Heroes Season 4 Episode Titles, Premiere Date

hey thats soo awesome im so glad to now that its continueing and i look forward to it as it sounds very interesting!!!!!

While I’m looking forward to new episodes come Fall, I wish that it were 7/14 already so I can at least read the next graphic novel.

Glad that Matt’s getting a partner again, shame its not the female detective from the first series, they worked well together, sounds like Claire has an interesting story too at long last

Alexx…. That is justbasic storylines you have moaned about. Them storylines are just side storylines while there will be atleats one major storyline we wont expect.

I think season four has potential but i hope the writers have took the views and ideas of the viewers into account when writing this series.

i hope peter will get his powers back to be the really awsome guy and get’s that cool scar on his face because seriously even with all the help they can get they will not down sylar without someone with the same abilities as him …

… and fight against it as “Nathan’s” memory/soul/nameit struggles to take control over a rather powerful demon.

peter slowly finds a way to get his old power back….
… at which point he learns what happened to Nathan, and who allowed this to happen, then throws them a tantrum. What will happen if he encounters some old dude dying of cancer during his mission to “save the world one person at a time”? Peter storyline could go anywhere for turning him into a Villain corrupted by Samson, to becoming heroic and empathic again, to finally giving us a real Peter vs Sylar encounter, or perhaps they could even fit all of these in the same season.

hiro is pissed at losing his power…
… but realizes he has another one. I’m betting on “flashback spirit walks” like he did before Utusu got his head ripped off. He’ll need a lot of help from Ando and possibly Suresh to get back on his rails.

matt gets a new partner solves cases and tries to bring his family back together…
… a family which could end out to demonstrate has more abilities than he expected. He could also have to deal with Sylar learning he wiped his memory. I bet Sylar won’t give a sh*t that Matt didn’t want to do it in the first place. And Peter… how will he react to Matt when he learns what happened ? This could be quite a mess.

… in a new company which basically abolishes everything he’s good at (bag and tag, tracking & killing specials, etc). A new company in which he has to prove he can be transparent enough to Sandra if he wants to get her back, a company which could end out corrupted again since Nathan/Sylar will be at its head.

The only thing I can say is that I’m taking the “wait and see” approach here. Vol. 3 began in a pretty brutal way (and I wish it had stayed that exciting all season) and writers know they have several wrongs to fix if they want to have enough viewers for other seasons. I’m personally really looking forward to S4. They have the material to make it awesome, and I’m hoping they won’t screw up again.

@Karin, this is EXACTLY why Peter could be very susceptible to a Samson-ish corruption. He’s been mislead by his father, then his brother. And then just as he renewed with Nathan and hinted in a GN that he basically couldn’t live without him, he DIED, and Angela’s twisted mind allowed him to remain dead instead of asking Claire to save him. And the worst part is Peter doesn’t even know yet that the dude running around with Nathan’s face is actually Sylar.

We all know how emo Peter is, and I don’t believe he’ll forgive Angela for this betrayal anytime soon unless he turned into some Jesus-like guy for some reason. Learning that Nathan’s dead should be as much of a shocker than it was for future Sylar to see kiddy Noah die by Knox’ hand.

Peter going ape-sh*t wouldn’t require any form of manipulation other than knowing what’s going on.

A lot of people are jumping the guns saying he simply “forgot” because Sylar didn’t know. I, however, am willing to bet that kiddy Nathan witnessed something horrible when he was 11, and Arthur/Charles/Maury wiped it clean (the Haïtian was probably a baby at that time). Then, using Clairsentience, he managed to remember stuff even the real Nathan didn’t know!

This is simply, absolutely BRILLIANT if you ask me. THIS is the kind of stuff they could have in store for us to justify Angela’s decision/vision. This would also further enforce the idea that Sylar won’t simply heal his memory overnight like Peter and Hiro any time soon. Nylan/Sythan/Nameit, should stick for a while, and I really can’t wait to see it.

yeah i agree, i think its heading towards a similar future, not the exact future in 5yg but along the same lines. when sylar does realise who he is, hes still going to harbour the same ambitions of being president and carrying the power that brings. being nathan petrelli only helps his cause, he wouldnt want anyone to know who he really is beause they would strive to stop him in his tracks again

I cant wait for season 4, I love the sound of all the storylines and Im sure even if it gets bad reviews I’ll still be on the edge of my seat as always. I just hope we still get alot of Zachary Quinto because I feel Sylar was the star of last season.

why has nobody mentioned the stupidity of the end of season 3? why did they not cure naphen like they did mr bennet with claires blood and kill syler. its silly. they only messed up hero cos he was too powerful. ans where is future hero now. never been explained why the future was diff. and more there so many holes they have messed up its never gonna be as good as season 1 any more

I believe writers will subtly let us know that it was a necessary evil; that the real Nathan would’ve failed where the Sylar “Nathan” will succeed.

Sylar is basically invulnerable to assassination plots, he can know everything from people’s past and can tell if they are lying, while still retaining Nathan’s charisma, experience and exposure. Good or evil, he is basically the perfect politician.

“Nathan” could regenerate from an assassination attempt or learn some world-breaking information that would’ve been impossible for the real Nathan to know, then act accordingly. This is where Angela (and/or viewers) would realize that it was certainly the only way, and Sylar would discover who he truly is.

Claire’s blood can’t bring people back from the dead. Mohinder even told Noah that he had nearly died. People have survived gunshots to the head before

I like the wavelength you’re thinking on! I reckon as well, that ‘Sythan’ will be integral to “saving them all”, he’s been told this so many times (well, at least by Micah, and by Angela?) that it has to be significant. As ‘Nathan’, Sylar is in the perfect position to make a profound difference… but will it be a good one?

I personally hope that the writers DON’T make it obvious when Sylar regains his memory/ identity, and that he goes along with things and poses as Nathan in a way that keeps us REALLY guessing (does he or doesn’t he know yet?)! Then we’ll all be rewatching the season to find out EXACTLY WHEN did Sylar resurface… mystery, suspense, and good writing: exercise for the imagination lol!

I must say, I like the idea you mentioned earlier, about Hiro’s power evolving into some sorta spirit-walk-time-travel ability… that’s a bloody good one! At least then he can still ‘time-travel’, just not physically… i.e. no danger of repercussions/ paradoxes/ butterfly effects. Also his ability can be kept in check and controlled (writing-wise). I still think he should keep the time-freezing aspect though.

I know that there will be x-amount of people who will think the ’spirit-timewalk’ thing is wack and diss it (especially if Hiro actually evolves like this for real), but who cares? Can’t please everyone all the time, eh?

@sk74 that makes a lot of sense. Nathan didn’t know he had a synthetic ability; so either Arthur injected him when he was a baby (which he couldn’t remember) or they injected him later on and erased his memory.

Perhaps there was an eclipse or something when Nathan was 11 and Arthur then realized that his kid didn’t have an ability.

a few comments back someone said that noah wasnt propperly dead when he was shot in the head, i want to try and say this once and for all…

People with rcr (rapid cellullar regeneration) can use their blood to heal, or bring people back to life.

think of the possibilities of it, if micah new of it he maay want to use it on his mum who is still in that room right??? nearly every character ever killed could be brought back!

and that, ladies and getns, in why the writers didnt use it on nathan….because as many of u have said, fans were too pissed off in season 2 at it, i wasnt, but others were.

so either they explain it in season 4, but i doubt it, cuz angela wanted her son back so much that she turned sylar into him….unless..there was another reason for her doing it…

either way, its a massive plot hole until they explain it, which sadly i dont think they will do.

Yeah I’m pleased to hear that it’s not that long till heroes starts again. There are a lot of questions from these spoilers that I want answered, like what’s the mysterious suicide about, and when will we see the return of Sylar again? This may be interesting because his aim is going to remain the same to find Claire and finish his icky proposal to her. I have a feeling that after this it will skip to the future and then to the past for us to see a chapter of nathans life as a kid, the part that he forgot. But they have to remember to include other characters and not kill off the originals. Yeah, I’m pretty satisfied with all of that. Should be a good season with some really thrilling moments. comment if you have any problems with what I’ve said.

@Gotay..good to see you back in here. Seems like it’s been a few days at least. Anyway…I feel like Samson is going to be influencing (sp?) Peter in a big way this season. They always make Peter so vulnerable & neive anyways, so it wont be much of a jump. I do agree with you, Samson has SO many abilities it would make sense that he would have some type of ability like Dania Ramerez did on XMen 3 where she can “sense” others’ with special abilities and how far away they are, and what there ability is. So I can see that happeneing, where Samson is around Nylar and can tell that he isnt what he seems. But he knows that Sylar has the healing ability so this would be his chance to take the healing ability from him, and then BAM..we have a NEW VILLIAN…Samson. And we thought Sylar was bad! I have a feeling that Samson will be worse. He will be the sneaky kind that seems like he has some sense of morals & sympathy, but naw…he’s crazy and ready for some…”self improvement”…in the sense that he will be killing to up the # of abilities he has.
Yeah we havent spoken much about this new carnival group that is going to be in S4. That opens up a whole new can of worms. Hopefully lots of NEW abilities!

#2.West…what the hell happened to him? They(Bennets) supposedly are in the same house/town as they were in S2, so why wouldnt we know what happened to him??
#3.MONICA & MIKAH’s GRANDMA/now come on she’s an icon…they owed her MUCH more respect than to let her drop off the face of the Heroes universe.
#4.Claude…sorry he’s lower on the list, since we havent “SEEN” him since S1. ha ha.

Monica is MIA. Micah thought she was on the plane, then at Building 26, but he never found her while freeing his family.

It’s a shame that Nikki died to save Monica’s butt, then she vanished into oblivion.

The Carnival does seriously looks like someone is hiring/forcing specials into doing crazy stuff at some kind of roaming circus. I wish they kept this for next season because I wanted to see more of Danko.

Can’t wait till Heroes Season 4 comes out!!!!! Its gonna be amazing!!!! By the way, they SHOULD bring Monica back. Nobody knows what happened to her.

hopefully claire will die this season..fingers crossed…I find her character is useless now, and just a filler for time on the show which i find is part to blame for heroes drop in ratings… by not exploring other charater developments and mainly revolving the story around claire’s journey to accepting her powers/then whinning like every episode and the petrellis… its called HEROES.. but should be renamed The Petrellis…..season 4 is the make or break season… Season 1: Amazing.. Season 2: Good… Season 3: Awful… Season 4: TBD

WAIT now, you thought S2 was GOOD but thought S3 was awful? Geesh. You may want to find another show to watch. Maybe you would like Lost better? They also have sites you could go to. We love Heroes and most of us feel like the seasons have left a little to be desired, and in no way compete with S1 however I think we would all agree that we still LOVE this show, I have never thought any of the seasons were AWFUL. But god bless America & freedom of speech.

Heroes is awesome, and I dont believe there was a season that was awful. I’m still clinging onto my armrest, waiting patiently for season 4.

I do watch Lost.. and personally I find it better than Heroes….n let me rephrase my order… season 2 was awful(yes I said it). due to the writer strike so everything was rushed, unaswered questions and plots just cut out.. like peter’s girlfriend stuck in alternate timeline forever.. season 3 had some gd episodes but overall they wasted too much time on claire’s character(seems they’re appealing to the fanboys, cause Hayden is hot) but her scenes are pointless….everyones got their own views of how heroes is..n thats fine..just saying i don’t expect to see it last past season 4..writers need to step it up a notch n bring back season 1’s spark…

On another point… Im sure many ppl have know that producing the show is costing millions i would think… n u can see how in season 3 finale(cutbacks).. the big fight was just claire looking through a flashing room.. prob gave her a seizure..jk…but she healed right away… Im sure ppl have complained why hasn’t peter or sylar used any of their multiple powers.. but it comes down to how much is it gonna cost to do this special effect which is for any show.. would like to see another time jump.. though its lookin like nathan/sylar will become president with sylar eventually taking over.. will we see peter get that scar finally.. n hopefully we get to see more powers evolving.. like parkman being able to draw the future now….on another note.. I can see Danko leading a charge against all heroes… all out war… humans vs. Heroes

Sampson Gray is Sylar’s father. The dude has intuitive aptitude just like his son, but didn’t get lucky enough to find a cheerleader yet… and he’s dying of cancer.

RE: Time travelling. I’m with you on all points mentioned there! I’m a big fan of time travel too, and it’s one of the reasons that I love the show. While I want Hiro to get his full power back as much as anyone, I’m just happy to see where “Destiny” takes him. Yes the show is lacking something without the Time aspect, but even with it [the writers] couldn’t please everyone… and it can be a potential minefield when it comes to continuity!

(BTW, I’m actually one of those people that tends to try to rationalise and make sense out of the time travelling and consequences lol! But it’s more about trying to prove that the whole idea is watertight and makes sense, rather than trying to find a plothole… Probably why I’m rating Lost so highly ATM in that department. If I DO find what seems like a plothole, as always I welcome any theories that can tie everything together and make sense out of the situation. Like Hannibal from the A-Team, “I love it when a plan comes together” lol!)

Basically, I think they should bring it back, but yes they will have to control it. I think it was you that mentioned an idea about Hiro being able to ’spirit walk’ in time? I think that’s a good idea… and maybe to chill out the fans that will scream that it’s a lame version of his power (lol), here’s an expansion on that: Let him SpiritWalk into the past (all via thoughts/ memory/ conciousness, so he doesn’t physically travel back – thus reducing butterfly effects/ paradoxes), but let him again be able to physically travel into the future like before (that way he can bring back things from the future, see the way the timeline is headed, etc… Things that pertain to the original magic of Heroes).

question… where in the show do they say that DL’s mom/Micah & Monica’s grandma has any abilities? im confused. apparently its spoken about in the graphic novels which i havent read…

What I think that heroes should do is come up with stronger better powers. If you compare heroes to x-men u have mistique who can change faster and doesn’t have to touch their DNA u hav jean who can blow up a whole island u hav juggernaught who is much stronger than nikki xavier is stronger than matt. Also most of the powers suck what use is finding people or having a good memory ?? And if the powers come from the blood how do two people have the same power nathan and west I understand the father havin the same one but do u get what I meen

and the morphing without touching DNA was basically what candice did with her illusions. the DNA touching thing kinda reminds me of the Animorphs (i know, very old and childish but whatever, im young!) where they had to acquire DNA to morph into that individual or animal.

And well said in your comment above… took the words right outta my mouth! I’m an oldskool X-men fan (before they were famous lol!), but Heroes brought all of that to the real world in the right way. So basically the X-men got whupped by a bunch o’ Heroes in my book LOL!

@SK74, no probs either, and trust me, im no fan of the incorporation of reality with the real world (i kinda hate the new batmans, they lost the comicky feel) but heroes premise is that it IS in the real world and not fantasyland and i totally think they do an amazing job bringing the two together.

also just wanted to point out that the girl in the pic at the top of this page is gonna be claires college room mate with whom she has the lesbian relationship

also, i didnt get this: is Tracy dead or alive? she froze herself and then got shattered, but then they showed her dismembered eye blinking. will she put herself back together or is she doomed to live her life as separate ice chunks? and will we get to see her reunited with the 3rd sister, or will we only see Barbara if Tracy dies, like we saw Tracy when Niki died?

and ps: totally glad that Niki died. altho she was super cool, her getting a new alter ego in every other episode at the end of season 2 was really annoying me.

yeah thats a valid point but it had nothing to do with fugatives. it would have gone well in the volume ‘generations’ but not fugatives.

i feel they misssed out on their potential in fugatives, they should have shown other heroes like claude

What’s it is my fellow Heroe fans? I’ve heard one comment I tend to disagree with…Heroes is NOT better than X-MEN or any marvel comic as this show and ALL it’s abilities are similarly taken from this and they even used Stan Lee’s input on creation…if you broke X-MEN down into a mini-series and could fully go through their backgrounds and watch the evolution of their abilities as well, it would kill this show…X-MEN is still running to this day and you could create seasons of Wolverine’s life alone as he’s Adam Monroe times 10 with adamantium skeleton (not anymore since Magneto ripped it from his body), claws and awesome fighting skills…I’ll say this, I think they’ve done the best job in bringing into a normal world, but that’s the same way MOST of the comics portray it with your “galactic battle/trip” every now and then like the Shi’Ar empire and Le Landra…
As far as the show, Coyote Sands is important because there will be several episodes flashing back and there are many questions to be answered as well as good character background on the creators of the company. How did Charles get sick? How did Arthur get his persuasion ability he used on Angela constantly? Seeing the testing on the kids like Elle and injecting of abilities to people like Nikki/Tracy would be interesting..also, if you’ve watched than you know they will NO DOUBT show what happened in the that room and how Peter touched Sylar…at the end of SEason 1, we didn’t see Peter and Nathan flying up, Nathan’s face being burned and Peter reviving! Season two opened and he was chained up in a metal container and it wasn’t until several episodes later that they showed him exploding, catching Nathan and bringing him to the hospital…I’ve come to the conclusion that the writers do a pretty good job and at times because we want so much more, we tend to criticize unjustly. To have this run longer, they must stretch it and not give us everything or it will be over…that’s what happened to the X-MEN movie franchise where Ratner literally made X-MEN 3 total crap making Jean the villian off the bat, killing Cyclops (are you f*cking kdding me??), putting Angel in the movie with no character depth and for what unless Apocalypse was in it and he would become Arch Angel, and taking the best character of part 2 in Nightcrawler out without reason…as we can see, there can be a big difference depending on the writers and my sister watched Season 1 & 2 this week at my house for the 1st time, and all she kept saying watching Season 2 was, what happened to this season, it isn’t nearly as good as 1 and way short…we should see many things and remember, even when we get to the 5YG future, we still haven’t seen an ending to how it ends other than Pete/Sylar about to go at it…

@Kari, I agree that there both great shows, but as someone who was a comic “geek” in a loose sense of the word, they’ve messed up many of the movies and Marvel is genius at storylines so they should’ve followed it properly. Many people liked the X-MEN 3 movie because it was more non-stop action, but it lacked a solid storyline and to kill off Cyclops, leader of the team in that fashion was TERRIBLE and there’s no coming back from that atrocious error Ratner made in directing…I thought the newest Wolverine movie was good, but should’ve been darker during the Weapon X experiment, but it wasn’t bad…That Punisher War Zone should’ve NEVER been produced and was horrible..the previous one with Thomas Jane was very good and very realistic as was the Hulk with Edward Norton…they must realize when producing these movies that many know the story and history from comics and their storyline is what everyone grew to love so they must stay as close as possible to the comic. Either way, I always look forward to any Marvel movie and Wolverine is just too much of a fan favorite to not be on screen…he’s the longest tenured mutant and similar to Adam that no one even knows his age at this point..Heroes is great, no if, ands or buts about it! I started watching primarily knowing it would be something like X-MEN in everyday life so that’s the part that gives it the human edge making it more believalbe.

oh, and i actually do think putting coyote sands in fugitives was very fitting, because even 50 years ago they were separated from society and after the whole alice-killing-everyone incident the founders of the company really WERE fugitives… so it technically coulda been part of generations also, but i think it showed us that no matter what they do, they will never be accepted in society… they were and always will be segregated and hunted, as the peter that came back from the future to shoot nathan proved also

@Heroes Rocks…You must be a new Heroes fan, or else you havent watched S1 or S2 lately! Well, Nana (Mikah/Monica’s grandma) Was an original, and Victoria (as far as we know both of them had an ability-they just didnt tell us what it was) ALL of them had an ability. The “group” was founded by like minded individuals and all of them were “SPECIAL” Kaito Nakamura DID have an ability also. His power was to be able to foresee the outcome of any situation. This is why he was such a powerful business man. But there is NO doubt in MY mind-at least- that ALL of the original founders had an ability.!!!
I agree with you that it’s possible that Arthur stole the persuasion power from Charles. GOOD CALL!
I think however, that Charles ability went SO much further than just persuasion. I still think that he had some type of dream walking ability. I dont know the best way to call that ability, but remember when Peter passed out in the street in S1 and he ended up in the past, when he had 1st started working for Charles, and he watched his mom & Charles have a conversation on the roof of the Devaux building? Well whatever that was, I think it was Charles power-since Charles was able to see Peter.

@karin, wasnt charles dead when that happened? charles died in the beginning of S1, and peter’s dream didnt happen till closer to the end when he was about to explode…

Yes Charles was dead when that happened, so that makes me wonder even more what EXACTLY was CHarles power???? THat is another reason why I liked the flashback of Coyote Sands, it shows us more about the original’s when they were 1st learning about there powers.

Angela didn’t “say that” to Nathan. I was thinking out loud what she could’ve whispered him on that scene after Nathan saved Peter when he got shot on a rooftop by danko. @SK74..actually the time you are thinking of, IMO…I think that was Angela’s power that Peter was using. We all know that more than likely, the 1st ability that Peter absorbed was his mothers clairvoincy (sp?) or her dreams of the future. So personally I think that is what Peter was using. Just like when he had the dream about Nathan, right when Nathan & Heidi was having that wreck.

I don’t agree that it was Angela’s power… Peter was dreaming about talking to Charles and showing him that he could fly… then the NEXT DAY Simone said that Charles had passed away the PREVIOUS NIGHT (I think) – i.e. when Peter was having the dream – and she said that Charles said he had been “flying with Peter” before he died.

Since Angela’s dreams are of the future, and Charles died before Peter could meet him again and show him that he could fly, I would have to put this event down to either a dreamwalking or telepathic ability – either of which would have had to come from Charles (since Peter hadn’t yet encountered Matt Parkman).

Remember when she was talking to Heidi outside Nathan’s room (whne he was in the hospital burnt up) she kept rubbing Heidi’s arms, and picking at her shirt, and telling her basically to get the F away and stay away…and Heidi did it. that is strange to me since Nathan stayed by her while she was paralized…even tho he cheated…men suck that way!

The three posts I made at around 4:30pm are mainly what I was trying to say before…
I guess I actually see Heroes as a more mature take on super-powered people, which is why I don’t feel that there has to be a battle every week (especially between Peter and Sylar). I want to see action and powers, of course, but when you can relate to something (whether a film, song lyrics, documentary, etc) it means more… Heroes just overtook X-men in the realism department for me.

At last – got there in the end!

@SK, good points and I agree that HEROES does relate to the common person much more, no argument there…also, I feel Kring and Co. know that fans are all sitting with the question still of “how the hell did Peter just get that one ability?” I’m sure it was something like he got zapped which I believe was him 1st, grabbed Sylar’s leg when Sylar most likely walked over to finish him off and Nathan flew at Sylar full speed taking him out the window, which is when the door opened and Claire came in…it will be interesting to see the convo and how he took it..
@F.D. great point and you hit the nail on the head to exactly why many fell out of love because my sister who is a diehard fan now watched S2 and kept complaining about Hiro’s story being stupid, even though it did translate later to Adam Munroe’s character. I agree about Peter, but even Peter Parker in Spider-Man 2 lost his abilities when he forgot what made him special so when I look at it now, it’s not too big a deal…I didn’t like how they used Arthur to fully de-power him and he became the man taking all of Pete’s abilities…also, the way Arthur used them would lead you to believe he’s almost like Sylar in that he used these abilities rather easily upon acquiring them and didn’t take time to learn. He was time jumping with ease, easier than Hiro did…they said Peter woud meet someone that shows him how to re-connect which I’m crossing my fingers is his empathy…either way, I’m drooling in anticipation!

As for Hiro, my guess is that he will go emo about not being able to fulfill his destiny because using his power could kill him. Maybe he’ll try to save the world using Adam’s sword again ? I’m also guessing that Ando will bite the dust at some point (e.g. giving his life to save Hiro), which could finally be the nail in the coffin of Hiro’s stupidity/childishness. Hiro would turn into badass, non-glass wearing ninja with limited time-related abilities.

@ all of you… i dont get how baby matt’s power is different from micahs, and so i dont believe that he is the reason for hiro getting his partial power back. i think that arthur only took part of hiro’s abilities, the ability to teleport thru time, which is why hiro can still stop time if he concentrates hard enough, but cant move through time anymore.
however, i do think both hiro and peter will get their natural abilities back, simply because of the futures theyve shown. hiro has gone back in time several times to see himself and he also changed history with kensei/adam monroe… if he lost his ability after 3 yrs, then he wouldnt have been able to go back in time in 5 yrs to warn us about the cheerleader and all the other excursions he’s made from future to past. i get the whole “not set in stone but set in fabric” but like you said, some things stay the same… so i think the powers will return.

By your own admission, Daphne left Pinehurst in Fugitives… so even before she was killed, the future was gonna be different! In the future she was STILL working for Pinehurst, so leaving that company in Fugitives means that THAT future wasn’t going to be exactly the same, agreed?

BTW, that future changed IMO when Hiro destroyed the Formula. WHY? Coz when Ando ‘kills’ Hiro (we can’t even be sure that he kills him, maybe Hiro was just shocked unconcious?) they are fighting over ONE HALF of the formula – but Hiro ripped that to shreds in the present, so now there is nothing left to fight over. True, the Formula can be rediscovered, but then it would have to be ripped in half again to bring things back in line… too many different things have to fall into place for this ELEMENT of THAT future (Ando killing Hiro) to occur.

I do think that all the future timelines have confused you bro! (You are a bro, no? Sorry if I’m wrong! ) S’ok, it can get VERY confusing to try to follow… but basically, yes it IS possible that we will get different ELEMENTS of different futures happening… but the future as it is NOW unfolding (after all the changes and alterations from saving the world) is NOT going to be exactly as we saw it in FYG. And a lot of people seem to be easily confused into thinking that coz we’ve seen the futures (3 times, I believe) that they will definitely come to pass as we saw them. NO!!! The future(s) have been shown (to us via certain characters) so that we can witness what WOULD happen IF the timeline ISN’T changed! There is no point in showing us a Dark Future that will occur if the present isn’t changed… and then giving us the EXACT SAME future when the disaster IS averted! Obviously some things will turn out differently, but some things are destined to happen (your ‘Fabric Theory’ in a nutshell). E.g. Peter’s scar is obviously destined to happen… but the way he gets it might be different in each potential future (i.e. purely for the purpose of example, let’s say that in the FYG future he got his scar from being cut by Angela (!), but in the future where Claire was trying to kill him he might have got cut in a battle with Hiro. In the future as it unfolds NOW, he might end up being cut by Sythan. See what I’m getting at? Peter is DESTINED to get that scar, but there are sooooo many different scenarios as to HOW it happens, it would be naive to think that there is only ONE way it could occur in ANY of the potential futures.

Claire is also destined to have dark hair in any future lol! But in FYG she was still just weak, whiny Claire… trying to stay under the radar. In the Villains future, she was not the prey, she was the predator. So all that we can say for CERTAIN is that in the future as it is NOW unfolding, Claire is likely to dye her hair brown! She might turn bad, or she might become a waitress and try to lay low… or she might become something COMPLETELY different.

And about Ando… like I said, the future was changed after Hiro shredded the Formula – by which time Ando had already got red lightning. So him getting the power was destined to pass… but ONLY BECAUSE HE DIDN’T DIE COZ THE PETER-BOMB DIDN’T GO OFF IN S1! So, another example of the future being changed from one that we’ve witnessed. It’s entirely possible that Ando might kill Hiro after all, or – coz they have knowledge of what is SUPPOSED to happen in the future, like a warning – they can try to ensure that it never happens. Third option… Ando gets killed anyway, so once again we have an Ando-less future (SIMILAR to FYG, but his involvement in events thus far means that it isn’t exactly the same)… this could very well lead to Hiro becoming the badass ninja (as I think F.D. has been saying). Even so, THIS badass ninja Hiro will be slightly different to the one we have seen, as Ando would be killed under different circumstances. The FYG FutureHiro didn’t know an Ando that had red lightning.

One thing to remember with these various futures: one person can make a vast difference. Take one person out of the equation, and all the lives that that one person would have affected are gonna be different, in subtle or vast ways. Take Nathan for example… everything’s cool right now, coz nobody except Ang, HRG and Matt know what happened to him (and even Matt is having a cow coz of what he had to do). How many people would be changed by the truth? Peter, Claire, Heidi (his wife) and his kids… it would shock the country (as pointed out, if the public knew that a U.S. Senator had been murdered by a Special, it’s all over! Mass hysteria, distrust… need I go on?), and possibly even Tracy might feel a pang of remorse… Ang, HRG and Matt are already affected by the events. Had Nathan been alive and none of this happened, NONE of those people would/ will be affected in such an profound way, and the future would unfold differently to how it is about to. So Daphne’s dead, so is Knox… already the Exposed Future has changed (lacking two characters).

All in all, I wouldn’t rely too much on what we have seen in the various futures, but they do have clues as to what MIGHT happen… but logic has to be applied (e.g. if Daphne was the cause of an event in the future – whether major or minor – then it’s safe to say that SHE cannot cause that event – or any repercussions – to occur anymore, coz she’s dead. But depending on what we’re talking about, it may be possible for a DIFFERENT character to cause the same event, which MAY or MAY NOT have the same repercussions).

Interesting point you made here. Are you familiar with paradox? Basically, if you could go back in time and change a particular event, then you erase the reason for having to go back in time in the first place… meaning that in the altered future, there wouldn’t be any reason to go back in time in the first place! Confusing, huh?!?
In short, it is impossible… it’s a paradox of time travel.

In Hiro’s case, coming back to warn Peter to “STC, STW” meant that he would have negated the very reason that he came back (stopping the bomb would mean that Ando wouldn’t have been killed, Hiro wouldn’t have become darker and badass, and he wouldn’t have dedicated his life to finding a way to come back and undo everything). The only way that this can all work and make sense IMO is if we think of alternate timelines.

By changing some pivotal events in this timeline, the future that FutureHiro came from can still exist (it HAS to, otherwise that means that FutureHiro never existed: PARADOX!), but things like saving Claire from Sylar and averting the Bomb has caused enough of a difference for the main reality to take a different path, as it were. So the FYG future that FutureHiro came from still exists IMO, but it’s unlikely that we’ll see it again (unless we get a character that can access alternate realities or something – crazy idea for a spin-off show?!?). This leaves Our Reality’s Hiro free to go through his trials and tribulations, losing/ gaining/ changing powers etc. without creating plotholes and paradoxes.

This is all just my theory on the whole timetravel/ future reality issue… y’all will probably find weak points in it, or things you won’t understand fully (hey, it still baffles the hell outta me lol!) so as always, feel free to challenge (or agree, if you’re on my crazy wavelength and you can see the logic of ‘how it all works’!)

for any who dont remember, kaitlin was from season 2, she displayed no power, but was trapped in a future that was prevented. the shanti virus future. another example is future peter from the pinehurst future, he left that future and once he had done his stuff in the present angela told him to go back, my question, is go back to what.

do these alterate timelines still exist? is kaitlin living in a shanti virus world? is the pinehurst future still rolling lacking its peter who claire killed? or is the present time which we watch the only one still going.

think about it, future hiro from the bomb future, cam back, warned peter (save the hot girl, save the world, jks), and then went back to his own time. did he fade away? no, because present time hiro travelled there in 5 yrs gone and met his future self, who by the way was killed before they escaped. doesnt present hirp, travelling there prove that that time line is still rolling?

the only problem is, that if it is, surely hiro and peter travelling back in time to change things is pointless, as their time and world is already doomed….

You got it! If this theory holds water, then there could be alternate versions of us out there that are rich and successful, and some that are not so…

BTW, in a relevant flash of inspiration, has anyone seen the movie “The One” starring Jet Li? Forgot which year it was released… Basically, one of Jet’s alternate selves goes through all the alternate realities (I believe there are 121 of them) killing his alternate reality counterparts, in a quest to become ‘The One’… the ONLY version of himself in ANY reality. Each time one dies, the other selves in all the realities get stronger as their ‘power’ is redistributed. Brilliant concept, good film (from what I can remember of it)… check it out if you can, ppl!

As I understood it, Present Hiro was only able to travel to FutureHiro’s future AT THAT TIME because the disaster (Bomb) hadn’t yet been averted, so at the time when he travelled there the Bomb had still gone off (even FutureHiro wondered why Present Hiro was there… FH told PH that he hadn’t stopped the bomb, and he must kill Sylar – who was BELIEVED to be the bomb). As we know, Hiro had a morally difficult time accepting that he was supposed to take a life, which is why I believe that the timeline hadn’t yet changed significantly… also, it’s obvious that when PH went to FH’s future, it was a future where Nathan hadn’t come to his senses and flown Peter away to explode, so SOMETHING hadn’t happened yet to change his mind (that SOMETHING would centre around Claire, no doubt). But if you notice, since Nathan flew Peter away and the explosion was averted, we haven’t seen badass ninja FutureHiro again… and every future that has since been visited is different from FYG. IMO the same FYG future still exists, but there is no character ATM that can travel to alternate worlds so we are unlikely to see it (or ANY averted future – including the one Kaitlin is in) again… unless they introduce a character with the power to travel there.

But Fo’real…it is soooooo confusing. I get the base of it tho..but I still must say that IMO, the future is NOT written in stone, or in script for that matter! But seriously, I believe that in the Heroes universe, and in our universe…our future selves are CONSTANTLY changing with every little choice we make. Example: I wake up tomorrow and decide to take the #4 bus instead of my usual #3 bus. I get home from work to learn that the #3 bus exploded and everyone inside is dead. Or something as small as I decide to not eat a big mac for dinner, and little do I know… I end up NOT having a heart attack due to the cholesterol. I know that these are small silly examples but ya feel what I am saying?

@gotay… Very good point there, I’d kinda forgotten about that (FutureHiro not directly intervening with the present day events, that is). Yes, Hiro in the past (Kensei’s era) and FuturePeter in the present would have MUCH more drastic consequences for the present and the future, respectively. I always DID think that Hiro changing the past (because he saved the fake Kensei, that town got burnt to the ground when according to history it didn’t originally) would have caused some significant (and pretty mean) Butterflies… I mean, he might have managed to patch things up in the end (the Legend of Kensei tale was still told the same way by Yaeko(sp?)) but the guy STILL rewrote part of history dammit!

I did have a question for you to find out your opinion, but as I started typing I realised that I was working out the answer anyway… and I think I may have found a paradox… see if you can shed any light on this!

S2 Hiro in the past leaving the scrolls in the sword’s hilt (for Ando to find in the present day) means to me that the sword must have had the scrolls inside ALL the time – even BEFORE Hiro stole the sword from Linderman in S1. (If not, then the scrolls would have appeared to Ando one by one in the present AS Hiro wrote them and stashed them in the past…that’s lame… but Ando found ALL the scrolls together – some of which were faded – while we saw Hiro still writing them in the past.) OK… so if the scrolls were there before the sword was stolen, that means Hiro was always going to travel to the past, meet Kensei, fall in love with Yaeko, write the scrolls, etc etc etc. In other words, Hiro was DESTINED to travel to the past and do EVERYTHING that he did… implying that he didn’t change a damn thing… what happened with Kensei was ALWAYS going to happen.

Here’s the paradox. That town burnt down because of Hiro’s presence/ interaction in the past… but apparently, according to the history that Hiro grew up learning, the town WASN’T burned down. If Hiro was supposed to go back in time to ‘complete the loop’, then how could he change a part of history that he was part of?

Dunno if I’ve made my question clear or not, but I think you know what I’m tryin’ ta say. The only thing I can think of is that the town always did get burnt, but the historical accounts were falsified for some reason… so Hiro grew up with the BELIEF that the town was saved, when that was a lie. Any thoughts?

And Peter getting Sylar’s IA def changed the game and resulted in his powers getting robbed… without the IA, FuturePeter never found out the truth about Pinehurst, so he never went there and ended up confronting Arthur.

Even in FYG, it was revealed that it was ALWAYS Peter that blew up, not Sylar… Nathan only lay the blame on Sylar to protect his lil’ bro (which was the LEAST he could do in return for allowing the kind, caring Peter to destroy so many lives when he could have done something about it). Even had the cheerleader NOT been saved, I believe that the explosion would have been caused by Peter, not Sylar. Again, Nathan would have protected him.

Unfortunately – or fortunately, for Sylar – that’s what you get with IA… an innate understanding of how things work. Luckily, he doesn’t seem to have a complete understanding of his own ego, coz that’s where he seems to get tripped up… he gets too cocky, thinking that he has got the upper hand (that’s why I actually liked it when he killed Nathan so swiftly – no SuperVillain speech, giving anyone time to come to the rescue).

I hear you about ‘Sylar blaming Sylar’! I would agree (as far as what we saw), but I’m thinking more along the lines of: Nathan (the REAL one) publicly blaming Sylar for the explosion after it occurred to protect Peter (Sylar is believed to be dead at this point), then at some point Nathan is killed and impersonated by Sylar… so by the time we see the future in FYG, Sylar (posing as the now-President Nathan) can only continue the lie that the Real Nathan started, while keeping himself hidden.

I seem to remember in that episode – I’m not sure if it was after Sylar revealed his true ID to Peter before they started knocking ten shades of sh*t out of each other – but I’m sure Sylar said to Peter something like “…only we both know that it was really you that blew up, Peter, not me…” I’m probably COMPLETELY wrong and those words were never said – it’s been a while since I’ve rewatched Season 1 – but I seem to recall that Sylar wasn’t too happy about being made the scapegoat. Pls correct me if my memory is playing up!

@SK, good points, but the one thing also is remember that Heroes account of Kensei growing up is a “tale” passed from generations. As we know just like you mentioned wit the village, an ordinary man is cast as a Giant of epic proportions in certain chapters throughout history like Achilles for example. Most likely the greatest Greek warrior ever, but the son of the Gods talk is a bit extreme…it’s not the fact of whether or not Kensei would’ve still been alive at that time, it’s more of Hiro’s actions changing Kensei’s perception of the world. Instead, the Hero he grew up loving and idolizing was living up to the legend, but his one kiss changed the Hero he was supposed to be…instead, Hiro went again and performed what should’ve been the end of Kensei’s tale by destroying the guns, so yes, the basis of it lived through the Yaeko’s telling, but the real Kensei in the end changed….leading to his thinking of tearing it down and just starting over with humanity….
As far as your recollection of the 5YG future scene/dialogue between Sylar and Peter in the hallway, you are correct that Sylar said that and revealed himself 1st when Peter was surprised that Nathan pulled him through the walls with DL’s ability…another power Sylar doesn’t have since DL is dead so once again future has changed…

I am actually inclined to believe that Hiro was always part of the Kensei legends, but he just had to travel to that time period to ‘complete the loop’… I’ll tell you why.

Certain parts of the legend (e.g. The Battle of the Twelve Swords (?)) IMO could only have really happened if someone with Hiro’s abilities was present… remember when he stopped time and took their swords away? Like magic (to the soldiers)! Kensei/ Adam, with his Regeneration alone, could not have achieved this.

Since Kensei was a REAL person (ok the name was fake, but the man existed), and we know that coz of his ability ANY factual account of what happened would seem like the stuff of magic, myth and legend (a man that can’t die in battle), I think that we can safely assume that – for the purposes of Heroes, of course – the events ACTUALLY happened, and weren’t just some fantastic stories of a normal man’s exploits: to refer to your Achilles example, Kensei wasn’t made a ‘giant’ (read “special”) through the telling of myths, he WAS a ‘giant’ and the accounts were quite true. Therefore, parts of the myth such as the Twelve Swords were also true, IMO, and could only have been achieved by Hiro (I didn’t see anyone else around that could freeze time).

Plus, if Hiro never went back, Kensei would have still been a drunk and a cheat, paying people to pose as him while he took out the enemy from his hiding place. Kensei himself told Hiro that he has “made him a better man”. In fact, if Hiro had left things well enough alone at that point, Kensei might actually have remained a hero, but we wasn’t much of one UNTIL Hiro came along.

Also, ‘The Dragon’ in the story is metaphorical (obviously). It relates to the dilemma that Hiro was facing… which is why Kensei ‘cutting out his heart’ equates to Hiro having to leave Yaeko. The story of Kensei and the Dragon only really makes full sense if you have both ‘Adam’ and Hiro as aspects of Kensei… IMO it doesn’t work with just ‘Adam’… and that’s why I think that Hiro was always a part of the legend (and more or less the REASON that it came about: ‘Adam’ just wasn’t a born hero, and without Hiro to put him on the, uh, Hero’s path, he wouldn’t have had the motivation to think about anyone else except himself… remember, when he discovered he could heal, he immediately thought of a way to use it to make lots of money, not to help others. Hiro had to teleport him into danger and LEAVE him there so that he was FORCED to fight his way thru and get the Fire Scroll, or whatever it was. Only then, when Yaeko started to fall for him, did ‘Adam’ see the bigger picture and start to fight for right without being coerced into doing so).

i STILL believe micah and MJ have the same power… i think hiro blamed it on “baby touch and go” but he never lost the time-freezing ability, just the teleporting one (via arthur). i dont think there were any other examples of MJ starting or stopping any1 elses powers. MJ can turn machines on and off… but how do we know hes not TELLING them to do something in his baby talk, and his powers wont advance to where micah is? other characters have had the same powers, like West/Nathan can fly and Mohinder/Niki are super strong and that girl from season one & arthur with the persuasion.
i REALLY dont get why everyone who’s come in contact with Utsu now has dreams of the future… Matt and Hiro’s powers had nothing to do with premonition, and yet now they both have it… wtf? did that yellow paste change their genetic code and give them the premonition power like a formula for a specific power?
meanwhile, is there a reality where i made all the choices that somehow landed me a date with or married to hayden panettiere?

i really wanted to talk about this n now tht someone brought it up i can.

in most or many cases powers are inherited from past ‘generations’. we learned this is the volume generations.

some examples:

mory and matt (father and son) have the exact same power, except matts has evolved even more as sk74 said, n now he can also see the future as he paint it.

arther petrelli could take mulitple power by touching people and their powers went away. His son peter could take multiple powers through absorbing them without the need to touch. peters latest ability of taking one power at a time through touch is what i would assume his grandfather would have had.

you see abilities evolve more over generations. peters power is better than his fathers, his son oneday, if he has a power, will have one even better, e.g. absorbing powers from a larger distance, by just hearing the name of the power and the person who bares it..who knows.

however, sometimes powers arent the same by generations, hence nathan not having a real power, only given an artifical one.

on the otherhand, if you look at micah his power is nothing like his parents though it could be synthetic as linderman was manipulating his parents entire relationship.

another really important source to look at is daphne in the finale of villains saying that ando might get timetravel as matt always wanted to hear what people thought of him and she always wanted to run…

so im guessing that when the adrenlin thing happens and u first use ur power, if uve had it since birth like claire it wont be what you want, but if like daphne you want something soo desperatly and u have the genetic code….

claire is another example of someone who has a power toally unlike her parents, but as her fathers power was synthetic i think it makes sence, anyway we know that she had her power since birth as she survived that fire.

now i get to my point, if powers are inherited in some form or another (meradith and her brother flint have almost identical powers), then why does todler touch and go not have his father and grandfathers ability.

my answer, is that he has. His power is generation number 3, mory was powerful, matt is becomign even stronger. now baby matt who we know as MJ, has an even more powerful version of ‘reading minds’.

he can control anything, the mind, the electronics, he can read minds and put thoughts into other peoples heads because he can make anything he wants go and stop. he doesnt have to touch it for it to happen. in addition this 3rd generation child can turn off peoples powers…probably without even touching them. can he make himself use other peoples powers by making them go on him? i dont know but look at this 3rd generation child, as you will see that he has the potential to be the most powerful hero, or the darkest villain.

while im on it, micah is also 3rd generation, as we know that angela’s father had one, it makes peter 3rd generation too, and claire 4th generation. well unless claire looses her power she will never die…thats quite an amazing power, and we all loved peters origional power, but remember claire’s father had a sythetic ability so maby that stopped her being as good as todler touch and go.

i’ve written a lot AAGAIN, but i had to get it all down, imagion MJ’s child oneday, the powers really could destroy the world. just imagion MJ now, a one year old that could stop sylar, n i laughed in season 1 when they said that molly was the only one that could stop sylar.

IMO..I think/bet that we are going to find out this season that Nathan DID have a natural ability, I bet we will see that he was the “guinea pig” of Arthur & co. I am thinking that this was wiped from his memeory (as we have seen in spoilers we will find out a memory that Nathan forgot when he was young) Was it wiped from his mind by the Haitian or was it too traumatic that his 11 yr old brain just blocked it out. Therefore I would say that Nathan has another ability that we are unaware of. Then after they wiped it out to experiment and see what happens when you give a person born with an ability a synthetic ability…?

@HEROES ROCKS… I’m sorry but I think you are wrong about the MJ/Mikahs powers being the same. It doesnt make sense to me personally, I dont think that they are even similar. One speaks to computers/machines… ONe makes things come to life basically. And from what we seen it doesnt even have to be a machine…he was making toys move and they arent machines. Didnt he make some stuffed animals move? Plus MJ did have to touch people to make there ability work. Remember Hiro’s power didnt work until MJ TOUCHED HIS FACE…

I dunno, FYG FuturePeter said himself (to Niki) that HE really blew up, not Sylar… and FutureHiro in that same ep seemed convinced that it was Sylar i.e. he seemed to NOT know that Peter was really responsible. As it is logically impossible for Hiro to see SYLAR exploding, while at the same time PETER is ‘fessing up to it, and they are two different characters, I have to conclude that Hiro was lied to like everyone else. Even if Sylar stopped Nathan from flying Peter away, Hiro would have still seen – or known, if he teleported away from the explosion – that it was Peter that was the Bomb, but he was sure it was Sylar. Think about it… Peter blew up half the city AND killed Ando in the process, which is why Hiro turned dark and dangerous… Would he really have sought out Peter for help and NOT have anything to say on the matter?

So what we have is:
a) FuturePeter admitting to explosion, therefore Sylar def DIDN’T explode
b) FutureHiro thinking Sylar was responsible, therefore he def DIDN’T see Peter explode because
c) FutureHiro had no grudge/ animosity towards FuturePeter (for being responsible for the death of his friend, amongst everyone else). Even if Sylar HAD stopped Nathan from saving the day, and Hiro witnessed that, I don’t think he would have let Peter off the hook completely and blamed it 100% on Sylar. Plus, I think the conversation with Peter on the train would have gone a little bit differently, if at all, no?

IMO Hiro for some reason wasn’t in the vicinity when the explosion was about to occur (like when Sylar flung him away, he was forced to teleport and ended up in 17th century) and he naturally assumed that the culprit was Sylar, coz he’s the bad guy. And with Nathan lying to protect Peter, and Ando dead, it’s easy for Hiro to be convinced.

@alexx.. yeah that is what i was trying to say…Nathan had an ability that they took from him when he wa syoung. Then they turned around and gave him a synthetic abiltiy as an experiment. Sorry maybe i phrased it wrong above. But yeah i think that is what we will find out about this coming season when Nathan has a flashback of when he was young

I’m confused… :S WHEN has Hiro seen the future since leaving Africa and Usutu? Have I missed something or did the Haitian finally catch up with me??? I remember him having the SpiritWalk when he ate Usutu’s paste (because the paste opens up the channels of the mind that allows for such a psychic experience) but since then, WHEN has Hiro’s eyes ever gone white, or WHEN has he dreamed/ glimpsed the future? Matt is the only one that has retained this ability, and that’s due to the nature of his powers. As far as I can remember, anyway.

And (I must be coming across as a really argumentative person lol! ) IMO Sylar DOES have Nathan’s Flight ability… only time will tell, but re-watch the ep just before Nathan gets killed… After Sylar throws him back into the room, he hovers down to the balcony. Reckon that’s due to TK? Well, LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY… you can hear Nathan’s signature ‘flying’ sound as Sylar lands, which usually indicates which ability is being used. You can hear the exact same sound before this, when Nathan and Peter are on their way to fight Sylar, and Nathan reveals his power to his old school buddy, forgot his name… Tom something? So I’m betting that Sythan can fly as well.

It wasn’t Usutu, it was the PASTE! Think of it as a psychedelic trip or something… it OPENS UP or enhances the mind’s psychic channels (which everyone has). It was said that the paste is like Isaac’s heroin, which didn’t actually GIVE him the power to see the future (or the skill to paint), it was just a tool… a means to access what was already there in the first place. Obviously Usutu must have just used it to access/ enhance his natural precog abilities… possibly the paste activated it in the first place like it did with Parkman precog-painting.

And actually, thinking about it, I thought Hiro only spiritwalked back into the PAST – which was where he was adamant that he didn’t want to travel to, in case he messed up the timeline? He saw Arthur’s backstory, and also Flint and Meredith’s? Did he see Sylar’s too, can’t remember?

I think with Kensei he got drunk coz his ability hadn’t activated yet… the first time it did was when he got hit wit the arrows to the chest (didn’t he get one in the heart and ‘die’ for a few seconds? IDK). But I think you have a point… if he was drinking himself into a stupor all day and night, you’d think his ability would have been active at some point lol! But then again, maybe it was? We couldn’t see how healthy his insides were i.e. his liver… and how quickly did he sober up?

I reckon Claire kinda ‘accelerated’ her ability when she was doing her ’suicide attempts’, so by the time she came to even touch alcohol, her body could shrug off that subtle poison. With Kensei it was probably the opposite… the arrows were a bigger shock and threat to his body than all that alcohol, so that’s when his healing factor stepped up a couple of gears.

righ, we’ve been hearing the micah/mj thing for a long time now. so im gonna try n be th one that finally squashes it into a tiny little sqauare.

- micah and mj are not at all related, as far as we know. People onlyy have similar powers in their family. hence meradith and flint, mory and matt. its true that nathan and west can both fly, but they fly in different ways, plus nathans power in synthetic which changes everything.

- micah can talk to electronics (machines) and make them do what he wants. if he wanted to, he could turn a machine off or on. he couldnt however turn someone’s power off or one.

- on the other hand MJ, lives up to the name todler touch and go. they can both turn machines off and on, but mj cant make a crane come to his aid as micah does in that graphic novel. micah can only handle electronics, mj can handle people, and electronics in few specific ways.

do you see now? they can do some of each others things, but at the same time their powers are totally different. like meradith and elle. thery can both use their power to start a fire, but meradith cant electricute someone.

i think that made up barbara without any idea of what to do with her. if they killed off tracy they would be left with one character for ali, and it would hv been soo predictable. i think that barbara may or may not appear near the end of redemption, as a villain hopefully.

all we know about barbara is where she lived, who her parents where, and that she knew dr zimmerman who had a photo of her in his living room. check heroes wiki for that photo. im keen to see her as a villain, but tracy too would make a good one!

@gotay… U got a point about the eclipse triggering Adam’s abilities, prob’ly spot on there! I disagree about Claire though… don’t reckon that what Sylar did is why she can’t get drunk. Think Wolverine… his healing factor treats alcohol like a poison to the body (which it essentially is) so it deals with it almost immediately – but u know this already, so nuff said! In theory, that type of ability should be able to deal with most types of intoxication (alcohol, tranqs & other drugs, maybe gases too???).

@Tarot… Yes, Claire was rescued, but I’m pretty sure her ability kept her safe too (smoke inhalation, heat, etc)… I think it’s been mentioned as well by Bennet or someone, but I can’t be too sure on that.

@alexx… The significance of the eclipses can be a bit vague and confusing! The best theory that I can come up with will probably confuse more though lol! To cut a long post short
a) The key to controlling these abilities lies in the brain…
b) The percentage of water in the brain is 80%.
c) The moon (it’s gravitational pull on the Earth) affects the tides, therefore it affects water on the planet…
d) … including in our bodies, and therefore our brains (in subtle ways).
e) So does the sun to an extent (since it’s gravity acts on all the planets to keep everything in orbit), but in different ways.
e) Imagine the forces acting upon each other when the sun, moon and earth all align (an eclipse)… and how they would affect the water on the planet.

Doesn’t really answer WHY abilities are triggered or nullified, but hopefully my theory can shed a bit of light (no pun intended) on how or why an eclipse might have an effect on Specials.

@sk, true about the comparison in Claire/Wovie’s regen ability and that makes sense. But wouldn’t that work similarly vs. tranqs? I mean even Sylar before getting Claire’s ability was able to stop the sedation Mohinder was giving him in his house using TK and similarly when he escaped the facility in S1, so that’s still out there to me…
As far as Nathan’s memory wipe, I’m sure that was most likely Arthur as he did it to his wife and was down with his son dying so that seems spot on…also, if you remember what the agent in Ukraine said when Noah/Hatian went to see him was “You brought the Haitan, what can he do?” And Noah says “My friend here has LEARNED a new trick” so even his ability developed from nullifying abilities to nullifying memories as well…so he most likely didn’t have it at that age when the Ukranian agent was still a big part of the company.

Just to fill in the blanks… sounded to me like Lydia says:

some1 asked about sylars main aim. 1st of all im guessing he wants to establish control over his body aagain and know who he is. then he’ll want to finish proposing to claire but then leave her for a while to make her decision. then he will want revenge on those who did this to him. he’ll continue running for president.

if he did achieve allt hese aims, without any consequences (impossible its a tv show), i assume he would search for class 1 powers, only the best. such as claires, which he already has, that would be class 1. for instance now that he has telekeneseis and electricity, he doesnt need any more attacking powers, the fewer the better i think or he would be confused over which to use, hense him not taking flint or meradiths power.

powers that he would want: superstrength, he didnt kill knox for it, but it would be quite useful. ability to fly. his telekenesis flight isnt exactly easy, u saw how he had to steady himself in an invisible thread. oh he may want to get his old power back, the ones which he lost remember? and from the powers future, we know that he can get them back as he exploads in the bennet house. also i can see him wanting teleporting which is so useful, how he would get hold of it i dont know…

put it this way, i think he wants revenge, especially on matt.

I hope NBC publishes the trailer soon because it sucks to have to read transcripts since it’s inaudible.

From the look of the trailer, Peter saves someone as a paramedic using superstrength. Later on, he uses superspeed to duke it out with another superspeeder in a knife fight. All of this in the first three and a half episodes. That means that he either manages to control several abilities again (which I doubt, especially so soon in the season) or that he’s become much more aggressive with ability switching. He also seemed to be somewhat lightheaded. Possibly because he’s back to saving people and because he thinks that he’s good with his bro again.

The Sylar/Nathan storyline seems fantastic. Sylar holding baby Matt saying “I want my body back”… Sylar’s better not make the baby cry or he’ll become powerless.

Ok so here is an obvious question… … WHEN the hell was Hiro in this carnival?? That is crazy! I think that his father was a little too controling over him to allow him to “JOIN THE CIRCUS” dont you? Gosh.. of all the cheesy kid dreams, they choose joinging the circus.!!!!!!!

I really doubt Peter will have multiple abilities so soon in the season (if at all). I think the teaser is about the first 3 and a half episodes.

I would actually be really disappointed if Peter suddenly began using multiple abilities for no apparent reason. Peter re-acquiring the ability to control multiple powers should be a really big deal, a turning point. Not “Oh, by the way, I actually absorbed Sylar’s IA so now I understand how to access all the powers I’ve copied since Arthur wiped me clean.” or some crap like that.

My guess is that Peter is just more opportunist at taking abilities. At least for now.

Hiro’s storyline indeed looks promising. I’m looking forward to see him grow up; he’s been annoyingly childish/retarded in the past season and I’m not even talking about when Arthur wiped his memory down to when he was 10.

It’d be quite a shocker if Sylar killed Matt then took of with his baby to raise him.

I think what’s most likely to happen is Sylar might take the baby in hostage to force Matt to give him his memory back.

What would be funny is if Matt trying to brainwash Sylar again but screwed up. Like, Sylar’s holding the baby saying he’ll cut his head off if Matt doesn’t give him his memory back, but Matt instead attempts to brainwash him while constantly thinking “I must save my child, I must save my child”, mistakenly shoving it into Sylar’s mind who’d then be convinced that it’s HIS baby and that he has to give him the father he himself never had.

Peter taking I.A without having the hunger would be rather hard to explain. I seriously doubt he copied anything from Sylar besides shapeshifting.

I also disagree that he played “ability roulette” and got shapeshifting out of the lot. He made it obvious to Sylar that he purposely took THAT ability to counter him.

Dark Matt and good Sylar… writers would have a hard time convincing me to buy those. Many viewers would be upset; kidnapping is really not something to toy with no matter how goofy Sylar would become to gain the baby’s favors. There are more entertaining/less dramatic paths to take for this, IMHO.

@F.D. Yeah, he made an bland statement about taking THAT ability without any explanation to how he took it since even he doesn’t know how his NEW ability works! He was just understanding his latent genetic ability before Arthur took it and all he knows of his new ability is he takes them with his hands…he doesn’t know if he’s still a power bank like Arthur and can retain them or not, as he didn’t in S1 with his empathy until Claude beat them out of him…giving him his original ability back or making it similar but the method to collect them being different would be the best road…also, he took Sylar’s ability at the end of the season so who says he doesn’t have the hunger? And why wouldn’t you buy the Dark Matt since it already seems that’s where he’s headed trying to distance himself at the end of last season? Good Sylar, I can agree with you on that one because he’s too good a villian, but I wouldn’t mind him getting a rest and seeing Samuel or his father Samson go on a rampage. Samuel being able to control the earth should be an amazing power and they said the Tatoo chick in the Carnival is an EM as well….what if Peter touches her, get her empathy and wa la! Peter has his old ability again! That would be plausible, no? You and I have had debates in the past and I know you don’t like the God Peter with the EM bro, but I lost interest without Super Peter personally…and the same would happen without Sylar, he’s too good an actor and villian!

yeah i know we saw Dark Matt in S1 when he killed Noah. I was trying to remember if he was bad in the future we saw w/good Gabriel…? Do you remember?

DLS… Oh yeah how could I have forgotten that? I would say that Matt was good in that future, at least until he watched Daphne die, that probably messed him up. But he had his daughter so that MAY have kept him right. But we will never know sicne that future is no more…!
I like Matt, I think that 95% of the time his heart is in the rite place, and he wants (like most people) to be happy, and to keep his family healthy, happy, & safe. So in turn he would do most anything to keep them that way.

@F.D. some only speculated that parts of that future would come true and they have! Sylar doesn’t have Candice’s ability, but he found James Martin who’s ability is better than hers…another future, he got Claire’s healing power when he was president, instead he got it years earlier since Peter came back and interrupted the time continium shooting Nathan…Nikki may not be alive, but her twin sister Tracy is and we didn’t even know about her then…Claire’s parents were divorced and where’s that heading? So everything is not EXACTLY happening because it can’t once you change the present that affects the future…time travel changed everything…Peter may or may not get that scar as you said once again from the changing of events, but it’s still a possibility as Hiro may never be whom we saw because Ando is alive. I mean, 5YG is the original future that was set to take place and the changing of that caused the ripple effects of the other futures created like the Shanti Virus. Everyone didn’t get the formula as you said because they stopped it, but realistically that future was going to happen had they not…and I agree that we can’t believe everything we see in these futures, but it has to be noted that parts of them do seem to come to fruition and that’s how the writers keep the suspense. As long as time travel exists and they keep leaping around, it will affect the outcome and shape the future differently, which we’ve seen. And to a degree, Sylar DID in fact turn/attempt to be good before Elle corrupted him back to the Darkside, which in the end cost her her life…that allowed him to use empathy (another unexplained plot hole) as a Petrelli, which he’s not…as you can see, most of Sylar’s rampage is because of not knowing who he was and not having a family. He really wanted to believe he was a Petrelli and have a sense of entitlement…

Sugar Daddy Sylar seemed to assume he was a Petrelli when you consider he(or was it the kid) referred to Peter as “Uncle Pete”. He was certainly friendly with Peter, even laughin because he knew he was still a villain to young Peter.

So you could push it as far as assuming that Good Sylar died the day Evil Sylar got lie detection and figured Arthur & Angela manipulated him!

I also recall that Future Peter refused to help Claire which materialized into Sylar actually getting what he wanted from her. Maybe Peter thought it had to happen because Sylar was his buddy in a future in which it occurred? Then BAM, Sylar figures that he’s not a Petrelli, Peter has no ability, and Nathan’s dead. This is not remotely close to any of the future we were into so far, if you ask me.

I’m convinced that episodes occurring in the future are just there to show us “what would’ve happened if…” and that we should stop caring for them the day the whatif doesn’t happen.

Peter went back in time to kill Nathan not only because everyone had abilities in his timeline, but because specials eventually blowed the planet up. And it didn’t seem to be a really distant future.

And also because he wanted to “fix” Claire, I think.

I can’t wait for the 4th Season. I have watched every single episode from the very beginning. Hope they don’t cancel the show like they have talked about. they say that there is not enough rating Hope not

so i was thinking… u know how even though Arthur took away Hiro’s power, he was still able to get it back after baby touch and go aka MJ? (yes for now i will concede the fact that MJ and Micah have different abilities). My point, and i think someone else might have mentioned this too, is that Hiro’s ability wasnt REALLY taken away, it was temporarily removed. So I think that Arthur may have also temprarily removed Peter’s power, and he doesnt know it. when he injected himself with the synthetic formula, i think he gave himself a brand new power, kind of like what ppl were saying may have happened to Nathan (that he was born with a diff power related to the Petrelli lineage, but had it taken away and given the new one) so since he doesnt realize that his original empathic power is still dormant in him, he’s only tapping in to the power of the take one power at a time empathy. maybe if he touches MJ or concentrates hard enough he can re-use is own original power again. I know that before i said that maybe Arthur didnt take ALL of Hiro’s powers but just his teleportation because he hasnt been able to do that since the encounter with arthur in the past, but perhaps i was wrong, and since the trailers show Hiro traveling back 14 yrs to see himself, he may have been able to reconnect with that ability. I just hope Peter doesnt get an aneurism every time he empaths a power… that would make his story line as corny as Hiro’s is right now.

@FD i dont think Sylar is “living” inside matts head, i just think matt is over ridden with guilt for what he did that he’s making himself go a lil crazy. good ppl cant live with themselves when they do something that bad to other ppl… i speak from experience.

Great theory about Hiro & Ando. It’s not that I want Ando to die, but lets face it – someone has to, and I agree that killing Hiro is a stupid move and it won’t happen (I hope). Ando on the other hand is a bit more expendable. If he dies we’ll really lose someone that’s been around from the beginning. I like your idea of Ando sacrificing himself for Hiro – That would give Hiro a GREAT plotline in season 5 (long term planing )

@sk74 my money is on Ando too. If Hiro’s storyline has to be really emotional, this would be the culmination. What I’m eager to see is what exactly Hiro is planning to fix. If he changes anything remotely significant, then he could wipe clean everything that happened from S1 to S3. I really doubt writers want to go there.

They say he wants to fix HIS mistakes… Getting the fomula out of the safe ? Screwing Kensei up into a villain? Digging Adam out which caused Arthur to heal? Fixing any of this would result in a huge butterfly effect which he is strongly against. My feeling is that he’ll try to fix mistakes that we don’t even know he’s done yet (he’s done so many)

Speaking of which, take a closer look at the baby’s “OSHI-” face. It’s so hilarious especially combined with the baby’s sounds.

“Nathan” electrocuting himself with lightning bolts scene is quite amusing too.

I’m wondering how it could be possible for Sylar to reside in Matt’s mind in any way. Is he reaching out to Matt similarly to how Arthur entered into Angela’s mind to trap her into a dream ? It requires an extremely potent telepath for this, which Sylar is certainly not at this point. Even Matt requires proximity to do his stuff.

I can’t wait to see how the Sy/than storyline unfold. They cannot keep the dual personality forever… so writers’ll either have to make someone “win”, or make Nathan meet a cloner special, cut his head open to learn his ability, and then duplicate himself to allow both entities to live their own life. But the latter option seems a bit too far fetched.

@gotay78 so you’re saying Arthur could’ve stole telepathy from Nathan then injected him with flight? Very interesting, but I doubt that rabbit would fit in the hat at all if you know what I mean.

One think I dislike about Samuel in the preview is that he seems to be too much like “The specials’ own Danko”. Melodramatic, obsessive and self-righteous. They even look similar when you check closely… The two of them will probably clash sooner or later (and Danko might be on the receiving end judging from the preview)

I didn’t see the preview you mention with Sylar digging himself out. This really confuses me since Sylar would essentially regenerate as soon as he got shot… how would he remain unconscious long enough to have funerals and burying ? Unless it’s Sylar trying to “kill” Nathan from within or something. It’s rather mind-boggling.

@F.D. I know I was reaching a bit with the Arthur/Nathan thing, but trying to be creative, ya know? As far as the extended preview I saw, remember the other red head lady Angela was talking in the restaurant that was I believe used to work for the company in S3 / V4 when she was on the run? Well there’s a scene where Nathan is kidnapped whom the red head lady hired and he calls her and says “it’s done” while she’s eating with Angela. Angela asks if everything is alright and she says just fine…then they show the guy throwing Nathan into a ditch, shooting him multiple times and I believe Samuel covers him in dirt…when Sylar was climbing out of the dirt gasping for air was probably when he realized who he was and regained his senses because he wasn’t Nathan when he came out…also there was a part where they showed Peter messing with that compass Samuel had and it somehow became engraved in his skin afterwards like a tatoo…remember how they show Noah giving Pete the compass, well it was extended where he Noah says, Strange it doesn’t work for me but only when you touch it…the one I saw was bootleg camcorder recording of it live at ComicCon where the crowd was screaming and going wild…there were more scenes too but I can’t remember them all because it was literally up for one day…

What if Arthur was jealous of Charles’ power then figured Nathan had a similar one ? He could’ve stole it, then pretended Nathan was a weakling with no ability and injected him with a synthetic one to cover his move.

Persuasion or something would make a lot of sense for a kid with ambitions to become a lawyer/politician. Abilities always kinda were linked to personality somehow – at the point the person is at a high level of adrenaline – (Nathan took off for the first time to save his butt form the car accident)

The more I think about it, more I’m believing that Nathan will find out that he used to be the original “ability stealer/vessel”, and Arthur somehow took it from him or maybe disabled it out of fear that he would one day render him powerless.

This could be REALLY important, because it might make “Nathan” believe that his new abilities are NOT because he’s Sylar, but because his old power(s) is(are) re-surfacing. As weird as it sounds, it would be a really interesting way to keep “Nathan” clueless about his real fate for a while instead of realizing in episode 1 or two that he’s actually Sylar.

Well I certainly wouldn’t expect Samuel to show off a huge dirt fist like we saw in the GN (with special effects à la “The Mummy”). The problem when giving spectacular powers is budget.

Let’s face it… the one scene we see Samuel use his ability took what… two guys with shovels pushing dirt in the the hole he tossed the compass in ? From the hole’s angle it was easy to make a cheap scene.

Even Tracy’s water form must be costing a lot to do. So, once in a while, they have to introduce a dude who’s ability is waterbreathing or give us a knife fight on fast-forward and call it “superspeed” to compensate.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m quite amazed that we can get so many special effects into a tv show. I mean, other popular shows like Dexter, Lost and JB certainly don’t cost as much to produce unless they pay actors and writers way more for some reason.

But picturing the two technicians pushing dirt into the hole with shovels while Samuel does his move, or pushing the FFWD button to make the knives fight look faster, or activating a big-ass fan when Alice is angry certainly amuses me.

In a sense, this is precisely what makes heroes different from superheroes movies: focusing more on the characters than showing off the tricks they can do. After all, it’s not like anyone here would mind evolving into having enhanced hearing/memory, waterbreathing, telepathy or precog dreaming even if these abilities don’t come with lots of bells and whistles.

From a genetic point of view, it makes perfect sense that two brothers might have natural abilities that are related in some way (similar/ opposing/ symbiotic i.e. dependent on each other, etc).

Indeed. Just take a look at Flint & Meredith Gordon or Maury/Samson & their respective son…

However, for each case of similarities we have, we get things like D.L and Nikki spawning a technopath and Nathan & Meredith having a rapid cell regenerator.

So maybe people with similar abilities just had similar environments or catalysts and genetics is entirely irrelevant? In this case, Peter being way different from Nathan would make sense since Arthur always considered Peter like a wimp, especially compared to his big brother.

I think writers will never fully answer the question. It would just kill the mythos around people with abilities that are more or less related to their personalities/states of mind at the moment they reach a high adrenaline point, triggered on and off by eclipses… while being synthetically inducible!

Assuming Kaito actually has the ability to predict the outcome of everything (which has never been confirmed since it was in deleted scenes) you could almost pretend that it’s somewhat related to Hiro’s ability.

One can predict outcomes, the other one can change them.

Since he probably has no mirrors available out there, he probably won’t even figure out he’s wearing Quinto’s face before taking back Pasdar’s.

And man, just as we thought Angela was a manipulative bitch, look at her “friend”!

The only additional info you get form this one compared to the short one is:

We see a guy tranquilize, shoot, then bury “Nathan”. Millie (the red headed “friend” Angela met in a restaurant while fleeing from Danko’s agents) is again at the restaurant with Angela. They’re discussing Nathan. Millie seems to disapprove him and Angela says that he’s just not been quite himself lately. Millie receives a phone call saying “The package is delivered” then she smiles to Angela and cheers. Right after we see Sylar getting out of the dirt.

One hilarious scene we get is Matt attending some kind of anonymous alcoholics seminar, and Sylar is standing in the middle like it’s his turn to speak saying “Hi my name is Sylar, AND I WANT MY BODY BACK!”. Of course, only Matt sees him.

Peter looks at his forearm and see the compass is tattooed on it. This probably has something to do with the carnival’s tattoo girl? Considering the compass seemed to only work in Peter’s presence (Noah could not make it do anything) I’m beginning to wonder if Peter wouldn’t be some kind of “Chosen One” for the carnival?

i don’t know what it is but i am soooo hypnotized (gah need a spellchecker on here) by the peter knife scene vid lol. hmm.

angela can paint the future so combined with arthers taking powers permenently, peter can do a futurisic version of arthers power. then again i said that as matt could control and therefore turn the mind off and on, his son mj could turn everything including minds off and on and therefore be extremely powerful…

well i thought that the carnival thing was supposed to last the whole volume, until i read about the samuel/earth mover guy was originally only going to be in the first few eps but it might be more now, so i’m guessing that it will just be him and not the rest of the carnival.
also when i was looking at the trailer, the bit with danko and tracy, danko moved really fast. at first i thought it was tracy but i’m sure its danko, slowed it down incase of good editing (as in them trying to confuse us with the knife speedster and danko) but its still danko – wtf is going on ?!?!

@FD, i can totally see him trynna cut off IA, i think if he ever gets it again it would have to be from some random encounter with Samson Gray… at least early on. if he gets it from Sylar too early on that would be boring and cliche. but also, cant he control which power he wants to take from a multi-powered person, at least now with his “i can only take one ability at a time” power?
but i also just thought of something… i think that if he touches tatoo-empath he may have no choice but to channel that power forever… bc even if he touches someone else and absorbs another power, he will be attempting to switch from all-absorbent to a single, and i think he may inadvertently just absorb that new ability as a tatoo instead of switching… know what i mean? like, any new power he attempts to gain after tatoo gal’s power will be permanently absorbed and he wont be able to switch out of it ever…

Hello, this is my first time posting, i checked out the trailer, the guy that moved super fast was the guy with the “mohawk” you can see there hair right when he starts moving, so it obviously can’t be danko

@Kari, in S2, he did have the Pinehearst insignia on his skin that only came up briefly to show us the company had him, which was when Bob/Elle kidnapped him from the hospital and were feeding him those pills….remember that Tatoo girl is an empath like Peter was, so that ability she was using to see the future could be one she picked up since as a Carnival, they’ve traveled all over and encountered all type of people…also, the interesting thing I saw with the Peter and Knife throwing speedster fight was Peter grabbed him and threw him with super strength, but didn’t didn’t touch his skin. Peter’s ability now is like Rogue’s from X-MEN without the energy drain so he would have to touch your skin to attain the power. He grabbed the dude’s arm, flung him and then tells noah, he was powers before going in on the superspeed…it looks like he has his empathy back or learned that he can store powers with his new synthetic ability…it would be corny if he has to bo back to HQ everytime to touch someone before going on a mission like Mohinder to have to scale the walls like we saw in the preview. I think my boy is back and now I’m EXTRA excited to see this season and what abilities he has or will gather…also, I’m STILL on the Samson bandwagon and want to see him shown at some point to either be in the next season or have a relevant role…would be interesting to say the least and maybe Samule will convince Alice to join the Carnival and finally feel at home? Count down the days guys and I hope my NY Giants aren’t playing on Monday night game on Heroes 2 hour premier!

@F.D./Kari/Sk, did you hear of Emma Bray, the new love interest of Peter has a crazy ability where she can see “wave Lengths/patterns”, Peter touches her taking her ability and this is how she somehow shows Pete how to “re-connect” with himself?? I have a feeling that once he acquires this ability, he may be able to recognize the wave lengths in one’s ability allowing him to “understand how it works” to a degree, but still taking it emphatically! This would be another ingenius way like an evolutionary jump how Parkman is somehow using his telepathy to be able to spirit walk still…once his mind entered that realm, being a telepath, he should be able to follow the recourse on how to re-open the telepathic gateway since it’s similar to his latent ability, so it kind of makes sense…wierd is how Sylar is partially trapped in his mind, but I have a feeling Sylar’s consciousness slipped into his mind when he tried to bury his thoughts…well, we’ll see what theories of our come to fruition and analyze accordingly. GO HEROES!!

Highlights:

Peter mistakenly takes Emma’s power and they share the experience of discovery of that power together.

Emma has the power to see sound waves as colours. She will learn to manipulate what she sees to have impact on others. Her power can be very beautiful and very dangerous.

That sounds (pun!) really interesting! This would be the “real” sound manipulation ? Then they’ll have to rename Echo’s ability to “really loud screaming” or something.

I can’t wait to learn more of this ability because it looks pretty abstract. She can see sound waves as colors, and apparently learns to manipulate them somehow. So she could make people hear things (and really mess with their head) and/or possibly develop Echo/Sylar’s sound manipulation and make stuff explode or something.

I’m not sure how you got to believe it would be related in any way to ability replication ? You’d think that special abilities all generate a unique sound wave length and Peter would in turn be able to identify and replicate them? I honestly have a hard time to believe they’d make it so complicated.

I’m reluctant to buy the “ability replication via sound waves” idea in part because it would allow Peter to identify specials on the spot. For example if he met a person with lie detection, he’d be able to figure they did something. This is not only weird, but would also allow Peter to copy abilities from great distances. He could sit all day in the park and copy just look at the waves, copying everything. I really doubt writers want to jump back into the “all you can eat buffet” for Peter. They’ll want to keep his powers somewhat limited otherwise they’ll have to force another reset at some point.

And also, come on, you know Sylar’s I.A. doesn’t ACTUALLY have a watch mechanism sound effect.

I think what’s more likely to happen is Peter will get really close with Emma, and they’ll together learn how to toy with her ability. Emma will learn new sound manipulating tricks, and Peter will, through lowering his guard to her, reconnect with his old empathic ways. Season 1 Peter was made of selflessness, full of dreams and hopes that the world was worth saving one person at a time. This guy died with Arthur’s then Nathan’s betrayal, but I’m willing to bet that Emma will bring him back from his slumber.

This is basically what I’m reading between the lines of interviews/spoilers I’ve seen so far.
1) Milo acknowledged Peter is getting his innocence/happiness back
2) Kring said Peter will “find out that life means staying connected to others” through his relation with Emma
3) Deanne Bray said Peter gets really tight with Emma through mistakenly copying her ability and then helping her explore it.

If this doesn’t end out with THE COMEBACK OF PETER’S EM then I don’t know what can!

@F.D., OK after looking it at that way, I guess you’re right with the wave lengths theorem….I guess in anticipation of this season, I can’t help but formulate some kind of alternate scenario! LOL What you said is how I originally thought until I saw the wave lengths and my mind just went into another realm of possibility and you’re right that it would make him unstoppable, which personally, I didn’t mind!

As far as Sylar, I didn’t mean the watch sound as much as the screeching when he’s sawing your head off…but I get the point! And for the Haitan, you know if HRG/Angela are around they need their boy to limit the level 5 characters so maybe he’ll go right back where he belongs. I agree that they say WTF he’s been while all these mofo’s have been on the run. How come they never pursued him or did he wipe their memories when they arrested him? We’ll see but glad he’s back….

@gotay78 writers said that Angela’s new company will not be about locking up baddies anymore, but more like the original company’s goal: to help people with abilities. The Haïtian was essential for bag & tag missions but if the company turns into some kind of refuge, I’m wondering what part he will take into it?

The Haïtian was still on Danko’s board, which makes me believe that they never cought him. The last thing we saw of him was trying to catch Sylar after Arthur died. They will probably give us a kind of “he was too exhausted to control Sylar after doing his thing to Arthur, so Sylar managed to escape, then figured he couldn’t trust anyone after hearing Danko’s cabal so he stayed in hiding”. But I really want to hear what officially happened.

I actually liked the preview. It got me excited for the new season. I thought “Heroes” got back on track toward the end of last season, so I am eager to see new episodes.

Also IMO…I think that we can rest assured that there will be a “5Months ago” or whatever the title may be, an episode where they show us what happened at the end of S3, after the finale. THey have done similar things every other season. THis is where we will find out (hopefully) what happened to the Haitian, and others that they left hanging… HOPEFULLY

@Kari, I’ve said the same thing from Day 1 when this past season ended…they will show us what happened in that room during the fight, they will show us the convo between Angela/HRG before they asked Matt to bury Sylar’s memories and hopefully some other left out parts like where the Haitan has been etc,…I also read Rose’s (Angela) interview and she said Peter and Sylar would be morphing into multiple people this season and some of them being old characters…sounds nice! Also something about Nathan’s original ability kind suggesting it may have been something else or he’s confused about it with his new arsenal of powers from Sylar…hmmmm…and that Nathan will get redemption to a degree this season, this sounds like it’ll be good, eh?

Gotay… wouldnt it be AWESOME if they brought back Monica, or someone like that? Monica would be perfect! Could ya imagine if Peter had Monica’s power? Or WORSE, could you imagine if SYLAR had Monica’s power??? Uh-Oh. So here’s an off the wall question, if someone with Monica’s ability watched someone ELSE with an ability use there power, would she be able to mimic there POWER? Huh?
However..it probably doesnt matter if THEY NEVER BRING BACK MONICA! That SUCKS! They could at least tell us what the HELL happened to her. LOTS of people loved her charachter, and for her to just drop off the earth like that SUCKS. Gotay,,, I am feeling more & more confident that what we were discussing awhile back, about Nathan having an original ability that Arthur took away, and then gave him an artificial/injection & that is how he got flying….but I feel more confident that it is true, in some effect.

FD..while i agree with you, it makes sense n all. But… they did have her doing triple front flips, on a horse bar (or whatever that olympic bar is called) and TRUST me that takes a lot of muscle & strength. Not to mention when she did that flip around thing and knocked the robber thru the glass, that took a lot of muscle and she’s a Small girl that works flippin burgers all day, so i would assume she’s not very strong. But in reality I agree w/you, but I’m saying what they have showed us doesnt go along those same lines. Oh well, we may never see her again… sniff…sniff.

@Karinboutheroes. i was bit worried that sylar might gain ando’s power, that would be really really bad, although that would be using two powers at the sametime (supercharging and something else) and i cant think of anyone doing that before.

gotta say i’d love for them to bring back micah full time, oh and molly.

The idea that Peter might be getting his EM back really makes me think: will we get the “You will pay for what you did to Nathan” scene ?

I’ve been really reluctant to assume any future showed to us by writers could be close the the reality. But we have to face the facts that 1) They will never let Nathan win the Sylar/Nathan inner fight and 2) Peter will be REALLY pissed off when he learns what happened to his brother.

I think Peter should learn the whole thing near the end of this volume. This would make a GREAT focus and theme for next volume:
“Heroes: Payback”.
Peter goes ape-sh*t at Sylar, helped by HRG who’s mad at him for ruining his marriage
Sylar is after Matt and his family, and also want to eliminate all the Petrellis
Tracy helped by Micah, finally gets her 1on1 with Danko (although I actually believe he’ll bite the dust in this volume)
Samson wants his revenge on his son (and steal his abilities)
Sylar learns that Claire helped Samson heal his cancer and wants to rip her head off
Hiro goes badass Ninja because Ando died at some point.
Samuel wants revenge on whoever pissed him off in any way in this volume.
Angela wants to deal with Millie for attempting to kill his son
Alice is just angry at the world and want to rip it apart

I wonder if they could pack that much action in one volume.

i have a question. Elle was able to teach Sylar to empathically take her power, altho he had no empathic abilities himself. was that part of his “understanding the way things work” power? because he also empathically took the morphing power from the other dude… my point:
why cant peter “train” himself to once again empathically take powers? if sylar could do it and thats not even his ability…
also, this whole talk of sylar “wanting his body back”… come on, sylar is in his own body, just morphed and brainwashed into thinking hes Nathan. i strongly believe that Matt’s guilt for lying to everyone is causing him to have nightmares about this whole situation, but sylar doesnt even know that he’s sylar yet!

I think that the redemption nathan gets is that his reputation gets cleared and he helps settle the homo superior vs homo sapien (xmen reference) war that he began… and after he does that will the writers probably bring sylar back officially… i dont think a sylar that knows that he’s sylar morphed as nathan would act the part as well as he needs to and wouldnt really want to stop the war… i mean, sylar helped danko bc he was able to track the “mutants” that way… so he;d probably wanna keep this thing going to find more and eat… i mean, explore…their brains…

they probably will bring back Monica, Micah, and the grandma in this season. if she was in th epicture of the original founders of the company, and if theyre bringing back Millie (the crzy red-head) then theres no reason not to re-include DLs mom. i think that there will be another Tracy/Micah reunion, and that might lead to tracy meeting the family and trying to find her roots after she gets revenge on Danko’s men… maybe find her other sister and see what power she got, biological parents, etc.

It was not Elle who taught Sylar to use his empathy, but actually Arthur.

Arthur, being an ability stealer and an original company founder was VERY knowledgeable about how abilities work. He KNEW that Sylar could mimic using empathy. So either he knew that Sylar had EM buried deep inside, or there’s a gimmick with ablities, whereas any special could in theory copy abilities if they really, really empathize with other specials.

Starting from the point that both Sylar and Peter can empathicly mimic, there is only one thing that prevents Sylar from being the power sponge Peter used to be: his absolute lack of empathy whatsoever. Peter was not only an ability sponge, but also hyperconnected to people in his vicinity.

Sylar managed to use EM through almost fusioning with Elle’s distress, and used his clairsentience to really know what James Martin was all about. Elle’s empathic connection was his first and only true emotional one. James Martin’s connection was purely a mix of clairesentience and I.A. allowing him to exactly understand his feelings.

This is why I always liked to say that both Peter and Sylar can use EM, but whereas Sylar has Intuitive Aptitude… Peter’s actual “ability” was Intuitive Empathy.

This is all a part of the Mythos connecting eclipses, emotions and adrenaline. Arthur was well aware that Sylar could pull it off. Maybe not everyone has the understanding/emotional connection to EM.

Ok, so remember in S1 when Nathan(Sylar) was president, and who was his right hand man on the secret service?? MATT! So i’m gonna say it once again, they ARE taking things from the different futures we have seen so far, and putting it into this season! I KNEW IT! So betcha’ that Matt & Sythan are gonna be buddied up together! Matt is going to go down his “dark path” and it’s goiing to be because of what he has done. i dont think he’s going to be EXACTLY as he was when we saw him in the future ep, but I do feel like all his evils are catching up to him and going to change him as we know him

Well he was definately a loner cop in the future we saw in S1. and remember HRG had given him a picutre that Matt Jr had drawn for him? Also I think that Matt is mostly good, but he had made so many bad decisions he probably drove his wife & MJ away on purpose because he knew how Sylar is , and they would be the 1st thigns sylar would try to take away, to hurt mattt. or maybe its a thing where sylar tells matt, help me or i will kill them, then matt just falls into the bad guy lifestyle. or maybe somehow Sylar helps Matt and in turn he holds it above his head to keep him working w/him. Ohh i’m sooooo excited! Well also Sylar didnt kill Mohinder, not that he had a power in that future, but Sylar has always been fascinated by certain people like suresh, even tho he killed Papa Suresh, he was fascinated by him also at 1st.

I really doubt that Greg meant that he’d become Sylar’s lackey by “going down the dark path”. In 5YG, I think Matt was more zealous than purely evil. He took his work as a special agent seriously, and was eager to please the president (which I doubt he knew was Sylar). So I think he honestly brought him Claire because he thought Nathan would like to see his MIA daughter, not to feed her to Sylar.

Matt becoming darker would mean he’d tend more toward Arthur/Maury. Forcing people’s thoughts and actions. When given the choice between a bloodfest and hiding himself and relatives under illusions, he always chose the latter (except when Daphnee got shot).

If Matts gives up and actually unleashes Sylar’s fury, Sylar will certainly ravage the Petrellis and resume his plan on taking over presidency. This could have dire consequences on his conscience.

But here’s more food for thought if we want to keep up with futures: in the beginning of Vol.3, Peter had shapeshifting (he shifted into his younger self to hide his scar) and BODY INSERTION. This can lead to an entirely different storyline where Peter finds out what’s going on with Nathan/Sylar and manages to rip Nathan out of Sylar’s body, in turn freeing Sylar!

@Karin but Nathan always cheated death so far. Kring said his death would stick, but not that it would stick forever.

They will probably consider this option amongst others…

- Killing Sylar (would certainly not be profitable given his popularity)
- Erasing Nathan’s memory for good (would be rather drastic given the fact that he played a major role in most hinted futures)
- Making Sylar forever shift in and out of Nathan’s face, pretending to be him as president (would eventually get old)
- And finally split the apple in two, Nathan becomes himself again and Sylar finally gets his body back. (would feed the “How will Nathan survive that one?” running gags)

all i have to say is IF they do use the “BODY INSERTION”: thing, they better make it look good and pull it off the right way, cuz if not, it’s gonna make the entire show look different. i dunno i just didnt care for it the last time, too cheesy.

@FD… didnt Angela snatch him up before he met up with Arthur? after sylar killed bob aka king midas, didnt he and elle end up in a dungeon together where she was electrecuting the shit out of him? and then they started talking, and he felt remorse, and then she showed him how to take her power and use it

Arthur told Sylar “you don’t have to kill people to get their power, you can use your empathy”. Then locked him up with Elle. Elle, who had issues controlling her ability due to emotional instability, enraged, tried to blow him up but Sylar felt sincerely sorry, and they both concluded they were monsters, products of their parents mistakes (empathy right there). Elle then gained control of herself and Sylar sparkled a bit of lightning saying “I can do it!”. Elle then trained him into being BETTER with the ability because he was really pathetic at using it.

i just hope wen/if nathen finds out hes sylar that he will shape shift back into him cuz i dont think anyone else can pull off that sylar role

He would probably stay undercover under Nathan’s skin for a while.

Especially if he wants to take the president’s place.

I doubt Matt will team up with Sylar. He regrets what he did to him because it’s “wrong” to do this (even to Sylar). Not because he’s afraid for his family, and probably not to the point of turning into a villain.

FYG Matt worked for “president Petrelli”. Sylar managed to even trick Matt too, for some reason they probably didn’t have time to explain in one episode.

One thing I’m concerned about is that once Sylar becomes himself again, he will probably be much more resilient to Matt’s telepathy. I.A. and Rapid Cell Regeneration can go a long way into fixing what Matt can do into his brain. Sylar being the king of “playing possum”, Matt could be in deeper trouble than he imagine if the thinks he can put any kind of leash on him once he “gets his body back”.

I can already imagine a scene like Karin mentionned where Sylar threats Matt with Janice and Matt Jr. Matt does his thing, sending the “No. You won’t hurt Janice and the baby” thought, and Sylar smiles and replies “Oooh yes, I will!”

Oh also… in S1 when Nathan/Sylar & Peter were fighting in that hall, and Pete said, “MY brother cant walk thru walls” then Nathan turned back into SYlar, Matt was right there, they showed him keep looking over at Pete & Sylar, and he was STILL trying to get into the room where Hiro was. So I think he did know to a point. He wasnt shocked when he looked at Syalr & pete.

@Kari, excellent point about the Sylar/Pete fight in the hallway and you’re 100% right that Matt did look, but wasn’t surprised….I knew there was a detail I couldn’t recollect that made me believe that and it was convenient because regardless let’s say Matt didn’t know who he was, why would Sylar keep Matt alive and not just kill him and take his power? They either had an alliance of some sort and maybe he feels he needs Matt help with his ability to take down the rest…Matt is so valuable as you see whom Arhtur valued to get him regenerated.

Matt is basically good we have to keep in mind where he’s coming from. He’s basically been a loser all his life after Maury abandoned him. This made him very impulsive.

He would still be a terrible cop, cheated by his wife and his partner, who can’t even read a grocery list(well, he still can’t) if it was not for developing his ability.

Remember how he almost shot Danko’s whore just to hurt the guy who killed Daphnee and how he “mind-raped” Noah in the motel.

Still, it would suck for Matt to turn into Maury#2

are they gonna actually give peter his old power back and control what powers he gets maybe have to touch them to get their power?
