Man, I don;t like the idea of Peter’s abilities getting taken away! I want his powers back!!!

md October 21, 2008 at 3:19 am

Tonight’s episode was awesome!!! Can’t wait for next weeks.! For once Claire finally starts fighting back, and stops with the angst. Same Adam went, although confusing since he had celluar regeneration-he shouldn’t have been able to wither away so quickly for Arthur.

md October 21, 2008 at 3:22 am

Since Arthur took Peter’s powers, does this mean that Peter has hid father’s ability. It apears that they’re simiular, but Arthur’s is kind of more like Marvel’s Rogue and Wither.

derrick October 21, 2008 at 4:55 am

i really hope peter gets his powers back though because it would kill the show if he didnt right? but i am sure the writers will come up with a crazy way to get his powers back like travel back to the past to kill papa peterelli thus stopping him from taking peters powers but also reviving adam too?

Meathook49 October 21, 2008 at 6:38 am

I bet Peter will get his powers back. While he may have lost them, odds are he still has his “genetic markers”. If he gets an injection from Suresh, perhaps he will regain his mimicry power, but will have to seek everyone out again to get his aquired powers back.

Now that he can’t heal, this could be a set-up to explain how the future version of himself has a scar on his face. In any case, I would bet Peter will get his powers, or at least his mimicry power, back.

Real*GodSend October 21, 2008 at 8:39 am

Ei MAn Meathook49 Your very smart :D I agree with you. I hope you re right. it will be so pitty if peter will not regains his powers :(

Reilsel_0617 October 21, 2008 at 12:09 pm

Hey Meathook49 how about Claire’s “cure-all blood” from season 2? Sylar got his ability back by injecting himself with Claire’s blood. having his absorption power, he could gain all of his powers back again just by encountering his father. I mean, his father has all of his abilities right? Peter can absorb all of them again.

Why cant Peter absorb the Haitian’s power? I really think that the Haitian’s power is very handy.

yeah! peter’s collection of powers are so cool! I don’t want them to be taken away. It seems Gabriel’s shift from villain to hero is not so bad. I want to see Elle more because she is sooo hooot!

Nagi October 21, 2008 at 1:23 pm

Blah peter was loads of times near Haitian and he didn’t took his powers, its kinda plothole, and why do all those heroes are so dumb with their powers and villains use them correctly better than good guys.Geez Peter has best powers but still he manages to loose, or Hiro he can travel time stop it, why can’t he go to the past and kill that Peters dad when he was young, would solve everything XD. Now my Fav. char gonna be Sylor it was Peter but oh mother he doesn’t know how to use his powers at full potential while Sylor knows.

derrick October 21, 2008 at 1:35 pm

i didnt think of that he should still have the genetic markers but still he will have to find all the people but if so cant he still absorb his dads abillty too and just kill him?

Zack October 21, 2008 at 2:26 pm

On a show about people with super powers and a formula that gives people powers, the main character won’t be without powers for long.

He never took the Haitian’s power because while he’s around the Haitian, his power doesn’t work. So he can’t absorb powers if his power doesn’t work.

Claire’s blood mixed with Suresh’s healed Sylar by getting rid of the virus. He then got his powers back because the virus was gone.

bamf October 21, 2008 at 2:59 pm

if peter has the ability to read minds then why couldnt he just read his dad’s thoughts before he stole his abilities.

andune October 21, 2008 at 3:30 pm

If Peter’s father took Peter’s powers, does that mean that he has The Hunger too? That makes him even more villain, I think. But now Peter doesn’t have The Hunger (yay!). Hopefully he has his mimicry power at least, I don’t think that his father could’ve “deleted” all of his son’s powers, why else they created Nathan’s flying power when he was a baby (or why do I recall Angela saying something like she and Arthur were disappointed ’cause Nathan didn’t have any powers when he was born and only Peter had)?

They seem to be too pretty kind with the mind-reading power, ’cause Matt didn’t read Daphne’s mind when he was talking to her.

msubobcats87 October 21, 2008 at 3:38 pm

I gree with the mind reading comment as well, I was thinking the same thing. also, since peter “unlocked” gabriel’s ability to understand how things work, why wouldn’t he be able to realize and understand every new power that he comes into contact with (i.e. his dad’s)? he should be able to understand that his brain changed and absorbed a new ability.

jeuelc October 21, 2008 at 4:15 pm

About Peter not absorbing the Haitian’s power is because the Haitian nullifies all the powers within range. When Peter is near the Haitian, his mimicry power is nullified not allowing him to mimic the Haitian’s power.

As of Arthur taking away Peter’s powers, all I can say is “Good for him!”

Peter has become over-confident with himself that he said to Gabriel that he is the most special. How can he become special when he can’t even control his powers properly, especially with The Hunger.

This is a good time for Peter to ponder what he has become. Having no power at all, he can now see that he is not that special.

My favorite character used to be Peter. But now, its Gabriel Gray.

Wow, im very excited to see the next episode…
I think we can see more of Sylar kicking asses next monday…
Heroes rocks!

Rafa October 21, 2008 at 9:18 pm

I’m happy that Peter’s abbilities got taken away, otherwise he would so some damage…
i’m also relieved Gabriel(Sylar) is almost in the full control of his dangerous abbility,
Hiro is finally using his brain, because he always seemed so innocent and sometimes irritating,
and Parkman’s abbilities are just amazing because he can read minds, make you do what he wants, see the future without even moving from his chair, can he also go to people dreams, like his dad does…

I’m curious to know how Angela escapes from coma, and i’m hopefull that Gabriel(Sylar) can deceive Arthur Patrelli and destroy him, but now that Arthur has the abbility to regenerate after killing Adam, it becomes alot harder

I’m feeling it… i’m hoping for another twist now that Elle came back (Hope Elle comes to the good side)

QT October 21, 2008 at 9:36 pm

They keep killing off the characters I like or making them bad. I wish they would bring Simone back with some sort of power. Peter forgot about her so quickly.

I can’t believe with all his powers, Peter lost his so quickly.

jazzguy_87 October 21, 2008 at 9:51 pm

About Hiro Traveling to the past to kill Arthur:

He won’t do it because of the Butterfly effect- the motif of the season.

what if by Killing arthur he was never born?

He has learned that by changing the past, you could completly destroy the present.

Now, if you only go back in time a little ways, the butterfly effect is much smaller. This is why traveling back to get hit with another shovel, or traveling back to save plant blood on Ando was okay. He still needed to be careful not to create a paradox in which he had no reason to leave to begin with.

Time travel is pretty messy, and the less of it we have the better. You never know when somebody will become their own grandfather, or leave an irish girl in a future that you later change entirely.

Biggie October 21, 2008 at 9:58 pm

I’d like to see some better fight scenes. There is a great leadup to them. Excellent story, acting, etc. But the fighting itself sucks hardcore.

Matej ( Heroes Television) October 21, 2008 at 10:01 pm

That’s mostly because of the budget, although people say that Heroes is focused on drama, characters and story instead of action scenes like X -man where action scenes are important part…

qt.jen October 21, 2008 at 10:49 pm

I think Elle going back for Claire has someting to do with Peter getting his powers back. Just throwing that out there.

Either way I’m excited to see how its going to happen

Tarot October 22, 2008 at 12:16 am

After the latest GN I’m worried exactly what that shock entails other than Elle’s ability.

Jason October 22, 2008 at 12:18 am

Wow what an episode… I thought Arthur petrellis power at first was to make people stop moving when he put Angela in her coma state, then i thought it was to suck the life out of them when he killed Adam munroe, but now I realise, he takes peoples abilities for himself! Wow! So thats where Peters power comes from. He inherited it. And thats why adam munroe just grew really old and died, because he has been alive for over 400 years, so If Arthur takes away his power, then he cant be alive anymore, so he withered and died instantly.

And by the way MEathook49 is NOT smart. Because if he was, hed have realised by now that Sureshs injection doesnt give people there powers, he said he got it wrong. It just mutates them. injecting Peter would just turn him into the monster that suresh has become.

And I think that there is a big reason behind everything. Remember in the future episode, future peter told present peter that the only way to stop everything from happening was by gaining Sylars power? I think this was meant to happen, Arthur Petrelli was meant to steal Peters powers, so that he gets the hunger, and then the future will not play out the same. I dont know. Who knows. Fucks knows.

Reilsel_0617 October 22, 2008 at 4:22 am

Arthur Petrelli’s power is the one Suresh had been researching about – taking away abilities.

Someone please tell me what is Suresh becoming? Some scaly, snake-like creature who spins cocoons? I dunno. Maybe a caterpillar with scales?LOL! Don’ tell me he’s going to be a beautiful butterfly because that’s just so sick! Can some of you guys inform me?

I think Arhur took Peter’s mimicry power too.Because if he didn’t he should be able to shoot his father with electricity by absorbing his father’s power that was originally Peter’s.

Well yeah I agree that Arthur has the hunger now and it spices up his evil character! LoL!

Gabriel is starting to become a hero. Either ways being Gabriel or Sylar, he’s character is way too cool. Aw, at least let’s give Peter another chance.

i am a hero October 22, 2008 at 9:45 am

peter losing his power was really a bad idea! i hope the writers have a GREAT reason behind it! wuhoo! really excited for the future episodes, the twists make all the viewers of heroes HOOKED!

Matej ( Heroes Television) October 22, 2008 at 9:51 am

Maybe he wants to jump from the building because he’s trying to get his powers back lol :)

qt.jen October 22, 2008 at 3:59 pm

I’m thinking that Elle has gone back for Claire to heal Angela. (get her out of the coma) Then they ( along with Sylar ) are going to get Peter. I think it will be easy for Peter to get his powers back, because he has the genetic markers. Maybe with Claire’s blood Peter will automatically regain the ability to absorb powers, because its a part of his genetics.

Pls tell me if this is possible?

insider67 October 23, 2008 at 1:32 am

peter is going to get his powers back….sylar is going to bust into pinehearst and let peter study his brain….giving peter ALL of sylar’s powers

BECAUSE

peter still has the hunger, its not a power its a learned ability

=)

Matej ( Heroes Television) October 23, 2008 at 10:48 am

Hey Insider, is that a fact or your assumption ?

s.k.74 October 23, 2008 at 12:08 pm

OK, here’s what I think, for what it’s worth.

I don’t think that Arthur would have been able to use his power on Angela in one of her precog dreams, it can only be effective in the physical world. Therefore, her seeing Arthur and ending up in a coma must have been Maury Parkman’s doing, right? (Like when he put Molly in a coma in season 2.) The Nightmare Man has trapped Mama Petrelli in her own mind, using his power to control her brain, which is why she can’t move her body or dream the future.

‘The Hunger’ seems to me to be a side effect of Gabriel’s/ Sylar’s POWER to intuitively understand how things work. So Insider67, I don’t agree it is a learned ability – if you could INSTANTLY understand how something works just by studying it for a few seconds, no matter what it is or how complex it may be, I’d say that counts as a POWER, wouldn’t you? The Hunger is simply the strong urge to want to understand more i.e. the subconcious desire to feed the conciousness with knowledge. Remember, knowledge is power… also, intuition is based in the subconcious mind, similar to instinct (you could also say that it is empathic, a feeling that something is wrong or right or how it operates… yet another link between Peter and Gabriel/Sylar!)

My point is… absorb Sylar’s Intuitive Aptitude, and you also absorb The Hunger. So IF Papa Petrelli absorbed I.A. from Peter, he also has The Hunger (obviously). BUT… It seems that I.A. is a tricky power to detect… Chandra Suresh couldn’t exactly tell what Gabriel’s power was (when he was Patient Zero, before he dubbed himself Sylar and took Telekinesis from… was it Brian Davis?), HRG and co couldn’t detect it when they caught Sylar the first time, and Peter has only just been ‘allowed’ to absorb it coz Future Gabriel let him…

It seems that I.A. is a power that can’t just be taken, it has to be given, if you get what I mean. So maybe Peter still has I.A. – and the Hunger – while Arthur stole everything else? Could this be why Future Peter told him to get it? It could be the only ability that Arthur cannot leech unless Peter knowingly wants him to. Which would mean that Peter isn’t down for the count yet! Hmmm…

Let me know what y’all think of this theory – I know it sounds a bit out there, but HEY! Anything is possible, no?

(I also think that Arthur has taken Peter’s mimicry power – so now he should be able to mimic powers of people in his vicinity… AND steal them away permanently! That makes him one SERIOUSLY dangerous mofu! Along with regeneration, telepathy/ mind control, space/time manipulation, etc etc etc.. THIS GUY IS NOW A ONE MAN ARMY!!! He doesn’t really NEED anyone else. Except to mimic/ absorb more powers from!)

Sorry for the long post, but before I go I gotta say… It looks like Arthur Petrelli is the Daddy of all Villians (in more ways than one!)

PEACE!

Matej ( Heroes Television) October 23, 2008 at 11:15 pm

nice one s.k.74!

Akkarin October 24, 2008 at 5:38 pm

PETER NEEDS HIS POWERS!! he had like the scond generation of dadys power, no phyiscal contact required, no lasting damage, and if his dad now has all abilities, he sitll has to figure out how to use them dont he, so he still in the no on ho w to use, but peter could just get clairs blood(as some of u have said) and repiared his genetics, giving him his old powers, and then he could steal the the villians ones, and beat everyone up:P i thin k season 4, will be the best, i think fugitives will be that the villians r defeated, and the goodies r now hunting them down, go PETER!¬ syalr is kl as well, but if he could get rid of the hunger, he would be like a wiked version of peter

Mihajlo October 25, 2008 at 12:09 am

Maybe the fugitives are the good guys. Villains got very powerful and are hunting heroes down

I don’t think writer will go that way but it’s just a theory :D

Joe October 25, 2008 at 4:34 am

When a guy can stop time and travel back into the past you would think he would just go back and stop himself from opening the vault. I get so frustrated with Hiro. In short the guys a moron.

Peter will get his powers back. What I want to know is how are they connecting season 2, did it just fall off the map!? Peter left that girl in that future lol. No sign of the copy cat girl. niki and Tracy are the only stuff we’ve seen.

and funny why can’t they just give cheerleader blood to Suresh and heal him of his mutation/powers…..

Mihajlo October 27, 2008 at 10:08 am

Mohinder can’t heal with Claire’s blood because the ability is not an illness. Dough I wonder if Claire’s blood cures AIDS or something else :)

Reilsel_0617 October 31, 2008 at 5:51 am

well if Hiro stopped himself from opening the vault then there would be no season 3 for Heroes. LOL.

I have to agree with s.k. 74 about peter still acquiring gabriel’s I.A. Because if his father could leech Peter’s I.A. then he would have done the same to Gabriel.

Maybe Arthur Petrelli can’t absorb abilities that were learned instead of ablities that were acquired like Peter’s powers.

The conflict in this theory is that in order for Peter to learn an ability he needs to kill and study a person’s brain which would make him the new Sylar.

I dunno, maybe Claire is generous enough to let his uncle study her brain.
