he could wouldnt be albe to get away, Question: if present peter goes near future peter does he collect any of the powers he has got in the past 4 years.?????
also about the scar, some say kensei sword i dont know maybe peter can only be hurt by peter?
I think the present day peter would collect the future peters powers if they came into contact, which i heard they will do in season three. It was peter who shot nathan i think as it is more or less confirmed in the sneak peek of season three on the bonus features of the season 2 dvd boxset.
I think the scar being the result of the Kensie sword is a really good theory.

DC, you’re forgeting about one thing : the little girl Molly who has the power of finding anyone. We know that when Sylar got into her house killed her father and “toke” his brain, but don’t forget he hasn’t done nothing to her mother. He just killed her.. so I assume she had no power. And still, Molly got a power.
