Writer Chris Zatta ( Cold Wars ) FIRED!

by Matej ( Heroes Television)

According to yet unofficial sources, it seems that Chris Zatta, the writer of Parasite, Dying of the Light and Cold Wars has been fired by NBC.

Here’s an email that fan from 9th Wonders received from Chris:

“Hey Isa,
Regarding next season, I haven’t heard anything official from NBC either. But the writers have been moving forward with the idea that there will be a Season 4. Hopefully NBC will announce something to confirm it sooner rather than later.
On another point, I am sad to say that I am no longer with Heroes. NBC decided to cut back on the budget for the show and part of that plan involved downsizing on the lower level writers. It’s been wonderful emailing with you this season and hearing the fan reactions, but I will have to put you in touch with someone else on the show for now. For the time being, I think it’s best to give you the email address for Bill Hooper. He’s the script coordinator on the show and he’s been an amazing go-to guy on what’s happening.”

Ye loved Cold wars. I dont get it ..why dident cold wars get good rating? I think alot of ppl thought the episode was good except in the end when matt paint the future.But the episode still need good rating!

Abarel February 28, 2009 at 12:09 am

The most likely reason “Cold Wars” got such bad ratings is that people didn’t like the previos episodes and had stopped watching. We should always judge by the episode after the one we want to know the rating for.

I hate to say it but the show may not last another season. It going through too many changes and not for the better. I’m hanging in there and have attempted being optimistic but it doesn’t hold me like it did at the shows inception.

The thing about Matt painting the future I think nobody understands is that Usutu isn’t alive. Usutu before he died, as far as I can tell, channeled his predictions into Matt’s mind, so Matt could access them at a later time.

Bummer. :( I really enjoyed “Cold Wars.” I’m really hoping we get a season 4. Heroes is the best thing TV right now.

They need to focus more on Hiro people really like him. I don’t think they need to have Claire or Peter explaining things to people in that pained voice or having his head at an angle like peter always does

bobby February 28, 2009 at 5:18 am

Claire’s character is ruining the show I find, all her scenes are pointless and boring… she continues to whine about her dad…. she thinks shes a “Hero” but really a drama queen (only reason her character is still alive in the show is because shes HOT….the writers know it, most of the fans know it.. n if u don’t Now u DO!! )why the writers continue to give claire a love interest i don’t know why.. the boyfriend is not needed.. just takes up screen time… cause we all know the dude won’t last… like they should really stop introducing new characters and focus on the current cast or maybe focus on the popular cast members like Hiro.. and CLaire gets waaay too much screen time in episodes… n most of the time.. “its im not a child… i can fight..blab..blab”.. my advice.. kill Claire…her character has served her purpose…”Kill the Cheerleader,Save the Show!!”

bobby February 28, 2009 at 5:19 am

Cut claire out, that will boost the budget $$$ for sure…

heroesultrafan February 28, 2009 at 8:38 am

I agree with bobby, Claire is turning from a lovable character to a whiny, irritating and annoying character. If they’re going to include her in the show, they might as well make her a fugitive too. Now she seems to be a main character from Season 1 that the show has no idea what to do with anymore. There are two main stories now, Sylar finding his dad (which is a storyline that is enjoyable to watch) and Heroes running from the US government. Claire? She seems to create a new storyline herself. The show gives her a new boyfriend so she can stick with him and run together. ???? If they want to keep her, give her less screen time, or they can do a Maya. END HER STORYLINE.

I agree that Heroes doesn’t have the same flair as before but it is still a great show. I think the biggest thing that is hurting ratings is “24″ on in the same slot on FOX.

lias February 28, 2009 at 7:12 pm

bobby i totally agree with you, you are 100% correct, this should is going down hill and we all know it, we all know new characters getting introduced will get killed off, we all are getting confused with the story of heroes and it only has one core of the story, every episode has too do with the goverment, if the goverment goes in heroes then they have no sub stories too go with, so even though the heroes are trying too stop the goverment, if they do they will be no story in heroes which is why the goverment will be here for a long time until heroes writers start putting sub stories in it

guio March 2, 2009 at 11:26 am

for starters you don’t say gotta ya with sylar unless he is down, episode 16? it make the gov operatives amateurs and needed more training, thus creating body bags on the gov side. the way to go there is full the trigger and say got ya. another in episode 17 peter should have full the trigger on the head of the arrogant gov operative leader, it would have help in fulling up the rating of heroes. it would have been interesting to watch on how the gov would catch peter and the gang and kill them all. so far all the sequence of the story are all crappy and amateurish. this could be the reason rating of heroes is going down.

Ridgelon March 2, 2009 at 8:45 pm

I think they should just rename the show Sylar and only focus on him. KILL CLAIRE!!!! Turn her to ash so she can never come back, she is the worst actor on the show and her character just burns up screen time for Sylar. Sylar’s story line is by far the best, maybe keep on Peter, Hiro/Ando, Matt/Speedster and Mohinder, the rest should be fodder. If the Heroes had to go up against an Ultimate Sylar, they could try many tactics, have many battles, and he could just leave them around for some fun later. The best would be if Peter controls his power and finds that he can have as many powers as he wants instead of 1 at a time, then have a Ultimate Peter vs. Ultimate Sylar fight for the world.

Dreaddie March 2, 2009 at 8:56 pm

@Ridgelon
Look, Hayden is a great actress. And personally, her angle is awesome.. They could’ve just given her electricity or something, and she could be the innocent little girl who blows things up. Instead, they made her indestructible, an uncommon element in her style of character in any sort of sci-fi drama. Sylar and Ando are my two favorite characters on the show. But it is necessary to develop characters in this sort of show, and not just have Team of Good Guys with a pretty powerful leader (old Peter) against a solo Ultimately Powerful Badguy (Sylar). Because then you just have… have… well..X-men. You gotta think outside the box, and realize that maybe if people had anomalistic abilities that this might be a possible reality they would have to face. I mean how hard is it to accept the heroes storyline. I mean a bald genius in a wheelchair that goes from home to home taking “gifted” children. Yet somehow keeping them safe from the public/government even though everyone knows about them. The heroes storyline is fine, if anything, it is only lacking a little substance, which is seems to be gaining each week after the slightly shakey season 3. Anway, thats all I have for now, no hard feelings, enjoy tonight’s episode.

@Dreaddie

It’s not about the actor, its bout the character in the show(blame the writers for making her a whinning/over-confident kid. Claire doesn’t understand her limits and that her role was over after season 1, if they want to save the show to some degeree..they should stop making most episodes Claire Centric… they have a good 42 minutes per episode(without commercials) and instead of advancing the story or developing other essential characters like Hiro, Ando, among many.. the writers keep a good amount of time on Claire… thinking the show should revolve around her based on all the screen time she gets per episode(throughout the whole series among the cast, Claire has the most scenes per episodes), cause there’s something big install for her character apparently.. ..I do not see heroes going beyong season 4 if they keep focusing the story on Claire…makes me think the writers are only keeping Claire Alive is because of Hayden and her popularity as an actress, cause it makes no sense to keep a dying character alive…
