Kaito Nakamura’s Power

by Matej ( Heroes Television)

On Disc 1 of the Season 2 DVD there is a deleted scene in which Kaito Nakamura’s power is revealed.

Most of the scene was featured in Episode 1 but it was shortened to exclude the revelation of his power.

  • Kaito says he can “see the variables of any situation and predict the outcome.” He claims he is faster than a computer and attributes his success in the stock market to this ability.

This has been floating around on YouTube for a couple of weeks, so maybe most of you already heard about this.

so does that mean he can like se the future

rizq August 31, 2008 at 5:46 pm

don’t think so. as we can see, he can only predict, not see the future.

What a lame power :(

jane doe... August 31, 2008 at 6:48 pm

not lame at all…

hence the stock market reference…

tas07 August 31, 2008 at 7:09 pm

its awasome if he can almost instantly and hes in a fight he know the outcome i think its a good power

Sam August 31, 2008 at 7:20 pm

I don’t think this is considered canon, which is why it was left out

he might end up with a completely different power, as truth be told, this one is crap

Brandon Mathewson August 31, 2008 at 9:39 pm

I heard he has more than 1 power, so maybe the 2nd power is way cooler

I wish they hadn’t cut this. That’s a pretty useful power.

OK but how many gifted people from older generation can have ability to predict the future? Also none of them doesn’t have defensive power like telekinesis or super strength. Bob had alchemy. Adam was indestructible and immortal. Victoria was pretty smart (I presume her power was enhanced IQ). Linderman was a healer. Mama Petrelli and Papa Nakamura could put the tarot cards on desk. Mmmmm…. everything sounds good but I want to see something bigger.

There was a movie starring Nicholas Cage where he had a similar power. You might not think much of Mr Nakamura’s power, but once you see it in action, the potential of it, then you’ll realize how awesome it is. To bad Mr Nakamura is dead though.

Bob can change your hands into any metal…Read Graphic Novels ;D

jane doe... September 1, 2008 at 6:05 am

i hear a lot about these graphic novels…

“He can see the variables of any situation and predict the outcome.”

He has intuitive aptitude, just like Sylar.

Ravenz2008 September 1, 2008 at 8:02 am

@Alex

I don’t believe his ability is quite the same as Sylar’s. Sylar can see how things work and how they fit together (and can mimic those things in himself) while Kaito can work out the probabilities of things happening with super speed and efficiency. But….I must admit, this is all speculation on my part and you could indeed be right. That’s the beauty of the show, they could take it anywhere and it could still make sense!

heroesultrafan September 1, 2008 at 8:09 am

Good power…for example, if you’re gonna bet on something you will certainly know which one to bet on.

Tarot September 1, 2008 at 12:45 pm

M, I read Tarot cards, hence the nickname.

genesis September 1, 2008 at 6:04 pm

his power was just cool hearing it i mean now we know what a lame power he really has but hiro has such a cool one but what avout his daughter hiroo’s sister

steve September 1, 2008 at 7:29 pm

looks like a good power 2 me
imagine in a fight have that on 1 – 10 seconds in future; you are untouchable no one would be able to hit you without you knowing where and when the blow would strike, you could dance around them

Michael September 2, 2008 at 5:15 am

One of the previous generations must have had Cyrokinesis
How else could then turn a tsunami into snow
(Was on the show, forgot episode name)

Maury had Mind control, Thats pretty damn awesome, Bob turned a person into gold on the golden goose graphic novels.

Don’t Underestimate powers

Kaito could find out anything really
He could discover whats in the universe, or he could get rich quick.

Hes a Genius. I mean sure its not a physical expensive visual effects power. But its still cool

Actually, it makes a lot of sense for Kaito to have this power. When the Company was new in the 1970s, and the founders thought they were really saving the world, Kaito would have been able to see patterns and predict where trouble might strike – and then he would be able to see how they could step in, change the variables and create a better outcome.

companyman21 September 9, 2008 at 2:15 pm

I agree I think it’s an awesome power. Imagine if your brain worked that fast you could solve almost any problem. wonder what his other powers are though. . .

companyman21 September 10, 2008 at 11:55 am

How are they going to incorperate his power into the show though? Tim Kring did establish that the power is his and should be considered canon then

bulk September 18, 2008 at 11:42 am

his power is prob just being hell good a maths so he can figure out the probability easily

eviltariq September 28, 2008 at 2:08 am

seems like kaito was so harsh on hiro (season 1) cos his powers dictated that hiro would have failed at kirby plaza had he not been.

he could’ve used it to escape his own death, but would hiro have sought out adam and stop the virus without having to avenge his father??

good outcomes from what some say is a rubbish power.
kaito should also be regarded as a strategic genius through this ability

mangaking October 7, 2008 at 10:49 pm

This really helps explain why he had that extra part on the tape he knew hero would be to curious to resist, which cause the problems in season 3 involving half of the formula getting taken.
