Last episode of Heroes drew 6.92 million viewers which are the lowest ratings ever. And that was supposed to be one of the best episode of Season 3!
Yes, Heroes had the biggest DVR increase in 2008. among TV Shows and it’s most downloaded TV Show on Torrents every week ( with Lost ) but how much that really matters?
What these ratings are showing us is that the show is not getting any better and TV audience reflects that. If the show ratings continue to drop, there is a chance the show may become unprofitable for network.
Can Heroes get better?
As someone who has never missed the show, I no longer have any confidence at all in the team making it. I like the show, I will continue to watch it but overall I’m disappointed because there’s no real progress.
Did you saw last scene of episode 3×17? What was that? Someone painting the future, in Isaac’s apartment, and seeing a city being blown up …
The guy has been dead for a while. Stop breaking into his old place. Can’t you paint anywhere else? That annoyed me almost more than the actual paintings. Not to mention Matt’s new power …
Meanwhile, Nathan’s entire story continues to make no sense. What the hell he’s doing, why he’s doing it, and how it all came together so fast!
What I’m really looking forward to see is 3×20 episode – “Cold Snap” – written by returning Bryan Fuller. Hope is alive
… i hope
I’m sure that there will be Season 4, but if ratings continue to drop I really doubt that it will be renewed for Season 5 which makes me little

Heroes is officially returning for Season Four
Hey guys! Heroes is going really good!!!!! That’s from my point of view! But in my website there is some stuff you can do to stop Heroes from canceling! At http://www.lovableladybug.blogspot.com, comment if you’re going to do something on my list! And comment on my page!
Personally, I think that if the writing is left to the fans, the ratings are going to go waaaaaay up. I do not know what the writers are thinking, but i think they forgot what made the first season so great. The story, the suspension and above all, the characters, together combined in perfect synergy. I personally liked the fact that the characters themselves never changed, only the situation that they were in, and they acted accordingly- sometimes like villains and sometimes like heroes.
They should have continued heroes with a story explaining why the company needs to exist, why they did what they do. That there really was a morally grey area that allowed the Company to exist. They did this in the third season, but I think that they didn’t fully capitalized on it.
In any case, the dialogue has improved a bit (i’m still trying to forget the nightmare of Villains) but the story hasn’t. Serously, get some devoted fans to help you, Heroes writers. You know its best for the show.
Come on, now Double Dealer. If the writing is left to the “fans’, the show would be incomprehensible. Do you have any concept of how to write a teleplay, of what is required? Of COURSE the characters changed in Season 1. You don’t think HRG and Parkman and Hiro changed?
Just keep watching. The last few episodes have been outstanding.
eb, if your idea of writing left to the fans means for fans to symply send in their suggestions, ideas and amateur scripts, then the show would truly be incomprehensible. What I am saying is for the writers to listen to the fans a great deal, because many of the fans have far better ideas than those of the writers, ideas that would give great episodes as well as great seasons. And not just mere storytelling, but also character growth.
As to my first season comment, i will go as far as to say that there were small changes, and only in certain characters. Most of the time either there wasn’t character growth, or a character growth in a form of a circle- characters entered into a conflict only to return to their starting points. This does give us character growth, but essentially, the characters don’t change, they are simply reaffirmed.
For example: HRG’s priority was his daughter, not the company. There was a plot when the 2 came into conflict. Or Sylar, where we were shown that the wasn’t always a killer, only to revert to his normal state of murderous psychopath. No character growth maybe too harsh of a term, but the more appropriate term would be small, but crucial and focused, which fits perfectly in the story. Again, character growth is not what made the show great. IT’S EVERYTHING!!!
