In the latest issue of TV Guide, Milo Ventimiglia shared some new spoilers for the upcoming season 3.
Here’s what we have learnt:
- A important male character, close to everyone, whose viewers have heard about but have not yet seen, will “relieve people of their powers” in a season where Villains become Heroes And Heroes Villains.
- James kyson Lee ( Ando ) reveals that his character will experience a personal journey to find his own way.
- As for Sylar, don’t believe that he will be set aside this season 3. His character is not as frankly diabolical this year. This season we are all called into question.
Milo also had had an interesting interview with Crave Online. Nothing new exactly but he confirms that he shares most of his screen time with his brother Nathan and that he has done several stunts this season. [ read interview ]

Could this be Arthur Petrelli? He’s the only significant character I can think of off the top of my head who we’ve heard about but not seen, it seems he is going to be important to the story, and he’s arguably close to everyone. Obviously the Petrelli’s (including the two mystery people with Petrelli DNA), Claire, all the Company founders, etc. I guess “close to everyone” is a little useless on Heroes, since everyone seems to be only about 1-3 degrees of separation from everyone else.
I thought so first it could be Arthur. You never know when it comes to Heroes, maybe he relieves it on different time/future …

Here are my guesses:
Arthur Petrelli – He’s one of the 12 founders of the company who most of them have siblings like Bob, Kaito, Angela & Arthur etc
Claude – But he only knows Peter, Noah, The Haitian & Claire
Linderman – Like Arthur, is a founder of the company & knows quite a few of the heroes
If I had to pick one of the above, it wud be either Arthur or Linderman!!

on the other hand Arthur Petrelli has been mentioned several times and is connected to several key people in the show, not to mention a founding member of the infamous ‘company’.

Well Lias, judging by the number of people that take your words as lies (including me!), I also personally agree with them. All Heroes spoilers websites (this is my favourite), doesn’t have any info. on this so-called smith guy. Matej, graphic novels? I don’t think so. I have seen every single novel of Heroes, all 101 up to date, and there is no such guy.

We were all only TOLD that Arthur was dead, having “committed suicide”, by Angela… who you have to admit, is a very devious, secretive and manipulative woman. And I don’t remember anything about any funeral/ cremation for him (although I could be wrong).
My guess is he went a bit psycho (or wanted to shut down the company? Or even stop NYC blowing up in season 1??) and they locked him up in Level 5.
Actually, thinking about it…
Wouldn’t it be interesting if it turned out that Arthur Petrelli DID have the (suspected) power to relieve other characters of their abilities, and wanted to take his son Peter’s power away in Season 1, therefore stopping the bomb and putting an end to Linderman’s (and Angela’s) plans. Remember, both Linderman and Mrs. Petrelli (and the whole Company?) knew about the bomb, and some of them, at least, knew that it was Peter. And actually wanted him to explode. But what if Papa Petrelli actually wanted to stop all that happening?
Since Angela had already been had a previous affair with Kaito, I get the impression that she wouldn’t have much problem with getting hubby out of the picture and locking him away. She probably doesn’t miss him much, and she doesn’t exactly have to struggle to keep food in the fridge. I can see her at least playing some part in Arthur being locked up to further her own plans. She saw Nathan’s shooting as no surprise, and she has told Matt how to deal with Peter if he becomes a threat! But I guess Mother knows best, eh? hahaha!!!

No character named Smith has ever been mentioned on the show. It has to be Arthur Petrelli. Also, someone has been cast for season 3 as Arthur Petrelli. Go to spoilers and you’ll see it, it’s in one of the titles.

I was thinking about if he had the ability to dampen or negate powers (similar to The Haitian, but a more permanent effect?), as opposed to taking powers like Peter or Sylar. Which would mean he wouldn’t actually have people’s powers at his disposal to defend himself with.
Also, I’m sure that The Company founders (or particular ones, at least) would have had strategies on how to deal with each other if any of them became a threat, so Mr. Petrelli’s power would have been taken into consideration.
Dead isn’t exactly “dead” in Hero-verse. If the Company still had Adam locked up when Arthur Petrelli died, why didn’t Linderman and Angela just get a sample of Adam’s blood and bring him back? I’ve always wondered about that.

It seems we all agree that it really only can be Arthur Petrelli. No other characters really come to mind however i do have a sneaky hunch that it could also perhaps be the father of sylar. I mean we have heard about him but not where he is if he’s alive or dead and taking peoples powers can very well run in the Gray family. . .just a theory.

If the rumours about Sylar being the third Petrelli brother are true, then Arthur and Sylar’s father would be one and the same!
To add to my last comment… It makes sense to me that Sylar could have been adopted by the Gray family. If Angela, by way of her precog flashes/ dreams, knew about Sylar’s ability (and let’s face it, she has already said in Season 1 that she knew about Nathan and Peter’s abilities long before they did – or something like that… and also about Claire’s?), and his potential for evil/ hunger for power, it is very feasible that she could have had him adopted. After all, didn’t she engineer Claire’s adoption to keep Nathan on track for his ‘destiny’?

I don’t know s.k.74 it just seems a bit too obvious to me that Sylar is the third Petrelli. My money’s on Hiro though because of Angela & Kaito’s past affair and it does seem like Kaito to raise Hiro (Because he only had a daughter and wanted a male heir to the company.

You could very well be right about Hiro, it does make sense to me. But it has been said that Peter and Nathan will find out about TWO living relatives that they were unaware of.
Now, let’s just say that Hiro is the third son. That still leaves one other.
Looking at the wording again (…LIVING relatives that they were unaware of…), this one other might be none other than their father, Arthur (hey, that all rhymes!). They do, after all, think that their father is dead. Hmmm… maybe it’s all in the way this spoiler has been worded after all… if so, that is very sneaky… I like it!
But, back to Hiro (and Sylar). It has been hinted at that the revelation of the third Petrelli son “will change everything”. That is why it might seem TOO obvious that it could be Sylar, but he fits the bill more than Hiro when you consider it. To back up this train of thought, Angela has said in the past that there is “a dark secret” in the Petrelli family. If Sylar is that dark secret, it would certainly change a lot of things for our heroes… and it might be a good enough reason for Sylar to do some ‘good’ (or not be as evil as before).
I mean, why would he take Claire’s ability and let her live? He would have killed her in the original reality, and in 5 Years Gone he kills her in the future (or does he?) saying that he only wants to “eliminate the competition”. Maybe finding out that he is a Petrelli (and therefore related to Claire, who would be his niece), would ‘change everything’, no?
And last but not least, in the trailer when Angela is confronted by Adam, Tracy, Maury and Knox… Sylar appears behind Angela and grabs her shoulders while looking at the villains. But he does it in a way which, to me, says “Touch my mom and you got me to deal with!” It’s like he’s protecting her. Well, that’s what I read into it anyway.
Whew! After all this, it’ll probably turn out that YOU are the one who’s right, my friend! Guess we can only wait and see, huh…?

You raise a compelling argument for Sylar to be a Petrelli though, it would make things quite complicated for Peter to be related to the guy who killed him…twice. But in regards to him sparing Claire I think the only reason she’s still alive is because she can’t die at least not easily so he just let’s her be. I mean we never know for a fact if she did indeed die in “Five Years Gone”. Here’s something else to chew on, remember in “Company Man” when HRG shot Claude because he was hiding a special. Who could this mysterious new character be and why would Claude risk his life to hide them. Maybe the 4th Petrelli? You never know. . .

Could it have been our number 1 villain… Sylar??? (Back when he was just Gabriel Gray, of course.) Or would that be too obvious/ cheesy/ stupid? It just seems to me that everything and everyone is connected or related in some way, shape or form. And Gabriel Gray DID go unnoticed for a mighty long time by the Company… although Dr. Suresh Snr seemed to find him quite easily eventually.
I’m probably on a totally wrong path to a dead-end with this one, it is just wild speculation! But, hmmmm…. [strokes chin thoughtfully]
Come to think of it, if Sylar IS a Petrelli, that means Angela would have a) known about his ability/ what he would turn out like, and b) made arrangements to have him adopted/ hidden (like with Claire – The Haitian was working for Angela to keep Claire safe, remember?). What if Claude was working for her before he had to disappear? Both he (and the Haitian) have had to work closely with HRG as partners… HRG was the Company’s ‘bag and tag’ man… At the time, Claude would have been the perfect person to protect Gabriel if the Comapny ever found out about him, just as the Haitian was in the perfect position to protect Claire (i.e. HRG gets a mission, his partner knows too).
Still wild speculation, but… HMMMM….? [stroke, stroke]

Alot of evidence points to Sylar being a Petrelli no doubt, but I don’t think he would be the one Claude was hiding because he would have had knowledge of people with abilities then (he would have been a teenager at the time)so it could be the fourth Petrelli or just a whole new character we may hear of or not at all . On a side note I don’t think Arthur is the 4th because they did say it would be a previously unheard of character so it could be a 4th sibling perhaps fathered by Arthur if Sylar’s mother is Angela. And to add to my budding doubts that Sylar is a Petrelli if his Parents were Arthur and Angela why would they feel the need to hide him? And if she did see what he would become why not do anything to stop it? So if he does turn out to be a Petrelli he would have to have been born out of wedlock ( We do know Angela get’s around)and hidden away to prevent a scandal which brings me back to my earlier theory about his father. Phew what do u think?

And as for Claude hiding Sylar, it was just a far out idea of mine, not even really a theory… I wouldn’t buy into it myself, I admit, but the mind boggles… You never know where you are with Angela (or the Company), it seems anything could be possible in her (their) web of deceit.
Saying that… could it be possible that ARTHUR had an affair too? (Out of revenge? He DID know that Angela and Kaito were a bit too close for comfort, so to speak…) His offspring would have had true Petrelli DNA, since Angela wasn’t born a Petrelli, but he was…
Just saying that we’ve been focussing on Ange all this time, but (since we haven’t even seen Arthur yet – out of sight, out of mind) could we have been missing the point all along? Arthur carries the Petrelli DNA, but Angela is only a Petrelli through marriage! And it would be easier for him to cover up having an extra-marital child than Angela since he doesn’t have to carry the kid for 9 months!
(He could even have slept with Gabriel Gray’s mother… no?)

Dock38, neat idea, but I don’t think that was Claude. Angela owned up to stealing the socks for the thrill of it. If she was innocent, why would she do that? Was she covering for him? Why? You’ve got me thinking. Maybe there’s more to that small sock stealing incident in season 1 than anyone realizes.
s.k.74, I’d heard folks thinking it was Sylar whom Claude hid before. There’s a whole list of possibilities over on the Heroes Wiki (the fan run one I believe). I’m hoping they tell us soon. And you could be right about the affairs that Angela and Arthur may have had.
Oh in regards to Ando. I want to find out; his power appears to be red lightning correct.? Is this all he can do or is their something else? Would be a bit of a dissapointment if his is basically the same as Elle’s power.
As to the sock stealing incident. I don’t think it had much to do with the story. However she did say she did it to feel alive again, maybe because she was missing her years with the company when she was doing amazing things instead of organising brunch?
To Tarot and companyman21, I personally think the sock stealing incident meant more than it seemed, I don’t think it was insignificant. But I reckon that it might have been Angela’s way of diverting attention onto herself and away from Arthur’s supposed ‘death’, in some way. Or could she have been worried/ racked with guilt for some reason (maybe Arthur is locked away in Level 5 or something – coz I don’t believe he’s dead for one second – and she had something to do with it?). Or maybe she just wanted to put on a good show for everyone, especially Nathan and Peter, to make it SEEM that she wasn’t handling his ‘death’ very well?
Remember, she is something of a puppeteer, and quite skilled at playing mind games and being manipulative, so I’m sure that she shoplifted for a reason.
And just to point out… She was one of the people (as well as Linderman) that wanted Nathan to win the election, so she wouldn’t have jeopardised that… She must have had some kind of plan/ insight, to make her do such a minor – but potentially damaging, and definitely embarrassing – thing (to Nathan’s campaign) as stealing socks!

is it odd that just after Papa Petrelli died and therefore was not around his sons.. that all of a sudden they just developed thier powers… while mika, molly, elle and to an extent clair all noticed thier powers in youth?? Perhaps, thier dad surpressed thier abilities??

You might be onto something there…
I, myself, thought that Arthur might be the new character that will be “relieving other characters of their powers” (since I don’t believe he was ever dead), but since reading the Graphic Novels, it seems that he might be able to manipulate luck instead (he’s wins every hand when he plays cards). But it is possible that he might still have a second ability – namely, to strip other powers – so we could still be right… in which case, your theory would make perfect sense.
I wish I could have found this website months ago. I’m a little behind so my main question is, what is angela’s power? I remember when she told the cop (can’t remember his name right now) to get out of her head. She could have been thinking that so he hear her. Can she also read minds? Please help

OMFG i cannot believe we finally see her power and at the end we finally see who the other petrelli is. She told Sylar that he was her son. I do not think that it will be Arthur P. I think they were illegitimate children, or maybe just sylar, and we will find a father that has powers. I really wish they would bring back some sembelance of Kaitlyn so that her and claire can fight over peter, i think it would make for a good bit of comic relief in this crazily dramatic season.
