Last night Heroes had 7.04 million viewers which is slightly better than last weeks 6.92.
Heroes keeps getting worse ( objectively ) and not better. In my opinion last 2 episodes were crap ( says the fan … ) .
When I say objectively I mean that most people around popular TV Show / sci fi sites are thinking that way.
Some of the main characters like Peter, Hiro and Claire ( especially her ) ended up to be totally useless in Volume 4. I don’t feel connected with characters.
The writers don’t have the courage to kill off any of their characters. Because the writers and the actors have gotten chummy with one another or because there’s some really important plot for each one of them? Why Ali Larter is still in the show ?
Ok, good news, Heroes will be renewed for Season 4 says Greg Grunberg.
As many of you already know, greg grunberg confirmed via Twitter that there will be Season 4:
“Winding down shooting Season 3 Heroes,” he posted on Twitter.com on Sunday. “Tough to say goodbye to crew not knowing if any or all of us will return next year.”
“Don’t get me wrong, Heroes is coming back next year, but some crew take other jobs, so it’s tough.”
Am I to pessimistic? One thing’s sure, I’ll continue to watch the show ( because I want to not because I have this site

I dont get it. I think the trendy thing to do is bash the show, but this is easily the best run the show’s been on since season 1. Can anyone tell me all these awesome stuff that’s happening was worse than the virus chase in season 2, or all the time travel in volume 3?
I actutally completely disagree with the assertion that the last two episodes were “crap.” While I was frustrated at the beginning of season 3 (volume 3) with characters losing their powers, overuse of time traveling, and overcomplicated genality plots, volume 4 has actually, in my mind, really resolidified my interest in Heroes.
I agree right now that Hiro’s contributions seem pretty useless, but he hasn’t really had much of a plotline this volume since he no longer has his powers. But Claire and Peter useless? How? Because they haven’t had immediate success with their endeavors? They are both in very difficult positions and doing the best that they can – Peter did get the files about Nathan’s organization to the media and Claire (with help from Sandra) did get Alex to safety.
I still wish Peter would get his original power back; however, right now the drama with the Nathan, Peter, Matt, and the Hunter is keeping me on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait to see how that power dynamic will work itself out
the show is not getting worse. that is not an objective opinion. people talk about “it’s not like season 1″ off course its not going to be because the show has to be evolved. everytime they try to revisit season 1 formula’s, all i hear is complaint. “why isaac’s house” “why keep on painting” “how come they aren’t fighting anyone” “i don’t really know whats going on” these are all season 1 formulas that you guys got tired of. i think volume for is really good…it started off with a bang, now its trying to develop something awesome. if you guys don’t like matt, then don’t…but i thought it was better than always having claire or peter involved. how about helping out the puppet guy? these are all great things. i think you guys read too many spoilers…it hurts your enjoyement. wish nbc would at least do 10 seasons. our monday night heroes party is up to 8 people now. sad if it had to end

Ali is still on the show because she is a great actress who has just been given bad storylines from the writers… but thats all about to change when Bryan Fuller returns hopefully.
I agree that Cold Wars was pretty bad, but i still watched it and enjoyed the development in the stories. I really liked Trust and Blood, and Exposed was not half bad.

The show is DEFINITELY getting better. They need to go easy with all the backstories and just get to the action. There’s no back story that needs a whole show to tell. Stop stalling for time and trying to milk it. Do like LOST, set a date to depart, and fill in the blanks in that time.
I noticed that last episode “Exposed” was more exciting than the last one, and I thought that Heroes will be getting back its spice…especially now that the government’s actions are known publicly! Can’t wait….
i already know about season 4 but thanks for keeping me posted and definately about the ratings i wish heroes gets back on top as it and prison break are my #1 shows i luv em to bits XD also as for…

well heroes this season has been quite sad. the story lines are good but the writeres don’t seem to know waht to do with them. it is too bad thy had to shorten season2 because it had so much potential and the writer’s ruined it. shame on them with the money they make they need their heads examined.
Well the exposed episode was better than cold wars in my opinion. I am looking forward to cold snap and seeing the full potential of Tracys power. I truely do miss Peter’s old powers though and wondering what ability he would get next made it more fun to watch.
The last few episodes sucked. There needs to be more Hiro and he needs his powers back already. Peter’s story line sucks imo.

I actually really enjoyed the last 2 episodes. Granted we have yet more questions, but hopefully most of them will be answered soon. I’d love to know how Doyle survived for starters. I’m glad to see the ratings improve but I’d be happier if the numbers were higher.
Id like to know is Sylar took the metal mimicry power or if he just cut the guys arm off.
it’s not a dumb idea to give peter a dumbed-down version of his power. He was one of the only people to get the formula, and it was far from perfection. There are always shortcuts to take. and besides, this makes peter much less powerful, and thus, it makes the show much less predictable…
P.S. the show is getting way better! this is pretty close to as awesome as season 1, and is becoming as interesting too. I was wondering when the government was gonna get involved…

Heroes started off an amazing show and has defiently had a great few seasons. This season though – the premiere was awesome, but the next few episodes havent been as good. I think they’ve put some pretty dumb plotlines in – Sylar looking for his father, great, but adding Luke in there? Not so great. And expanding Matt’s power so he became a “prophet”? Not the smartest move. I think Heroes can get better (cause I’m a very loyal fan
), but really think about their storylines better, instead of making things that are really pointless plot filling devices.

I think REBEL is Micah because he hasnt shown his face and has only contacted the herores thru electronic devices and in COLD SNAP tracy is supposed to lead noah and the hunter to REBEL
Peter, Hiro and Claire all have “a role to play in the story”. The Writers aren’t forgetting them or not using them to their full potential. But think about it. Season 1 had Claire, Hiro and Peter playing KEY Roles. Claire, Peter and Hiro played key roles in Season 2 as well, plus the first half of Season 3. They still have their parts to play ie Hiro trying to be a hero without relying on his powers, Peter having become disconnected and less empathetic and needing to rediscover that to get back to the way he was, Claire working as an “agent” to Rebel helping Alex and now Doyle….
I’m most looking forward to Ali Larter’s triumphant return to the front lines of the story!
Here’s hoping Monica and Micah aren’t far behind. I loved those 3 Actors together……Specially when Niki and Micah fought that thug to save Monica

Matt Jr. is in my opinion a useless callback to Season 1 and the most “unimpressive” story they could give Matt who just found new love with Daphne and now they’re dragging Janice back into the picture 2 years later :S
I may change my mind when i see the kids but I would think Matt using his powers in a darker manner and having a more vengeful attitude towards Nathan and the Goverment along with his working on getting Daphne back is enough a storyline. Plus he’s a prophet now. Give the guy a break :S

There’s more to Peter’s new ability than what we know, I can feel it. I just think they made a nod to season 1 and gave him another learning curve: how to call upon past abilities, maybe not. About five eps. to go

Man, today i realise that there are too many people who just get a kick out of bashing this show. I go to all these sites and read all of your comments, and if you guys just track what people are saying you’ll realise how utterly confused they truly are.
Let me be honest, i thought volume 3 was the worst piece of writing i have ever witnessed on tv, from blatant plot holes to people behaving totally out of character, i think it did far more damage to this show than season 2… which by the way didn’t deviate from what we knew, it was just frikkin boring.
however, volume 4 has surprised me and turned out to be great television. I like this so much that i think this is what season 2 should have been…. youre constantly on the edge of your seat and you CAN’T predict whats going to happen… yeah i also think peter should have his awesome ability back, i too think hiro is kind of useless and yeah i wish they could fit all the characters into one episode… but hey this is tv, not my personal diary and everyone watching the show should accept that we dont write this show… some other freaks do.
Exposed was a MOTHER FLIPPIN GREAT episode. How did anyone not like it ?? Even Claire’s boyfriend is interesting this time unlike flying boy… Peter is actually using his brain, and how flippin awesome was the scene where they took on building 26. I didnt even mind when sylar said mommy, that music was just so cool. Its become unpredictable, who knew matt would be abducted and the bomb scene would come so soon… They’ve done an awesome job so cut these guys some mother flippin slack.
Everything makes sense now, unlike volume 3 where you never found out how nathan healed, or why peter needed sylars power, or why arthur was waiting for his son for a long time ( sylar ) even though he wasn’t his son, etc. why one minute they were creating an army, the other minute there in some bullcrap eclipse.
PLEASE WATCH THIS SHOW NEXT WEEK AND MAKE SURE ALL YOUR FRIENDS DO TOO. IF THIS SHOW GETS CANCELLED ALL OF YOU WHO CRITICIZED IT WILL BE GOING DOWN.

@ ash217, that’s what I thought too, but then they showed Peter, Nathan and Angela together, so technically, when Peter fell off the roof after they shot him, Nathan is the one who flew him back up…he saved him…and LATER, Peter took the power of flight from Nathan
I’m hoping they have Sylar going ballistic and the Government can’t handle him as he goes after Nathan, the only hero they know can stand up to him is Peter and he needs to recover his true power if he’s going to save them all but the real trick is what or who is going to blow up Washington DC?

thats because peter needed to know how things worked so he can prevent the future and as for arthur it was his plan to play sylar, to persuade him thats why he said those things. also for nathan healing it is because apparently it is future peter who was in disguised as present peter and kissed him and he healed probably due to future peter absorbing a healing power
Heroes is getting way better. I was kind of disappointed at the start of Vol 4. but the last 2 eps. were of the HOOK!!!!!!!!!!! I Love the fact that Peter and Hiro have to think things through cause of their lack of power. I think Luke is doing what he is design to do worry the heck out of Sylar and make him more human and not some robot killing machine.. I’m even starting to like the Bennets cause for a while Claire’s complaining was get boring fast. For me Vol 4 is way better than Vol 3 so far cause in vol 3 they introduced so many new people (villians) wit cool powers and killed them off before they could devolop them………………Long live Heroes!!!!!!!!!! Its better than Survior and Man vs Food:)

Okay, let me just start off by saying I consider myself a Heroes addict. I started watching the show when it first aired, fell in love with it from episode 1 – bought season 1 on DVD and watched it all straight. I ate while watching it, and slept once around episode 12.
Season 2 was amazing. I don’t care what anyone else has to say – everything about that season I was in love with. Hiro and Adam’s story. The introduction of Elle. Sylar seeking to regain his abilities. Angela Petrelli being the mysterious badass that she is. And yes, even Maya and Alejandro. I could’ve done without Wes, but that was only because Zach and Claire will always be one of my favorite couples on the show.
However, much of my love for this show was killed with Volume 3. The entire volume lacked the subtlety and atmosphere that was so prevalent in Volumes 1 and 2, and all the characters appeared flat. It took several episodes for me to start feeling for the characters again – and when I did, I could only enjoy Sylar, Peter, Claire, Matt, Daphne, Elle, Mohinder, Hiro and Ando. Not very many, considering the show consists of such a large multitude of *fantastic* characters. (And I really do mean fantastic)
By the Volume’s end, the characters whose stories I was enjoying had grown again – at this point Arthur and Flint were the only ones I *hated*. But compared to Seasons 1 and 2 (in which I loved every character), it felt rather depressing to admit that I was losing some of my love of the show.
Volume 4 started off with a bang, true. And I really enjoy what’s happening now… however, seeing Peter without his initial ability and hearing that Hiro won’t get his original one back is even more depressing than the plot of “5 Years Gone”. I mean, their abilities may not have defined them, but they are so central to the characters that many fans (myself included) feel it’s like rewriting the character completely, to give them watered down versions of abilities they were born with – what should be as innate to them as their eye color or blood type.
In short, I love Heroes. LOVE it. But I loved season 1 because it was a universal story about how we all aspire to be the heroes we grew up reading about. About how nobody is the same, we all are different and unique. And about how, as Claire put it “the future is not written in stone”.
I loved season 2 because it expanded on the characters and on this concept, bringing in the point that none of us are perfect, and that even those with good intentions may do immeasurable harm if they aren’t careful.
But I can’t stand season 3, because there seems to be no great revelation. No central theme other than “we all have a villain in us”, which only seems to be prevalent in a few episodes. Volume 3 felt like it wanted to be an action movie. And I know it was because fans felt Volume 2 was too slow – but it wasn’t. It paced itself the same as Volume 1. We just never got to see it completed due to the writer’s strike.
And now the characters are so far from where they started it’s hard to believe they’re the same people they were (according to the timeline of the show) 5 months ago, when Season 1 began.
And it feels all too depressing, seeing the characters the way they are now.

Peter should NOT get his original ability back.
Think about it. Peter, and to a lesser extent Sylar, were always the most “broken” characters for a very simple reason: they could acquire potentially infinite abilites. Arthur was also guilty of this, though his relativily short time in the show makes this not a problem.
By the end of Season 2, Peter and Sylar had a stupid number of abilites. That demeans everyone else in the entire show in straight combat, which is the reason why there was so little hero vs hero battles for much of the show. This demeans every other character in the show who’s stuck with just the one ability. Peter, before Arthur stole his powers, had sixteen abilities. Sixteen. That is nowhere near balanced, and it’s not healthy for the show. The writers handled this by resetting Peter to his original state, where he only has access to a limited number of powers and therefore isn’t unbalenced, but can choose to hold onto a particularly useful one at the cost of this versitilty. Seriously, could any of you guys done better? It’s as close to his original ability as they could have gotten. Stop whining and enjoy the way he is.
The whole point in the show was for people to be Heroes! Peter having sixteen abilties made him the ultimate Hero, and without them he isn’t as special. Peter needs to regain all his abilties (possibly even more) in order to be powerfull enough to defeat Sylar, who is the Ultimate Villian.
See, that’s the thing. There shouldn’t BE any “ultimate” anything, hero or villian. Certainly not to the degree Peter was. You’re saying somebody can’t be a hero unless they have multiple powers? That’s obviously not true.
The show isn’t about Peter or Sylar, nor should it be. It’s about all the characters. Why can’t Matt be the one to defeat Sylar? Or Mohinder? Mohinder certainly has far more history with him. Just because you want some uber battle between those two doesn’t mean it should happen. We had that battle back in Season 1. No sense in endlessly dragging it out between the two of them, especially with so many plot devices being re-used by the show lately.
You’re offering no justification for why Peter should get his powers back other then “I want him to be the best and to see him and Sylar battle it out.”

SWM…i agree, and Im gald someone else is sideing with me. In S1 the most common complaint was that peter and hiro could have done this or that and fixed everything, but they where to stupid to do so. Now that they are ‘weaker’ they are finally wising up, which everyone seems happy about, but if we had a wise, all powerfull peter/hiro, then the show would be over, because they could basically do whatever they wanted to whenever they wanted to. And then the complaints would continue!
Exactly. Personality-wise, Peter and Hiro (and even Sylar to a degree), have become more reflective since they were depowered. Peter is obviously much darker now then he was during Season 1, Hiro is much less naive (though after his battles with Sylar in S1 and Adam in S2, that’s to be expected). The more powers a character has, the harder and harder it is to make a convincing plot around them. Also, the writers want to take time travel out of Heroes, which is conclusive proof in itself that Peter will not regain all his old abilties, even if he gets Empathic mimcry back.
I don’t exactly approve of depowering Hiro, though- read my post on the ratings for Cold Wars thread for more info. It’s ok to want time travel out of the show, but I feel it could have been done better.
I think rebel is either Micah for obvious reasons or that lady from like 2 episodes in season 1 Hana Giddlemen. She could also control elctronic devices. Just a theory.
u both are right(matt & swm) bt i guess some ppl jst got too used to seeing peter kick everyone’s ass and hiro/ando teleporting frm one place to another. However, if the same happens to sylar, i will be really sad..except the intended plot line would make up for it. sylar is very interestin to watch and it would be sad to see him lose his powrs.
