Heroes Episode 3×01 “A Second Coming” just premiered at Comic Con. Bellow you can read full episode summary so make sure you think twice before your read it.

New Summary With More Details

  • We open four years in the future, with the oft-talked about scene where Future Claire aims a gun at Future Peter and pulls the trigger. Well of course you can’t kill a guy who can stop time. Future Peter does just that and disappears into the past, where …
  • Future Peter shoots Nathan at the press conference, as seen at the end of “Powerless” in Season 2. His reasons: to stop Nathan from revealing the existence of super-powered people. After shooting Nathan, Future Peter assumes the identity of Present Peter. [We later find out where Present Peter has been keeping himself throughout all this.] Future Peter’s ploy doesn’t fool Matt Parkman, who can read his mind. Unfortunately for Matt, Future Peter teleports him to the desert seen in the promos. As it turns out, it’s more a question of when then where Matt has been teleported. [It is hinted at, I believe, that Matt has been transported back in time. Way, way back in time.] Mama Petrelli later shows up at the hospital where Nathan is being kept, and presumably through the use of her powers, knows that Peter is not Peter.
  • Where is HRG? In a Company prison cell. Also, that fat guy who claims to be Peter Petrelli that we’ve previously talked about, in the cell next to HRG’s? I think he might just be Peter after all. After all, where has Present Peter been kept while Future Peter is out there assuming his identity?
  • Maya goes to Mohinder for help. He takes a sample of her blood and seems to discover that powers are not genetic, and can in fact be transferred from person to person, basically power on demand, in a syringe. At the end of the premiere, Mohinder injects himself with the power, and becomes super strong. [The Comic Con episode ends here, with a "To be Continued..."] [Newsarama clears this part up a bit: Mohinder discovers that the powers come from the adrenal glands, and are activated by bursts of adrenaline.]
  • So what’s up with Nathan? Well, he was shot, then he survived. How? Who knows. He just wakes up in the hospital and heads to a church, where he claims to have been given a sign from God. It appears Nathan now believes he is an angel, sent to do good things. Is this why Future Peter shot him? How was Nathan revived? Later, Linderman, alive and well, shows up at the hospital and tells the Petrelli Brothers that they are destined for great things.
  • As for Claire and Sylar, it’s “When a Stranger Calls” remake, apparently, as Sylar goes to Claire’s house for her powers. They fight. She stabs him. He of course doesn’t die. Eventually, Sylar captures her, and slices her head open. LITERALLY. He then steals her powers by studying her brain. LITERALLY AGAIN! After taking her invulnerability power, he tells her that she can’t die, and indeed, when he replaces the top of her skull (Holy crap!), she heals. (Sylar tells Claire, “You can never die, Claire, and now neither can I.”)
  • So what’s Ando and Hiro been up to? Apparently becoming boss of his father’s empire has made Hiro’s life very dull. He longs to be a hero again. He’s in luck. A lawyer arrives with a videotape from his deceased father telling him that he must safeguard a piece of paper containing some formula that holds the lives of half the world’s population at stake. The paper is inside a safe, where Hiro, unable to stop himself, takes a peek at it. Oops! Daphne, the speedster, shows up and steals the paper! Instead of using his time powers to go back in time to stop her, he decides to go into the future to see the damage losing the paper has cause. Here, Hiro witnesses an argument between Future Ando and Future Hiro, apparently over the missing formula. And get this — Ando apparently uses a superpower (described as bolts of electricity!) to blast Hiro!
  • Some notes: Nikki (now going by Tracy Strauss, perhaps?) is alive and well, and is mistress to the New York Governor. Is this Bruce Boxleitner’s character? Possibly. [Newsrama confirms that the Governor is indeed Bruce Boxleitner, but it's not made clear if Nikki/Tracy is married to him, or his mistress.]
  • There are no appearances by the New Orleans brood.

I think Niki is the one who frees Adam from the coffin thats lyin in Japan next to Kaito Nakamura’s grave. Niki manages to escape the explosion building & the New York Governor finds out about this & he tells Niki a big secret about how she’s connected to Adam Monroe / Kensei. Bruce Boxleitner tells Niki the whereabouts of Adam. She then frees Adam & the two of them then heads to Primatech as I have seen a promo pic of volume 3 ”Villains” of Niki, Adam, Knox & Maury together somewhere inside Primatech. U can see it at http://spoilertv-heroes.blogspot.com/

Sylar who is my fave villain & character. I think one of the 6 people that he killed from Chandra Suresh’s LIST, one of them had the Levitation power which will explain how Dale Smither didn’t hear Sylar’s footsteps. I wud love if Sylar hooked up with Adam Monroe next season. I also think he is now very protective of Claire, why cos she is part of the Petrelli family. Angela Petrelli tells Sylar that he was once adopted & he was hidin with his foster dad; Arthur Petrelli.

Here is a better picture of Adam, Niki, Maury, and Knox together.

This was also used in the very beginning of the Alternate Ending in Season two, so I am not positive it is going to be used in the future episodes.

herogirl August 22, 2008 at 7:27 am

things are sooo getting interesting!!! claire, elle and peter (hottie dude, will be his super hero name) are my fave characters, if all 3 of these go… I GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bobski August 24, 2008 at 7:31 pm

Why so few episodes for this season? Has LOST ruined what has already become a shorter and shorter season all around? Remember when series had 24-25 episodes a season? Now were down to 13 for Heroes… Or is there a chance they will be green lit for more for this year? I want my sci fi escapism!!!

Atredes August 24, 2008 at 8:42 pm

It has been announced that there will be a Volume 4 that will round out the season, with I think 11 more episodes.

**SPOILERS***

Name of the Volume is Fugitive

**End of Spoilers

heroesultrafan August 25, 2008 at 1:37 pm

Bobski, it isn’t only 13 episodes its 25. The whole of third season will be 25 episodes, and the first 13 episodes will be titled as Volume 3 “Villains”. The last 12 episodes will be titled as Volume 4 “Fugitives”. Its 2 volumes in one season.

Maybe Matej should post this.

good god. i have restored faith in TV becouse of heroes. life feels meaningfull again. the strike almost made people kill them selves becouse of no hope for an ending. i would go insane if heroes doesent end. i bought all the seseons.

nathan mohamed September 6, 2008 at 2:24 am

I LOVE HEAROES. if you r noty watching heroes then ur missing out on the greatest tv show made. before this in the good old days we had manimal, night hawk, automan and last but not least HIGHWAYMAN. that was like 20 years ago and in that time they never mad A single tv show that made people like me watch tv again with a passion. i never paid for movies or tv shows but i bought both seseans even though i could watch them any time on netflix. but i have faith in HEROES. of course am very anxiouse about villans. WATCH HEROES DOGNAMET.

Matej ( Heroes Television) September 8, 2008 at 10:55 pm

Mohinder will soon discover the formula behind everyone’s special abilities, and he’ll manufacture a shot which can give anyone powers. Including himself.

- latest from Kirby

s.k.74 September 8, 2008 at 11:47 pm

w’sup nathan mohamed! Man, you just mentioned some of the best retro tv shows from yesteryear (although I think you mean STREET Hawk, don’t you… like Knight Rider but with the motorcycle? And how could you forget Airwolf?? And Blue Thunder??? I VAGUELY remember Highwayman, but Manimal was baaaaaaaaad… meaning good! Not many people of my age seem to remember it though… which is odd. I can only think that The Haitian must have got to them!).

But to neatly end my comment… since this is a HEROES discussion page… The Blue Thunder movie – as opposed to the TV series – had none other than Malcolm McDowell (Linderman) starring in it! Of course, he played the bad guy…

(WOW! SOMEBODY OUT THERE REMEMBERS MANIMAL! SO I DIDN’T IMAGINE THE 80’s THEN!!!) lol

*** …and now back to the Heroes Universe…***

There are so many awful plot holes here it’s terrible. I used to like this show, but it’s now as if it was written by every other shitty writer on NBC. This is pure garbage. I cannot honestly like something this terrible. My viewership is now exclusively with Showtime and Fox, sorry NBC, you don’t have a single good drama left.

Freya September 21, 2008 at 2:26 am

This show is going crazy. Everyone is going to have power – genetic & non-genetic!?!

Well, although as much as many others, I don’t want Mohinder to have any power but he could barely protect himself. If I was to give Mohinder any power, I would give him Teleporting and Invincibility to get away from Sylar and all of those who want to bother him with the formula. I truly think that anyone can change, even Peter, from good to evil but I believe in Mohinder.

I don’t like the idea of reviving. It makes everything more complicated. First, Sylar and now Linderman? I have no idea what Linderman is after now but I don’t like twisted characters and he is one of them.

Sylar stole Claire’s power. That’s going to make it more difficult to blow up his brain. Good luck, Peter! (Or anyone else who wanna try!)

I’m starting to dislike this show…

gk September 21, 2008 at 6:38 am

hi,

the show sounds interesting& complicated also. but i share in the excitement. you guys in the U.S are so lucky , it starts tomorrow. there.
how can i get to view it, (apart from waiting months or even a year for our stations to air the show)? i am in south africa?
enjoy it!

GUAMSOLDIER September 23, 2008 at 6:50 pm

hey whatever happened to that girl that could send messages through sattalites and stuff, when she met Ted and Matt, the all black leather suit, i don’t remember

Ed September 25, 2008 at 7:22 am

One way to kill Sylar – Suppressed barrett .50 cal to the head.

Rian September 30, 2008 at 7:19 pm

the only reason sylar didnt kill claire was because it would be kinda pointless as all someone would have to do would stick the top of her head back on and if the powers are transfered by blood claires father has a power now too

I love season 3 but somebody tell me why does Peter get more and more stupid as the show progresses? is he Heroe’s Clark Kent from Smallville? I mean the mistakes he’s made since season 2: not telepathically reading Adam’s mind to see his true intentions and frying Hiro instead, taking 20 minutes to open the bank vault telekinetically instead of just phasing through it, his future self teleported back in time to ”fix” things only to make things worse and now leaving his guard down in front of daddy, who’s surrounded by mass murderers and people that wanted him dead either now or in the future. I know every show has to have a village idiot, but Hiro’s enough.

Simon Traversy October 24, 2008 at 6:53 am

regarding this week’s hottest topic: no not Madonna’s divorce, not the beginning of the world series, no not a world summit to discuss the possible upcoming recession, I mena Peter losing his abilities. I mean I give props to Tim kRING and his fellowship of the pen. They wanted to get us talking worried, literally craving for the following episode, well now they have it. Like every normal fan, watching Peter (idiot or not) lose his powers annoyed me like a splinter at the roof of my mouth annoys me. But just like some fans mentionned, maybe being powerless for a while will give him a purpose again, less whinny and more driven. and for those who are worried: OF COURSE HE WILL GET HIS POWERS BACK. By coming back in the past, his future self unintentionally initiated a series of events that will lead to the future he was trying to change, which is called: predestination paradox (the terminator movies and TV series are a good example of that). That being said, future Peter has the same powers or more as present Peter: then it means that at some point present Peter will get his abilities back. In the mean time he will get that new trademark scar on his face otherwise how could he have gotten it if he had his abilites? Unless he was fighting somebody near the Haitian or Haitian himself, it’d prove that at some point Peter lost his powers. So he will get his abilites HOW? ang WHEN? That’s another matter. I’d say in 2 or 3 episodes he will get them back the ”how” is probably either Claire’s blood, because like Suresh said in ”5 years gone’ for those who are innate evolved humans, they are a different species and their abilities is hard coded in their DNA. I don’t think daddy will let Peter boy take his abilities back from him so i would assume that either the injection or Claire’s blood will do the trick. Maybe Sylar will open him up to ”toy” with his brain in order to ”fix” him, and by the same means acquiring Peter’s innate and collected abilities, making him officiallly Peter’s equal. I get we’ll just have to keep on watching the series, which precisely what NBC wants us to do ;)

Simon Traversy October 24, 2008 at 6:57 am

*mean…*guess oh and I forgot: Hiro can just teleport back in time and save Peter…but that might create a plot hole
