Heroes Spoilers: Kensei’s Blood Is Not Permanent
I never read Heroes Comics but I had to read this one. Issue 66 of the Heroes Graphic Novel entitled “The Ten Brides of Takezo Kensei” reveal us some very interesting things about Kensei.
The issue is about Takezo Kensei, still in his casket/prison, reminiscing about the many lives he’s led and the many loves / wifes he’s had over the last 400 years.
Faces of Takezo Kensei

Our Heroes Are Genetic Descendants Of Kensei?
Kensei mentions the names he’s had over the years - Takezo Kensei, Richard Sanders, Adam Monroe.
- Richard Sanders - Nikki Sanders, perhaps? Is there a chance he is the great-great-grandfather?
- Maybe that means that Kensei was the first evolved human, and that every ” extrodinary person ” from that point on was somehow a genetic descendant of his? Also, name “Adam” is the first name in Bible, many Heroes have names from Bible like Adam, Peter, Noah…. a clue?
Kensei’s Blood Is Not Permanent
He saved his wife - Diane from tuberculosis by injecting her with a vial of his blood. He heals her, she lives on and dies peacefully 20 years later.
- This means that the effects of his blood are not permanent and his blood does not continue to heal a person indefinitely once outside Kensei’s body. That’s great!
His Newest Bride Is
Novel ends with Adam’s monologue in casket holding a ring in the picture to your right ” …. I have my newest bride out there… And I’m certain she’ll find me. ” Theories, theories… according to spoiler bellow, she’s bride candidate number one at the moment.
- New character Sophie is described as “a mysterious woman with powers who works at the organization that is tracking all heroes.”
- Sophie speaks French. “She’s the employee of a powerful, mysterious group, and she’s ‘not afraid to use lethal force to accomplish her mission.’”
Have you say about this spoilers / theories? We look forward to hear from you. Fell free to share this post on your favorite forums or blogs.

The effects of his blood are permanent - for the situation. IE_ He saved his wife from TB but she dies 20 years later. That doesn’t mean she died from the TB she could have died from natural causes and Adam couldn’t save her that way.
Joe is right, it is extended treatments of the blood that make the healing affects permanent. Adam only gave her one dose but if he had kept giving her his blood time aftertime then it would become permanent eventually. Wasn’t it Mrs Petrelli that mentioned the effects of long term exposure to his blood?
Any normal person replaces their entire stock of blood gradually over time so it would be reasonable to assume that if injected with blood from Adam that it would have an immediate effect as we have seen in Heroes, but as the blood was naturally broken down and replaced with new blood, you would lose the effects.
I think it would not be pernament. If it is pernament, Adam, Claire, Maya, Noah, Peter, Nathan and Sylar would all have regenerating abilities.
Dude, Of course its not permanant. That doesnt mean they die after. It heals them. FOr example: If Maya got shoot, which she did, then she gets healed from the blood but if she gets shoot again then she wouldnt regenerate without being injected again. Shes not going to die years later. Hope you understand.
hmmm… of course the healing effect is not permanent…. just like any roll playing games and animation… the effect of one’s ability will eventually disperse…
The effect of Adam’s blood should be permanent only for the purpose it is administered to others. But when the person given a dose of Adam’s blood is infected with another virus, a different one, he/she will have to be given another dose of Adam’s blood for that virus. Maybe even a bigger dose. Just like when one is bitten by a bat or a rabid dog, the person changes dramatically. He/she becomes horribly ill and may ultimately die if not treated early enough. But when treatment is given in time, they go on and live normal healthy lives until they get bitten again. Maybe this time by killer bees, whatever. The total or permanent healing powers of Adam’s blood should be enjoyed only and solely by Adam. It is his own blood flowing in his own veins in his own body afterall.
heroes is great i must say !!!!!!!
will clair end up like adam will she never grow old ?
her blood was usde do save her dad
dose that mean if her dad cuts himself
he will heal?
if someone who could walk through walls gave someone elce his blood will
that person be able to walk through walls too?
if the blood dosent heal forever dose it cure for ever or will a desise come back after it wears off?
that might be true about if a hero gives blood because it can be passed down the family
To answer your questions, the person who receive the blood of a superbeing will NOT gain the ability or abilities of that person due to 0 change in the receiver’s genes or rather DNA. Remember one thing, the reason why they could use their powers and that their powers are way different from each other is due to their unique DNA structure that others do not have.
So conclusion, even if I would to receive blood from either Claire or Adam (hah who knows…lol) I’ll heal 100% but will not receive the same regeneration in the future.
No DUH the effects don’t last forever. It only cures you for whatever injury/disease you have, not give you a superpower!
I really don’t think that he’s from the beginning of time, only from the time when Hiro visited him in like the 1600. Cos otherwise I’m pretty sure he’d have noticed he had a power but he only figured it out when he was in Japan with Hiro.
I agree with u Alexandra. If not Adam would be boasting around that he is a “kami” = god in Jap.
Nice article, I’m wondering how I missed this before…
