Heroes Episode 3×01 “A Second Coming” just premiered at Comic Con. Bellow you can read full episode summary so make sure you think twice before your read it.

New Summary With More Details

  • We open four years in the future, with the oft-talked about scene where Future Claire aims a gun at Future Peter and pulls the trigger. Well of course you can’t kill a guy who can stop time. Future Peter does just that and disappears into the past, where …
  • Future Peter shoots Nathan at the press conference, as seen at the end of “Powerless” in Season 2. His reasons: to stop Nathan from revealing the existence of super-powered people. After shooting Nathan, Future Peter assumes the identity of Present Peter. [We later find out where Present Peter has been keeping himself throughout all this.] Future Peter’s ploy doesn’t fool Matt Parkman, who can read his mind. Unfortunately for Matt, Future Peter teleports him to the desert seen in the promos. As it turns out, it’s more a question of when then where Matt has been teleported. [It is hinted at, I believe, that Matt has been transported back in time. Way, way back in time.] Mama Petrelli later shows up at the hospital where Nathan is being kept, and presumably through the use of her powers, knows that Peter is not Peter.
  • Where is HRG? In a Company prison cell. Also, that fat guy who claims to be Peter Petrelli that we’ve previously talked about, in the cell next to HRG’s? I think he might just be Peter after all. After all, where has Present Peter been kept while Future Peter is out there assuming his identity?
  • Maya goes to Mohinder for help. He takes a sample of her blood and seems to discover that powers are not genetic, and can in fact be transferred from person to person, basically power on demand, in a syringe. At the end of the premiere, Mohinder injects himself with the power, and becomes super strong. [The Comic Con episode ends here, with a "To be Continued..."] [Newsarama clears this part up a bit: Mohinder discovers that the powers come from the adrenal glands, and are activated by bursts of adrenaline.]
  • So what’s up with Nathan? Well, he was shot, then he survived. How? Who knows. He just wakes up in the hospital and heads to a church, where he claims to have been given a sign from God. It appears Nathan now believes he is an angel, sent to do good things. Is this why Future Peter shot him? How was Nathan revived? Later, Linderman, alive and well, shows up at the hospital and tells the Petrelli Brothers that they are destined for great things.
  • As for Claire and Sylar, it’s “When a Stranger Calls” remake, apparently, as Sylar goes to Claire’s house for her powers. They fight. She stabs him. He of course doesn’t die. Eventually, Sylar captures her, and slices her head open. LITERALLY. He then steals her powers by studying her brain. LITERALLY AGAIN! After taking her invulnerability power, he tells her that she can’t die, and indeed, when he replaces the top of her skull (Holy crap!), she heals. (Sylar tells Claire, “You can never die, Claire, and now neither can I.”)
  • So what’s Ando and Hiro been up to? Apparently becoming boss of his father’s empire has made Hiro’s life very dull. He longs to be a hero again. He’s in luck. A lawyer arrives with a videotape from his deceased father telling him that he must safeguard a piece of paper containing some formula that holds the lives of half the world’s population at stake. The paper is inside a safe, where Hiro, unable to stop himself, takes a peek at it. Oops! Daphne, the speedster, shows up and steals the paper! Instead of using his time powers to go back in time to stop her, he decides to go into the future to see the damage losing the paper has cause. Here, Hiro witnesses an argument between Future Ando and Future Hiro, apparently over the missing formula. And get this — Ando apparently uses a superpower (described as bolts of electricity!) to blast Hiro!
  • Some notes: Nikki (now going by Tracy Strauss, perhaps?) is alive and well, and is mistress to the New York Governor. Is this Bruce Boxleitner’s character? Possibly. [Newsrama confirms that the Governor is indeed Bruce Boxleitner, but it's not made clear if Nikki/Tracy is married to him, or his mistress.]
  • There are no appearances by the New Orleans brood.

Marcus Heroes Junkie July 26, 2008 at 10:42 pm

wow, that’s Sylar’s bit of goodness for this season, that’s why claire doesn’t mind sylar in the car, I hope we get to see sylar vs peter, I can’t understand what happened to present peter when future peter transformed into him??? Can’t wait for 28th September

nathan July 26, 2008 at 10:49 pm

Im so glad i could make sense of all of that :/

john darc July 27, 2008 at 3:18 am

Brain hurt. Too much stupidity and plot holes and fail.

Brandon Mathewson July 27, 2008 at 3:29 am

I can’t beleave Sylar took Claude’s ability

Puck July 27, 2008 at 4:24 am

Could be real stuff, but we’ll have to wait and see.

The bit about sylar doing… unelective surgery on claire and seeing how her power works ( part of her brain that’s “broken” according to him) sounds plausible. After all this is heroes we’re talking about….. Then again, we don’t know if claire survives sylar’s examination in the dark future (season 1, ep 20), so it seems real plausible.

A well placed shotgun blast can still take care of them. The source of the powers is in the brain.

Maybe this formula mohinder develops works on portions of the brain. For instance, maybe it’s designed to overstimulate portions of the brain and thus cause the user to manifest a EHA(Evolved Human Ability).

Matt Parkman’s ability is caused by a overstimulation of the part of the brain responsible for hearing, so which why he can actually “hear” thoughts, as opposed to being able to actually “see” thoughts.

Interesting….

no more needs to be said

Saku July 27, 2008 at 7:43 pm

Sylar doesn’t took claude ability. Sylar took more abilitys in the episodes that didnt show. Remember that.

One is invisivilty, and other can be Flying. Because when he goes to kill the women with the power of enchanded hearing she said to him, that “SHE DIDN’T HEAR YOUR STEPS” and Sylar Tells something like HE NEVER STEP THE FLOOR.

Matej ( Heroes Television) July 27, 2008 at 8:37 pm

Tarot July 28, 2008 at 2:03 am

I wanna know how Sylar can be “invisible”… Claude is still alive…. and last time I checked Claude didn’t have accelerated healing like Claire or Adam… we’d have seen when Bennet shot him on the bridge. Claude would have healed before he vanished.

Brandon Mathewson July 28, 2008 at 5:58 am

Sylar doesn’t need flight 2 not touch the the ground because he has telekinesis, which means he can most likely lift his own body through the air.

Rich July 28, 2008 at 11:07 am

this season sounds like its gonna be awesome, does anyone know if there is a video posted of this anywhere?

gk July 28, 2008 at 1:52 pm

Sounds enthralling. Can’t wait for it!

Where is Matt gone to? Or rather in what year is he now?

heroesultrafan July 28, 2008 at 3:47 pm

Ando with a super power? That’s very weird. So…does this mean that Future Pete is in the body of Present Pete and Present Pete is in the body of some big bald guy? Someone answer me please? :)

Julian July 29, 2008 at 8:38 am

Thanks god.
Matt`s back.
I thought Episode One supposed to be called “The Butterfly Effect”?

Alex July 29, 2008 at 9:15 am

Where’s Adam?

Everyone seems to have forgotten about him because there has been no spoilers and news of him at al

He’s not going to stay buried, is he?

Alex July 29, 2008 at 9:16 am

What about Adam?

Everyone seems to have forgotten about him because there has been no spoilers or news about him.

He’s not going to stay buried, is he?

Tarot July 29, 2008 at 12:22 pm

Alex, I’ve heard Adam is supposed to get freed at some point but I don’t know when. While Adam is interesting, I really want some good news about Claude!

Matej ( Heroes Television) July 29, 2008 at 1:06 pm

His new bride is supposed to save him you can read here some of it : http://www.heroestelevision.com/heroes-spoilers-kenseis-blood-is-not-permanent/

vanecher July 29, 2008 at 7:42 pm

Mohinder is getting a power now, I didn’t want him to get a power. Now it seems every star on the show is going to have a power and I wanted him to be the normal one. I hope adam comes back too even though I don’t really like him that much but he has the potential to be a badass, although he is now but he can still be badasser.

Tarot July 30, 2008 at 1:26 am

Brandon Mathewson , if Sylar has invisibility, he didn’t get it from Claude.

Brandon Moran July 30, 2008 at 3:32 am

DUDES!!!! You all seem to forget that Sylar has three other abilities that have yet to be revealed. Remember Mohinder saying that he killed 6 people on the list prior to Zane Taylor. And remember the pictures the Noah “HRG” Bennet show to Eden of Sylar’s victims and a few of them you never seen before. so theres a 23% chance that Sylar has a Levitation (not Flight) ability and a 77% chance that hes just using Telekinesis to lift him self up.

Ams July 30, 2008 at 4:17 am

…if Mohinder gets powers, I’m going to cry.

And oh god, the Sylaire fans are going to have a collective fangasm. @_@;

Cristian July 30, 2008 at 12:21 pm

can’t wait :D :D this season is gonna be the best yet, has anyone got footage of it.

Cristian July 30, 2008 at 12:37 pm

so this is what happens.

I’m so glad claire doesn’t die, she’s one of my favorite, i didn’t believe sylar could do any goodness but i’ve been proved wrong.

i already like the plot of this first episode, im gonna love season 3

Steven July 30, 2008 at 4:24 pm

About Sylar and the invisibility thing, could it be plausable that he got enough of the illusion ability from his prior captor but wasn’t able to actually put it to use because of the virus? If I recall correctly, he did try to take her power but it didn’t work…. at the time.

Julian July 31, 2008 at 6:33 am

Hey guys…The episode 1 title is changed?

Matej ( Heroes Television) July 31, 2008 at 11:21 am

No, that’s just the first hour of season premiere, second part is called “The Butterfly Effect”….

Season premiere is a two-hour Heroes film, we have seen (only lucky ones) only the first part….

gk July 31, 2008 at 12:04 pm

hey matej!…

when will you tell us about the 2nd part?

Matej ( Heroes Television) July 31, 2008 at 12:20 pm

Hey, I don’t know, 2nd part was not showed, only the 1st was…

All (mostly) spoilers I know – I post them on here

Make sure you check all previous spoilers I have posted http://www.heroestelevision.com/category/spoilers/ , it’s a huge collection

Matej ( Heroes Television) July 31, 2008 at 12:39 pm

SORRY GUYS/GIRLS

“The Second Coming”, formerly called “The Butterfly Effect”.
Scheduled to premiere with a 2-hour block on September 22 of this year (after a one-hour special episode to help viewers catch up to what’s happened previously)

So it means, EPISODE 1 TITLE WAS REALLY CHANGED… It’s really confusing because some sites say that it was changed, some say that it wasn’t …

dave August 1, 2008 at 12:06 pm

if this is the first epsiode i cant even begin to imagine where thety are going to take us this season. so sylar doesn’t eat brains… ando can now be spcial and stand up to hero. linderman is back what..i want more. now sylar can heal he can have a fiar fight with Peter. They have to give us a sylar peter BIG fight. this season is crazy. we need a flashback of how the older generation all interacted with eachother. Now sylar is immortal his motives may change. i can now see him being semi good from time to time and forming alliances with other villains rather tha just kill them. he doesn’t want to be alone forever. he will relaise like adam years back that he needs followers.

Sylo August 2, 2008 at 5:57 pm

Wow, maybe Mohinder did have a special ability all long, like his sister did. Maybe by injecting more adrenaline in his body, he was able to activate his powers. Maybe the powers do come from specific genetic codes but then activated by bursts of adrenaline.

Utlonghorn August 6, 2008 at 12:14 am

How can you people be excited about this unimaginative drivel. one maybe two more seasons and this show is dead.

dimefan90 August 6, 2008 at 3:40 pm

thats all i need.

Will August 6, 2008 at 10:28 pm

adrenaline??….eh i know the first episode was shot before the movie Wanted came out but still. Am i crazy for seeing the similarities.

So Sylar just studies the brain huh? then they’d better not create a plothole and leave out what he actually did with those brains he studied before since they were all missing.

Jade August 7, 2008 at 7:46 pm

OH MY GOSH

Wow

i cant wait to see it

Heroes ROCKS!!

I love the part about were sylar examines the brain

Michael August 9, 2008 at 9:43 am

I Don’t see why people are shocked about Ando having a super power Mohinder said powers can be transferred from person to person, Ando is like a mole on Hiro that never goes away (for lack of a better analogy) and just because Claude is the only known hero with the invisibility ability doesn’t mean someone else doesn’t have it. And i think a few of you may be forgetting the extra Sylar footage taken at the start of the writers strike before he ran off to play Spock.

43 Days 23 hours 16 minutes and 15 seconds till Heroes Comes back

WOO CANT WAIT

Tarot August 9, 2008 at 12:24 pm

If Sylar has actual invisibility, he didn’t get it from Claude. Sylar was pulling disappearing acts when we knew Claude was alive and well. SO whatever this power is, Sylar got it elsewhere. Oh and I miss Claude :(

MKG August 10, 2008 at 9:46 pm

Wow what a spoiler!! a did anyone see the first 15 mins of episode one on youtube the picture maybe bad but you can still see what happen in the episode before September 22 checkout yo.

OmniKibou August 11, 2008 at 12:07 am

“a 77% chance that hes just using Telekinesis to lift him self up.” (Brandon Moran)

Most likely i’d say 100%. With the ability of telekinesis one can “move” things with their mind. Telekinesis isn’t a limited ability, if a person can move others with their mind, why not themself?

i’ve come up with something about Sylar – How he always gets away with death.
Since he knows how things work, it could be possible that he telekinetically moves any internal organs before impact – He gets hurt (badly) but can sustain injury just for a brief period of time.

Also, the creators have to go find something new to do with existing powers.

Superstrength – With the amount of strength in the body, a person can use their “legs” to push themselves up to perform a “high jump”.

Technopathy – With that ability, to know how technology works and to communicate with it, you’d think that Micah (A child prodigy) would build something like a “death ray” xD

I look forward to this season. Let’s hope it won’t be a disappointment.

aaron August 11, 2008 at 12:12 pm

in session 1 epesode ”five years gone” wen hiro and ando go five years in future do u ever think we can watch that fight betwen sylar and peter in a later episode?
