What we know about the Pinehearst company…

In the future, Claire, Daphne and Knox work for the Pinehearst company.

  • In the future, Claire wears a Pinehearst pin on her lapel.
  • In the future, Daphne, Knox, Claire, and the Secret Service wear Pinehearst pins on their lapels. Later, President Nathan Petrelli speaks in front of a Pinehearst building.
  • Three years into the future, Daphne and Claire chat at Pinehearst about catching criminals, when an explosion occurs, killing everyone but Claire and Daphne.
  • Stephen Canfield shows Claire a card with the Pinehearst Logo and asks her if she is” one of them”, after she told him, she doesn’t work for The Company. Daphne Millbrook takes direction from a figment of Linderman at the Pinehearst building. Arthur Petrelli resides at the Pinehearst building, bedridden. Maury Parkman visits Arthur while a doctor attends.

Hope well find out more tonight…

What does exactly tittle ” Dying Of The Light ” means? Someones gona die, but who? Meredith by Claire? If you look at IMDB, it seems that Meredith could die…

Arthur killing Adam? Or Parkman’s dad, he also just got out of there …?

What ever Arthur wants goes against what Angela wants and it will destroy the world… does his plan has something to do with “Eclipse” spoiler? ( which says that all Heroes will lose their powers at some time in season 3 )

Maury was afraid of Arthur, right? That just shows Arthur’s powerful, even the Nightmare-man’s ability is still pretty damn scary. But it doesn’t give us a concrete proof of his ability.

Why is he on a bed?According to the images, Adam’s together with Arthur on a room. We can say that Adam helped him recover. Why would he kill him them? What’s his power?

Lena October 20, 2008 at 4:55 pm

I actually thought that “dying of the light” refers to Adams death. Kaito talked about the only hope that could save the world from the formula: “the light”, the purity of blood etc. I read some theories about Adam or Claire beeing the light, so this could fit.

I’m actually always interested in the roots of the episode titles. Sometimes it gives hints to the episode, e.g. “I am become death” -> Oppenheimer, atomic bomb -> Gabriel “goes boom”.
Whatever, I just googled the episode title. There’s a scifi novel by G. R. R. Martin: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dying_of_the_Light
nothing special, but there was a sentence that made me curious:
[...]they find themselves trapped between those who would recognise that the old ways need to be reviewed for the current day and those who believe that any dilution of the old ways spells the end of Kavalar culture.[...]
2 opposing groups…… Company vs Pinehearst?

Rafal October 20, 2008 at 10:47 pm

“Dying of the light” could be the same as dying of the hope

How many hours left for the live stream of heroes 3.6? Many thanks…

Matej ( Heroes Television) October 21, 2008 at 12:10 am

ask these type of questions in right thread, this one is only for episode discussion/review etc.

answer: 50 minutes

Mihajlo October 21, 2008 at 12:13 am

Adam shouldn’t die. He’s been around for a while and can be a very important part of something bigger, like in season 2 – killing company founders – who would have guessed it.
As we know a villain will die, and it should be Matt’s dad.

Matej ( Heroes Television) October 21, 2008 at 12:45 am

Yes, he will

latest news from Kristin

Coming right up! Here’s your big spoil with a side of tease: I think it’s pretty obvious that a certain recently dug-up bad guy (ahem, Adam) would be going back six feet under, as well as the girl who’s grating on everyone’s last nerve this season (ahem, Maya). But I’m also hearing of another blond female Hero/Villain (seriously, who can say who’s what these days?) whose head is on the chopping block. Check back later tonight for the Heroes Redux for more!

Julian October 21, 2008 at 3:15 am

Aye , MateJ .
Do you mind to write a Review for Episode 6 ?

Matej ( Heroes Television) October 21, 2008 at 3:35 am

Sorry but I simply don’t have time to write proper review, I wish I have.

Anyway, liked the Mr. African Isaac line heheh :)

Matej ( Heroes Television) October 21, 2008 at 4:03 am

Episode tittle – Peter is the light. and now with peter whose ability is taken the light dies ? Finally got it … or maybe not … :P

Anonymous October 21, 2008 at 5:21 am

HERE ARE THE SPOILERS FROM “DYING OF THE LIGHT” (REFERENCE TO KRISTIN’S TEASERS):

DON’T READ IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED:

Adam Monroe’s character is done. He is killed off by Arthur Petrelli who can absorb powers and take powers away from “Heroes”. After his regenerative abilities are taken away Adam dies since he has aged 400 years.

Claire gets “killed” by her mom through a game of forced Russian Roulette by Eric Doyle whose “power” is body control.

At the end of the episode Peter unknowingly travels to the Company in search of revenge and incidentally runs into Arthur Petrelli in his office. Peter is dumbfounded because he assumed his dad was dead and Arthur reaches out to him to give Peter a hug saying things are alright and in the process steals Peter’s powers. The episode ends with Peter on the floor and unable to use his powers.

A great cliffhanger!

Chantal October 21, 2008 at 5:52 am

that episode WAS SO FREAKING AMAZING. IT BEATS SEASON 1′S EPIODE 6 by FAR.
the funniest parts were hiro and the painter, matt and his turtle and the puppet man
my faves were when peter and sylar were fighting (HE FLEW TOWARDS SYLAR LOL) THis was the BEST EPISODE so far cause each episode gets better can’t wait till next weeks. and for ALL THOSE “”CONFUSED”" People – WHAT DO YOU THINK NOW??

heroesultrafan October 21, 2008 at 8:26 am

This was another fantastic episode of Heroes Season 3! There entertainment, comedy, thrills, jaw-dropping scenes, great fights and drama. Omg I can’t believe Arthur is so powerful and now the only person who can stop him is Sylar! Damn you Peter for turning your back on your brother!!

eDMOND October 21, 2008 at 12:06 pm

wow, im really sad that adam died. He was one of my fave. After taking Peter’s powers, does it mean that Arthur took Peter’s mimic powers too? I mean, if adam died, it means he had no power anymore. So what gives?

Tarot October 21, 2008 at 12:40 pm

Arthur- It very much looks to me like he’s a variety of empath, but unlike Peter, who duplicates powers of those he comes near to, and leaves the original owners their powers, Arthur steals them totally.

Peter- Went from being one of the most powerful to having no powers at all. Although I didn’t like what he’d done once he woke up I was still yelling at my TV not to hug Arthur. And yeah, I know, even if could have he had heard me he probably would have done it anyway. It will be intereting to see where he goes from here.

Sylar- Very interesting that his first move once free was not to run but to try to recruit his brother Peter, not for mischief, but to rescue their mother. Looks like he very much means to make good on his vow to reform. I know there’s a lot of bad blood between them but just imagine what might have happened if they’d teamed up instead of Peter incapacitating Sylar and leaving Sylar, as he’d been before Sylar had freed him.

Nathan (and Tracy)- Although their scientific hope, Mohinder, proved more dangerous than harmless as Nathan had thought, at least Tracy managed to free them. Looks like there’s gonna be a big fight. If they manage to escape Mohinder I’m wondering if they will go to Pinehearst as it very much looks like they want nothing to do with Angela or Primatech/the Company.

Other points of interest- Is Maya dead? What does HRG have planned for Meredith and how did he manage to find her again when the Company couldn’t? Claire and Sandra were grace under fire, literally. That can’t have been easy for Sandra to do, even know Claire would heal. It’s clear that Claire is not trusting HRG. Doyle is one sick Pervert. I’m hoping he stays locked up and I have to wonder how it is that Meredith knows him and manged to survive him before. I don’t think even Adam can come back from Arthur stealing his power. Looks like just his clothing was left. Some how, regardless of how Arthur planned to use Adam to heal himself, I figured Arthur would kill Adam when he was done. If I heard Utusu, the precog painter right, it would appear that it’s not just a matter of Primatech or Pinehearst for choices but “will you choose your own path or let others choose it for you?” Quite frankly I don’t care for either Primatech or Pinehearst.

Matej ( Heroes Television) October 21, 2008 at 12:47 pm

Nice thoughts Tarot :)

The shooting scene, it was really predictable but still very interesting and exciting to watch !

I freaking loved the shovel scene, and I loved the second shovel scene even more. :)

I don’t like insane Peter, to much insane In my opinion …

We lose a good villian, but gain a great one. I really hate it that they killed Adam, that’s just to bad. But that scene was awesome to watch, great acting! Papa Petrelli looks to be a great addition, and he also has the benefit of being completly insane!

one of funniest episodes, liked it :)

anonymous October 21, 2008 at 2:16 pm

Future Peter knows what hes doing. He made present Peter get Sylars hunger so Papa would have it. he also knew that he wouldn’t have it anymore once pops took it.
Almost seems obvious that the formula will be given to Peter so he can get his powers back.

Julian October 21, 2008 at 2:44 pm

Anyway , Tarot . Just to inform you that Claude is back to This week GN .

Tarot October 21, 2008 at 3:09 pm

@ Julian,

I know!!! FANTASTIC!!!! I’m still trying to pick a shot for a sig file.

joemomma1 October 21, 2008 at 5:29 pm

ummm since arthur petrelli absorbed peter’s power, wouldn’t he be able to absorb and steal people’s power without touching them now???
and how would peter get his ability back? would he have to start over and reacquire his abilities??? 2 many questions and not enough answers
im pretty sure that Maartin will be Meredith’s brother in the upcoming episode.. maybe.. and who is Adam’s wife???

barad October 21, 2008 at 5:33 pm

but it is sure that he’ll get the same power then.

Rafal October 21, 2008 at 8:41 pm

Gee… I can’t wait to see next episode! Tracy and Nathan will fight for their lives… Maya will presumably die. I love Niki but it’s getting me that I love Tracy even more… she embraces her power and does something good, she was “thinking” when fighting Mohinder. Tracy and Nathan make a good duet.

How the hell…? Papa Patreli gets on my nervs!!! He is the most powerful now… And only Sylar under Mama’s gaudience can stop him.

Now we see that actually Angela is a good character, and all she was leading to was to save the world from things and people like Arthur.

What if they Stop Arthur? Will the abilities go back to where they belong? Would that mean that Adam will be back from the dust?

I actually like Clair’s bio-mom… let’s hope HRG will not get her killed. Flint is presumably her brother, and it was apparentaly him that put the fire in the house when Clair was a baby.

I’ve read somewhere that ther real Jessica/Barbara is alive and has a power… The german is a close relative but not blod related to her. Will we have Jessica the Villain and Tracy the Hero?

I like the new, much more humanitarian side of Sylar. Good as a Villain but better as a hero.

Mihajlo October 21, 2008 at 10:42 pm

-As I’ve said before Adam shouldn’t have been killed. He is one of the first or maybe the first one with a special ability. Not to mention he’s a great actor;

-Peter claiming to be the most special is probably because of t h e h u n g e r

-Arthur stealing powers – that’s interesting. But Adam dying is a bit questionable – did he had to die??? I think not. Arthur did steal his power and Adam was powerless. But why die? he could have aged normally, not in a second. It’s like Arthur has reversed what the power has been doing so far, and that’s stupid

-and about Hiro – he always seems to be the key in saving the world: season1 – he “kills” Sylar (the main villain for season1); season2 – getting rid of Adam (the main villain in season2).
Now, according to the painter he has a new mission – to take Pinehears down

jazzguy_87 October 21, 2008 at 10:45 pm

Hiro kinda has the ultimate power. How do you beat space/time manipulation?

Mihajlo October 21, 2008 at 10:47 pm

btw who are the guys in the painting??? in the upper left, that’s Arthur; in the lower left – Knox???; in the lower right I assume that’s Flint and in the upper right – I have no idea

Matej ( Heroes Television) October 21, 2008 at 11:51 pm

Sylar?

hiroshero October 22, 2008 at 2:52 am

mihajlo, adam died because his powers were the only thing keeping him from aging. and since he’s like (idk how many years) really old, and papa petrelli took his powers away, he aged to dust.

matt October 22, 2008 at 1:07 pm

Could it be this mysterious Bartell character, or it could be Sylar even know it doesn’t look like him?

We will find out who Adam Monroe’s wife wad via a graphic novel.

Adam will be back acorrding to his IMDB profile {episode 8 apparently}

R.I.P Adam

I loved everything about this episode. The fight scenes between Sylar & Peter were fantastic, if only they did a similar thing in the Season 1 finale!! I like how they used various powers in one fight. Cool stuff.

I wonder if the African TURTLE will be as famous as Mr. Muggles?

Roll on episode 7!!

Mihajlo October 22, 2008 at 2:52 pm

I know Adam was very very old but it wasn’t magic that kept him from aging, it’s the ability. And when he lost it he should have aged normally because his body can’t age in a second. it’s not The Picture of Dorian Gray

tugA October 22, 2008 at 3:16 pm

CAN ANY ONE TELL ME WHAT IS THE POWER OF PETER PETRELLI FATHER?
HE TOKE OFF THE POWERS FOR EVER?

Mihajlo October 22, 2008 at 4:54 pm

You can find this on heroeswiki.org – Arthur’s ability is the ability to steal the abilities of other evolved humans through physical contact, rendering them powerless.

I think that is his power but there’s something more to it. My guess is he can return the power also.

TUGA October 22, 2008 at 6:16 pm

THNKS MAN….. I AM ADICTED ON HEROES….. PEACE FROM PORTUGAL

ACID MAN October 22, 2008 at 7:30 pm

well adam died because he lost his power and since he has lived for like millions of years without his power he would be dead

Matej ( Heroes Television) October 22, 2008 at 7:37 pm

Well, if he lost his powers but didn’t died – that to would be logical.

Andy October 22, 2008 at 10:48 pm

Okay, maybe I’m just being a little paranoid, but in the painting the Precog made, at the top right hand corner – is that just me, or does that look like Sylar?

Or is it that new character, Flint, that’s supposed to be appearing soon?

Personally, I hope Sylar remains a hero. He’s such an interesting character, and I don’t think he should always be designated the villain.

Lena October 23, 2008 at 6:28 pm

I personally think that it’s Sylar on the top right hand corner as well.
Flint, by the way, is NOT a new character. It’s the “blue flame” villain from Level 5. (most probably bottom right hand corner on the precog “Villain”-painting.) He may be Meridiths brother :D (read too many spoilers)

For me, Sylar as hero, felt as a cheap stunt to keep Sylar on the show. Fortunately, it worked out. Some people, including me, felt that Sylar became kind of uninteresting. This new side of his character is better to watch. But I still find it odd that he changes so fast. I personally think that he might not always be a hero…
But I like him as a hero as well. But I think for a volume called Villains we have way too much heroes.

Things I’d like to see this season:
- more of Matt/Daphne: I’m a fan of them^^
Matt’s story so far has been the most compalling for me. Hell, his scenes are funnier than Hiros…
- Hiro going undercover is kind of lame. Not a long time ago, Hiro would have refused to work with/for “billains”. I hope Ututsu(”Mr. African Isaac”) can knock some more sense into him. He could use the shovel for this…. :P
- make Claire the special among the specials, and let her die a senseful death. Yes, she’s a main, but I lost interest in our Cheerleader… The only thing that makes me tolerate her character is her family…
But I guess she’s special in the way that she really CAN’T die…. not EVER –_–

guio October 27, 2008 at 6:57 am

just a question, why arthur needed the formula when he has all the power already? it goes to the question, could he be the real hero in this story? lets just wait and see. thanks.
